This is pathetic. Ukraine tested Starlink speed restrictions in Europe and had no issues - the restrictions only exist in Ukraine.
The Trump administration is actively helping Russia kill Ukrainians - and risking the lives of US and NATO advisors in Ukraine.

Text from attached picture in post:

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone."
He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population."
He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory."
"They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this."
He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

This is from Financial Times reporter Christopher Miller's twitter account. I refuse to link to twitter.

That’s the top supported speed of a moving connection with starlink…

Ok. And did you manage to read the rest of the comment before replying? If not, I invite you to do so now.

•

u/lando-bailando 21m ago

Yes this is another “Zelensky says”  headline

Maximum reliable tested speeds are 160kmh

It is possible to exceed, connectivity becomes problematic

The issue before that it dropped to approx 100kmh then restored back to technical specifications

The rest is political noise

Impeachment needs to happen once again. Trump is a treasonous POS

u/neonpurplestar 4h ago

Not that I expect anything out of this, it would be stupid to. Still somewhat noteworthy:

Ostap Yarish writes that even Trump's party colleagues are so shocked by his actions that they will try to block all of his initiatives between the November 3rd election and the new chamber's inauguration on January 3rd.
P.S. The newly elected chamber will only begin work two months after the elections, on January 3rd. The current composition will remain in office until January 3rd, so they'll be blocking their idiot friend.

I know it's a long shot of course but if some of the Republicans get hammered thanks to him then cockblocking his agenda out of spite would be a good way of getting back at him. After all if they already lost their seats etc they've no reason to keep supporting him if he's the reason they lost.

9

u/Hey-Froyo-9395 2h ago

Eh I wouldn’t expect too much from them, even the ones that lose their seats. Lookup the history in half the congress people - they’ll lose these midterms because of anti Trump sentiment, then they’ll run again when there’s a strong pro republican sentiment

He was found under rubble by colleagues: Ukrainian emergency worker killed in Russian strike on Donetsk Oblast | Ukrainian Pravda

Anatolii Hopka, a 41-year-old emergency worker with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU), has been killed in a Russian airstrike on an apartment building in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast. Hopka had served in the SESU for over 16 years and held the position of head of the energy and heat generation service. Over the years, he had ensured the safety of people and the preparedness of rescue units to carry out their tasks.

"Emergency workers hoped until the very end that he could be saved [...] This is an irreparable loss for the entire family of Donetsk Oblast rescue workers. We express our sincere condolences to the family, friends and everyone who knew Anatolii. We share your pain and bow our heads in sorrow." "His life was defined by a strong sense of responsibility and unwavering dedication to his work," Hopka's colleagues added.

Russia launched six ballistic missiles at Zaporizhstal before dawn, marking the fifth attack on the plant, according to the company. Internal energy and logistics infrastructure and blast-furnace production sites were damaged. No one was killed or injured, while operations remain disrupted.

u/TurbulentRadish8113 5h ago

I think that most of us don't think about the causes and consequences of things like this.

Republicans gutted funding for Patriot deliveries, burned stocks & changed the entire war. Thanks to Republicans, Ukraine has likely taken hundreds of ballistic missile hits and thousands of drone hits to critical infrastructure that would not have happened if Democrats had won and funded more interceptors.

That damage is far more expensive than the interceptors and it hurts the Ukrainian economy, meaning Ukraine has less capacity and needs much larger amounts of aid in future to get to the same "power level" in terms of warfighting.

People deny this, but $60bn/year in allocations is truly war-changing. The war would look massively different today if it weren't for that.

Before the kneejerk "but dems suck" reaction: I'm only saying that more would have been intercepted, not all. If you're going to argue, please argue with my logic: money buys interceptors, interceptors intercept missiles with more than 0% probability, destroyed infrastructure is - on average - financially more costly than interceptors. That's it.

Well, yeah. The GOP are traitors to western democracy.

While focus today is on trump being putin's whore, I want to point out that also LePen, AfD, farage and the entirety of the far right are putin's whores. Putin seizes even more french owned assets, and LePen is very clearly a useful idiot to putin and a traitor to her own country.

Putin used his property seizing decree again!
This time seizing the Russian assets of the French company Tarkett

https://bsky.app/profile/prune602.bsky.social/post/3mxzoo23efc27

The fight is also in making people know!

4

u/Think_Discipline_90 3h ago

I think it’s a better perspective to not portray it as Putins credit but rather they’re corrupt and Russia is just the biggest influence on them.

Putin hasn’t really done anything spectacular, but his system is simply more willing to work with them.

u/TurbulentRadish8113 6h ago

This is Kharkiv today. Bodies lying in the street after a russian drone strike on a market.

Two people were killed. More than 10 others were injured.

