MCM | The People’s Afterparty 2026
Hey everyone!
For anyone running the Marine Corps Marathon next weekend (or coming out to cheer), wanted to share a fun way to celebrate afterward!
I’m with Every Person Run Club (EPRC), a local DC running community, and we’re hosting our 3rd annual People’s Afterparty on Sunday, October 25, at Royal Sands in Navy Yard, starting at 6 PM.
We’re bringing runners, friends, family, and the wider DC running community together to celebrate everyone’s hard work. We’ll have free medal engraving, a recovery oasis, and marathon portrait photos so you can commemorate the big day!
It’s a ticketed event, and proceeds help keep EPRC’s community runs and programming free year-round.
If you’re looking for something to do after the race, we’d love to see you there!
Details and tickets:The People’s Afterparty 2026 | Eventbrite
Good luck to everyone racing! 🏅

Introducing DaMoVies!
Hi everyone! A little over a year ago I launched the DC Movie Digest, a weekly free newsletter that aggregates all the movies being re-released in theaters across the DMV. After many hours of clicking, copying and pasting around every movie theater website, I’m super excited to launch a fully fledged website.
Introducing: DaMoVies! The only place on the internet where you can see all the movies being rereleased in theaters across the greater DC area.
The website is completely free to use, has no ads, and is a labor of love. I’d love to hear what yall think!
Go to damovies.org to check it out.

Who doesn’t love $40 Uber?
The bar is set so low, and the fact that an elected official can’t even reach that bar is so telling. Case in point, look at Waymo. It’s pretty cheap compared to Uber and Lyft, and it’s also very safe, especially for women. Great, got it.
So our elected officials’ rationale for not approving technology that will make people’s lives better and save them money is that we need to protect jobs at companies like Uber and Lyft?
I don’t understand why it’s our responsibility to subsidize an industry. Why should I pay $40 for an Uber when the same trip could cost me $15? And another thing, are we going to ban cashierless stores because a cashier might lose their job? Why should consumers get the short end of the stick just to artificially protect jobs? By that logic, maybe we shouldn’t have had the Industrial Revolution either, because what about the people who made a living transporting others by horse?
Like, elected officials, it’s not this difficult. They’re not even making a safety argument against Waymo. They’re literally saying DC is facing a jobs crisis. What does that even mean?
So rather than helping people find better paying jobs, teaching them new skills, or creating new opportunities, your solution is to make the people living in these communities pay higher prices?
Why should residents be responsible for subsidizing an industry simply because technology is making it less competitive? Like, excuse me? I’ll be sending my invoices to her.

Man masturbating at bar
I was at Residents in DuPont for HH, and the guy on the next barstool exposed himself and was masturbating. After coming to terms with what I was seeing (he was trying to be discrete), I reported him to the host stand. While I was gone he paid his tab and left. He definitely knew what was going on and left before he could be held accountable. No one had any idea what he was doing, except for the two women on the other side of him who later corroborated what I saw.
He was a late 20s-mid 30s Black man with longer hair. He wore workout tights with shorts over them, and definitely cut a hole in the tights with his shorts as a cover. Before engaging in this behavior, he made normal small talk with me and the bartender. Nothing in his behavior or appearance was weird or abnormal. And he didn’t hit on me, make me feel uncomfortable, or say anything inappropriate. Him literally jacking off at the bar seemingly came out of no where.
I’m making this post so that if others see this man doing this, PLEASE believe your eyes and say something. Don’t gaslight yourself (yes, it is crazy, but your eyes saw what they saw). Trust yourself to make a report when you see something that makes you uncomfortable. And don’t wait for others to say something, because the guy might cause harm to others (and we should report fuxkin weirdos).
Why isn't this game played for real?
Why can't this be a regular season game, not that an exhibition?

Moving to DC
Hello! My fiance (M30) and I (F27) will be moving to DC next month. We are currently looking at Logan Circle and Dupont circle as we’d like to be in a really walkable area. We are long for a townhome / Condo in the area and were wondering if anyone had any recommendations on where to look or if they know of any available? I’ve been looking all over zillow rentals but am having a hard time finding anything. We will be moving from the west coast and I am curious what others who have moved think about the area? I’d love to make friends and am hoping it is a good area to do so :) any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
