Orange plague and his cronies destroyed all credibility US has built over two centuries in just under two years. Ngl this is kind of impressive.

American voters did that in the first place. They voted him in TWICE. The carcrash of his first term wasn’t enough apparently

Because they are greedy.. america first, paychecks, stock oriented - and it seems they do not care about moral issues blindly believe in „god“ or sth. -> it’s disgusting

I hate listening to the news in regards to the upcoming midterms because they only ever talk about gas and grocery prices as the reason republicans could lose. I feel like that John Travolta meme where he's looking around confused. They're bombing schoolgirls in Iran and random civilians in boats, they're leaving Ukraine out to dry, and they've cut USAID which has already lead to hundreds of thousands of innocent people dead, among many other things. And all these selfish pricks can talk about is that their gas is too high. And they're the ones who made this happen! They're suffering the least out of all of this administration's victims and they act like they've got it hard.

The average citizen of any country does not give a fuck about, and is mostly unaware of, all the bullshit going on in the world. Think about it from the perspective of a Russian villager. Would you really expect a russian politician "running for office" to talk about what Russia's been doing in the middle east or do you think they'll talk about domestic issues to their domestic audience.

Most people really have no idea what the fuck is going on in the world. And that should be normal. Truly, why shouldn't I just be able to live my own life happily with my family. Why do I have to dedicate my time to keep up with the chaos that is this administration when I might not even be able to figure out how I'm going to put food on the table for their kids next week?

Speaking as someone living in Europe, I really would say it's 2 years.

Trump in 2016 was also bad, don't get me wrong, but

a) there were still some competent people in the administration, not just a bunch of yes men

b) We immediately elected Biden afterwards

This lead to a lot of other countries thinking "Yeah, that was weird, but with Biden we're back to normal".

But with Trump being elected a second time - the EU is really speedrunning getting away from the US. He's more unhinged this time (as is his whole admin TBF), and him winning in 2024 showed other countries that Trump wasn't a blip - he is the modern US.

Maybe it is locality based.
Being somewhere that got a pseudo trump elected on the wave of bullshit since 2016 the facade of "american dream", "land of the free" and "defenders of democracy" got completely destroyed.
All that remained was "land of the fee" corruption and "ew americans".

It could be, sure.

I live in Poland - most people I talked to after 2016 couldn't believe the US elected such an idiot, and there were a lot of memes, and headshaking like "how is this guy such an uncultured swine".

But over the years after 2020, and then after re-election in 2024 - people really realized that Trump and his ilk are potentially here to stay. And even if they're not - there's no guarantee that after a "normal president" in 2028 we wont' revert to the same bullshit in 2032.

It's gotten to the point where someone speaking up in support of Trump or the US' actions instantly gets disregarded as too stupid to be trusted with anything.

And rightly so.

why does everyone forget the first term? I'd say the US lost all credibility the moment trump took office. especially when we learned that Russia had a hand in tilting the scales for trump.

You're admitting Russia tipped the scales and still blaming all of the US for the problem. I hope at the very least the extent of fuckery eventually comes out soon. The misinformed, undereducated, racist core of Trumps base definitely deserve blame but there is a huge amount of the US that has been working against this since the days of the Brooks Brothers Riot and hanging chads.