Remember that Republicans support this. They support this with their actions. Republicans literally acted to completely change US policy to make more Ukrainians die.

Americans had a choice and have the same choice: vote Democratic and fewer Ukrainians die, vote Republican and more Ukrainians die.

Belgium to deliver 10 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by end of 2026 – PM | New Voice of Ukraine

Belgium plans to deliver 10 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026, Prime Minister Bart De Wever said after meeting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of an EU summit in Brussels, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported on Oct. 16. "We will deliver 10 [aircraft] this year. We have a slight delay, but it is not our fault. It is due to delays in F-35 deliveries. We must be able to fulfill our NATO commitments, so we need aircraft. Now the F-35s are starting to arrive, which allows us to transfer F-16s to Ukraine," De Wever said.

He also noted that Ukraine needs air cover to protect grain exports in the Black Sea, energy infrastructure and cities. The Belgian prime minister said he had discussed the possibility of accelerating deliveries with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as supplying 20 mm ammunition produced by Belgian company FN Herstal.

The way things are going, it will be Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Baltics, Poland and Ukraine against Russia in 10 years. All others are really not in it and will fade out.

6

u/Cyssane 3h ago

Don't forget Canada. With the third-largest population of Ukrainians after Ukraine and Russia, many of us have Ukrainian ancestors, know something of the long history of Russian persecution, and have Ukrainian friends.

Canada is also in it for the long haul.

3

u/Brodan0 1h ago

I'd add UK as well.

8

u/Consistent-Egg-3428 6h ago

I wouldn’t underestimate European solidarity once a EU country gets attacked.

22

u/Itburns12345 6h ago

Well goods news is reform are AGAIN balls deep in scandal, so its likely russias asset farrage wontt get in. Canada has been a solid ally and is unlikely to shift soon.

Theres a lotta smaller countries giving more than youd think too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_aid_to_Ukraine_during_the_Russo-Ukrainian_war

A lot of updates to liveuamap today. Including the south near Orikiv and the claims that Dobrophillia and Druzhkivka are fully occupied.

Anyone knows the details?

10

u/Mondelieu 7h ago

I don't see full occupation on the map. I also generally think that mapping a "static frontline" with no grayzone really has served its purpose. Liveuamap tries its best but you can't map the modern war like that. It's better to look at OSINTERs that actually know their stuff like Clement Molin or even pro-russian ones like AMK.

Ukraine can and will fight on without the United States of Pedophilia 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦

Trump likes to f##k kids, Putin likes to watch 👀

16

u/KSaboruf 9h ago

> Putin likes to watch 👀
Not exactly correct, Pookin also like the same as Trump

- The real public kissing of underage boy even made into real russian news decades ago - https :// www . youtube . com / watch?v=5uWEaKLzwUg

- Also, in July 2006, former Russian FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko published an online article accusing Russian President Vladimir Pookin of being a pedophile and claiming that the FSB destroyed video evidence of Pookin having sex with underage boys

5

u/canned_sunshine 9h ago

I wonder who made that video evidence in the first place.

2

u/KSaboruf 9h ago

I think pookin already killed that people long ago

2

u/canned_sunshine 8h ago

Who were they? From which country or organisation?

5

u/KSaboruf 7h ago

It is a deep tradition in russian sec. services, to keep compromat on everyone and film everything, records are even used from time to time to finish top political figures - for example Skuratov tapes (that raised Pookin's friend Chaika) etc. At early 2000's Pookin was among his flock mostly

Russia and US May Announce Joint Data Center Projects, Kremlin Envoy Says

https://united24media.com/world/russia-and-us-may-announce-joint-data-center-projects-kremlin-envoy-says-23537

11

u/planetisti 7h ago

It will be a total disaster for American companies. Russian way of doing things is not compatible

5

u/TurbulentRadish8113 6h ago

I think things work through leverage.

I mean actions that cause consequences.

The US' foreign policy is a tool of the Republicans and their oligarchs. So long as they have potential ways go hurt Russia in response, Russia might obey and protect the financial interests of Trump and his family members and mafiosi who will be profiting from this.

The only reason this is a possibility, btw, is that people did not vote Democratic. I still do not understand why so many pro-Ukrainians thought it was a good idea to spend years acting as a free source of attack ads on Democrats. They helped do exactly what Putin wanted.

7

u/KSaboruf 9h ago

> Kremlin Envoy Says
So this is a lie :) imho

23

u/canspop 10h ago

So ruZZia wants new data centres, but can't afford them, so they're going to convince the dumb US administration to finance the project. (my take on the situation)

As if paying a fortune for diesel wasn't enough. Amazing how those dumb MAGAts really have destroyed a once 'great nation' in less than two years.

