I think so too. Artist probably used 3D models as base and to make the height difference just downsized them. When in reality you need to make a tall man 7 heads high and a short woman 5 heads high so you don't get a woman that has a head that's half the size of his. Although there can be a size difference, but not that huge

this is not actually a contender for super crazy height difference but i was watching the KH 358/2 Days movie (cutscene is DS i know) with my husband and when I saw this i couldn’t stop thinking of the height difference and realizing “Ah… THIS is why I liked Riku LOL”
I recently reread it and noticed that the height difference sometimes changed depending on the panel (and not only because of perspective). I remember that scene in the screenshot and how annoyed I was because in another panel, Aristine looks not as tiny while standing next to Tarcan. Later on, I felt like the artist made her shorter on purpose, and it seemed like even her maids became taller or she got smaller (the tall maids from the kingdom, of course).
I get that their height and build differences were relevant to the plot, but it still bugged me a bit when Aristine looked even shorter than before.

I can get annoyed at the proportions and height changing size, but I also will stare, being secretly happy that Tarcan seemed to get progressively taller, meaning he takes up more panel space 😂
i think i let go of any annoyance that the MC had to be so comparatively tiny... on their first night in bed together. yeah, the size difference was ridiculous, but what Ari did to Tarcan's body took me out 🍞🫦🥴😂😂

not gl officially, the webtoon has strong bi vibes. there are male love interests but they are not the focus, it's very female-centered. this couple is heavily implied as a endgame from the beginning (still ongoing so we'll see) but it's kinda problematic, depends on how you interpret the lore. storywise and artwise is really good.
The author has been a GL stan from previous worls too. And if it helps, the protagonist Lapis doesn't want to accept any other love interest if it's not gonna be Calla. There are other dudes interested in her but she has rarely given her favour toward them compared to Calla.
I'd say, even though I recommend it 10/10 as a yuri veteran myself, I hope you can give it a read as it's worth it for the world building alone but the added GL is a huge bonus for me with GL elements throughout the story. Lapis' first starting point in the story is set in "Lily field" for crying out loud lmao.

Having been in a relationship where I was 5ft4 and he was 6ft8… it’s really not that great.
It’s also funny sometimes reading webtoons where the height difference is crazy, but it also fluctuates wildly. Like one chapter there’s a 2 foot difference but then next chapter it’s just a normal height difference
I’d love a story about a girl that isn’t the height of a child but almost as tall as the ml. I feel like I’ve never seen these stories have the FL be a taller height unless she was meant to come off as hella tomboyish. In Couple Breaker the FL is fairly tall. Also, in Want to see my cat?, she's not just tall but she makes sense and the webtoon is genuinely heart-warming.
I'd like to see different combos that are not necessarily a plot point. It's not like if the girl is even slightly taller that must be the main conflict or even a significant topic in their relationship.
Also, more variety in general. I don't necessarily mind the gap in the individual couple as much as the fact that in the setting every single man is massive and every single woman is minuscule.
I think I finally figured out what I find uncanny with those sorts of height differences! It's not necessary that the height is bothering me; it's the proportions of the male characters compared to their female counterparts. For example, OP's image the man is too wide compared to her. I'd say they were a much older brother and middle school-aged sister.
Some of these are wild 😭 I'm like 5'10 (woman) and even my short friends don't look that crazy next to me or men taller than me.
With the exception of the fantasy/non-human characters, it gives an obsession with infantilizing shorter women. Even the way they right some of them personality-wise 😭 like girl
