When you hunt with dogs you train them by chasing rabbit when it isn’t hunting season. When you do that it’s cool to video tape it.

Wow! The more you know. That’s interesting, like coaching them with tapes! I didn’t know that.

To see if the dog was fit for this or if it's not. I wouldn't trust that dog to catch even a stick. It seems it was more interested in running for passion than for sport.

It’s running by more by scent than sight, and was pretty frigging excited to have a wheel furrow to blast down. Over run the crap out of the rabbit but I bet it figured it out

Would be nice to see this with more than 3 pixels.

Usually, these are the coolest videos the ones where the video quality always makes you want to take a closer look at every detail.
If videos like these disappeared, the internet would break. Lol

Looks like it could a terrier, like a Fox Terrier or Wheaton Terrier. Probably more of a Wheaton since it’s pretty big.

I was going to say wouldn’t the dog easily be able to smell that little escape maneuver?
But then again, it’s not like the bunny ran off perpendicular to the trail and into the woods. He ran straight back over its scent line on the trail, and sat there in it, allowing the dog to keep tracking until the end up the scent, which was still further up the road at that point from where the bunny had settled at.
Either I’m way over thinking it or nature is very intelligent

This is what rabbits do, which is why hunters train dogs to chase rabbits. When the rabbit returns to where the chase started the hunter is there to shoot it.

There was a rabbit in my back yard that outsmarted my dog all day like this
Hop off, freeze and go invisible, wait, go somewhere else
Prince of a thousand enemies
