The goal of the rest of the world is not the military defeat of Russia in Ukraine.

The goal of the rest of the world is to so completely destroy Russia militarily, economically and socially that it brings about regime change in Moscow while putting Russia in a position where it is unable to quickly rebuild its economy and military in order to invade yet another of its neighbors.

I think you're giving 'the rest of the world' too much credit.

China and Iran are supporting/trading with Russia. India remain neutral but still trade with everyone and make a good chunk of profit.

"The West" is trying to support Ukraine without escalating into direct/nuclear war with Russia.

The US/Trump cant seem to make its mind up whether they support Ukraine or Russia.

So I really don't think it's simplistic as what you are suggesting.

What is this imperialist nonsense. Countries are not obliged to fundamentally alter their trade policies and negatively impact their own economies and politics for distant wars. What happens in Europe is hardly India’s concern, it has its own rivals and geopolitics to worry about. Its typically eurocentric to assume the rest of the world has to pick a side during the war. India’s economy needs oil, and their government is willing to trade with anyone to get it. Why should they sacrifice their own growth for Europe? Since when has Europe historically supported them? I never saw the west stop trading oil with saudi arabia, gas with qatar after their citizens from those countries were implicated in terrorist attacks? The truth is that this is not playground politics. The indian government likely does not care who wins European wars. As long as their economy remains stable. Literal definition of neutral.
