I thought they were designed to be disintensifiers? Detensifiers? What the hell is the opposite of “intensifier”?
Anyway like afaik the whole idea is, for example: if you feel like you wanna say “big-ass bus”, but the bus isnt big enough to be THAT shocking, but it’s still notable enough to be a step above “a bus that kinda just happens to be big”, that’s when it’s useful to say “big-ahh bus”.
And when you say “hop on this dihh”, it’s more casual and laid back than “hop on this dick” which is more forward and assertive.
Shit like grape and unalive havent had that same development, nor did they come about for the same reasons.
