It was originally from the Terminator's victory animations from Mortal Kombat

u/Button-Masher117 Flare gun? No please dont kill me ple-[BANG] 3h ago

WRONG

Its Jax's win animation layered over a generic skeleton model used for fatalities, with the Terminators name for some reason

/uj there is no link between vaccines and autism. The origin of this myth came from a charlatan who released his findings to fear-monger into buying a different vaccine he was a shareholder in and has done irrevocable damage to a lot of children by not being vaccinated against actual dangerous diseases

/j every vaccine makes my autism grow stronger

Technically speaking, yes, vaccines do lead to a higher chance of being declared as having autism. This is because a corpse cannot be diagnosed as autistic, but a living person immune to the disease that might have otherwise killed them can.

I do think microplastics have a correlation with Autism, like, if it truly was just that psychology got better at identifying it we wouldn't be witnessing a continuous growth but a spike then stabilizing of cases

So either the psychiatric field is just pathologizing regular human psychology and making autism into more or less a meaningless term that ranges from mild social awkwardness to non verbal and care dependent people

Or something is making more people autistic... and I hedge my bets on the pseudo biological artificial hidrocarbons we keep pumping on our planet

An interesting, but not necessarily validated idea.

Your first point doesn't account for inequalities in healthcare access or adoption of screening for autism. 10-20 years ago, the stereotypical autistic individual was a white male. Now trends show that Asian, Black, and even Native American groups have higher relative rates. And that ignores the gender disparity (traditional models underdiagnosing autism in women).

We may not have reached the diagnostic "peak" from which we will plateau

Then I argue it's Psychiatry pathologizing regular human psyche to be able to sell the treatment...

3

u/Super_Employment_620 2h ago

Nice pivot.

There are no medications or approved treatments for autism  outside of things like anti-psychotics for patients with severe tantrums/physical outbursts. So not much selling going on.

Some of the increase might be due to average maternal age increasing since advanced maternal age is associated with higher rates of autism, but most of it is definitely just less underdiagnosis I think.

As the very Imcomporal incarnation of higher functioning autism. I say that vaccines are based and should be disturbed so we neueodivergents against the typical scum
