It's more that it's annoying seeing posts about commitments/decommitments, because the novelty of high school commits has worn off.

Kids want the exposure that comes with "committing", without the actual commitment. This guy is a good example - committing to 3 separate SEC schools, literally all rivals with each other. Kids being kids, but they also shouldn't be surprised when people care less and less.

You can't get upset when someone takes a better opportunity. That's just silly. It's a game.

It's just a publicity stunt, it makes the kid look goofy. I think it's pretty common consensus to not care about commitments in current college football? I doubt there is anyone actually upset.

I agree it holds much less weight than it did during my childhood

Are you dense, a georgia fan, or both?

Brother, again, I don't know why you're getting so upset about this. It's a high school kid making commitments to colleges. He has as much right to change his mind as anyone else does.

You don't have to be a Georgia fan to know that playing at Georgia will be much much better for your possible football career then playing at Auburn will be. This is just a fact of present day.

That’s not necessarily true as you may get more exposure more quickly at Auburn as well as scheme fits

Ehh. I've learned to accept the roster we start the season with. Signing players means nothing, and commitments mean even less.

Signing players means they’ll be with you for at least a year but commitments definitely don’t mean anything

Sounds like he’s picking based on the highest bidder

That's the world we live in now. I'm not sure why any program would pay a lot of money for a freshman. Freshman and sophomores should all go play at schools like Troy.

um mcfly and this surprises anyone?! has it dawned upon any football supporter that auburn is now a basketball school? until Auburn fans quit treating football as a drunkfest and quit selling out games nothing will change. No big name coach will come Auburn. No big name players. No Bo Jackson No Takeo Spikes No more Cam Newton. They wont touch us until we hire a top 5 AD to run the program and run off all the boosters who ran off Pat Dye, Tommy Tuberville and Gus Malzahn. Hang it up boyz we aint going to a bowl game for the next 5-10years

Pay Kirby any amount he wants to be the highest paid coach to come to Auburn. Find a recruiter. Until we get a coach who can send players to the NFL we have power 5 or 6 program.
