I'm really ready for the conversation to move past if it's ok to draw women with big boobs and onto how to draw women with big boobs well.

Half the issue isn't that these characters exist- it's that the artist draws women like us as though our boobs are deployed airbags.

We also tend to (Ime) have big rib cages and shoulders to carry the damn things. And bellies, and thighs, and softer, rounder faces. Big boobs are more common when you are soft everywhere. Not a hard rule- but when discussing art that looks like ppl stuck balloons under the shirt of a size 2 it needs to be mentioned.

Big boobs often hand low and sag a bit when not in a bra. If I'm sitting with my legs crossed they are damn near in my lap unless I have perfect posture. Which also- boobs have weight, they swing away from the body unless held in place and the garments used to do so often leave marks. I would feel beyond seen if one of these characters told a bra off and had welts on her shoulders like I had to suffer in HS.

Cause we also suffer from wardrobe malfunctions as well. If you can't find a bra in your size and budget you have to resort to shit like wearing multiple at once. If your uniform for school or work requires a button up you are doomed.

Nothing pops my suspension of disbelief bubble quite like a big breasted woman in a perfectly fit button up. Either that shit fits the boobs and looks like a tent everywhere else, or it fits everything else but the 4/5 buttons across the bust are screaming for mercy. I don't make the rules, I just suffer them.

if that's how they want to draw then they can. it isn't meant to be 100% realistic art.

And I'm allowed to criticize art that unrealistic in ways that sexualizes women.

They can draw goober trash, and I can call it gooner trash. that's how this works.

another way how this works:

it's art. it's not sexualizing women, it's just a silly webtoon story. nobody complains about Twitter artists making NSFW, but people are complaining about a webtoon?

many women have big breasts. it's not unrealistic. honestly the way they drew her chest size looks fine to me, so I don't understand what people are in arms about.

i have an OC with a prominent hourglass body type. big breasts, small waist, thick thighs and everything else. would you call that "gooner trash" ?

like i've said, it's their art and they can make whatever they want. they're not obligated to draw what you find "right". people are forgetting that artists have artistic freedom, so stop trying to limit that from us. we're also not obligated to "represent" anyone.. i honestly don't understand why people criticize artists about that.. "all she does is draw pale Asian characters" "she should draw more black characters" and? sure it'll be cool to add representation to art but it is not our job to do that.

i am not being rude, and yes you can criticize certain comics and whatnot. but you're really complaining about a non issue. maybe criticize the story itself, not how large the characters breasts are. it's pretty weird to do that.. 🤷