10

u/mgr86 9h ago

Yes but then it gives the US administration cause for outrage when another gets hit. How dare you hit our data center partners or some such response. No starlink for you.

4

u/KSaboruf 7h ago

> No starlink for you.
No european clients for Musk then :)

8

u/Uhhh_what555476384 9h ago

Unless they convince the US government to build them it won't happen.  Any US business thinking about investing would know that they'd risk the Ds f**king their investment after the election.

30

u/lightafire2402 11h ago

By this point, they may as well announce US will supply Russia with weapons. Absolute disgrace.

71

u/droglytot 12h ago

Ukrainian woman recalls her days in Russian captivity.

"There were no mattresses. The beds were just bare wooden bunks, with nothing on them. The windows were boarded up. There were 18 of us in a cell with only 6 sleeping spaces. We slept crammed together on the floor.

The worst part was when they brought men into the disciplinary isolation unit. Russians could beat them for a day, sometimes two days. And you would fall asleep, wake up, eat, breathe, all while listening to them moan and scream."

Americans, this is what your new ally is like.

u/UH1Phil 10h ago

Sooo... Guantanamo Bay?

Absolutely despicable behaviour though. But, you know, as long as you side with the perpetrator with the most power and money, you are safe from the torture. Morals be damned. I really hate that the US went from standing up for democracy, at least on paper and in many actions, to openly supporting dictatorship and genocide.

3

u/hornswoggled111 2h ago

I was quite critical of the old version of America. I would very much love for it to come back.

3

u/Amazing_Athlete_2265 1h ago

No. The rot has set in. You cant reform that steaming turd back into something worthwhile. The only approach is to completely dismantle, and rebuild properly.

2

u/hornswoggled111 1h ago

I'm very much hoping America does create something positive from this experience. I suspect the division will be very hard to overcome. But humanity rocks at times.

Putin envoy says Trump's waiver is 'a truly historic moment' -Sky News

Vladimir Putin's investment envoy has praised Trump's decision to put the Graham Act on hold, hailing it as "a truly historic moment".

1/ Constant Ukrainian drone attacks are creating heavy demands on the Russian air force. This is causing a great deal amount of wear and tear for its aircraft, high rates of failures and malfunctions which require repairs and downtime, and reduces their service life

From a Russian channel:

So, despite the fact that we have a shitload of aircraft, they are still not enough." /end

41

u/TurbulentRadish8113 16h ago

I'd love some data here.

Iirc, some OSINTer got satellite images of russian airbases and noticed that massive numbers of Su-25s went missing. It's possible they were sent somewhere off camera (another base? Into hangars?), but it's also possible they just wore out and got cannibalised for parts.

The Su-34s are the glide-bomb workhorse. Ukraine's neptun strike this week was fantastic, taking out between 4 & 6.

15

u/McG0788 15h ago

Agreed it was a great strike but just wanted to add I saw somewhere they may be building 30+ a year so there's still a good chunk available to cause destruction.

More reason to keep funding Ukraine and providing more jets and missiles though

9

u/Itburns12345 10h ago

Maybe covers a lotta weight for the russians as they fudge a lotta numbers though

Their new tank production numbers get muddled in with older t-90s being converted to newer models and even older tanks getting the same revamp treatment, their artillery ammo prodction numbers where hard to judge as they had already large stocks built up and borrowed millions of rounds from NK thus the numbers fired arent necessarily = produced, same with ballistic missles etc

For planes the ukranians keep a close eye and have it at about 14 in 8 months https://en.defence-ua.com/news/russia_delivered_only_14_combat_aircraft_in_8_months_of_2026_while_losing_10_export_shipments_to_belarus_algeria_myanmar_continue_despite_production_strain-19672.html

58

u/TurbulentRadish8113 17h ago

In news that will surprise nobody who watched Trump's open embrace of Putin, Trump has waived the mandatory sanctions which were to be imposed by the Graham Act 30 days after signing.

This is breaking news. There are several sanctions options in the bill, and I haven't found a clear list confirming whether he waived all the ones he could or not.

https://bsky.app/profile/mariadrutska.bsky.social/post/3my256fuqzu2d

4

u/aaffpp 4h ago

Maybe its time for the EU, UK, Canada, and Australia to sanction all Trump Family and Kushner Family business and interests.

23

u/droglytot 15h ago

From 4(a) and (c) in the executive order, the rat is waiving the entire thing, except for whatever relates to Iran. That includes bans on investment in Russia and delisting requirements for Russian companies on US stock exchanges.

43

u/TurbulentRadish8113 17h ago

This was called out right after the bill was passed. Posted 27 days ago.

Section 115 of the Russia sanctions act says that Trump can cancel any of the sanctions at any time if his administration writes a note saying that the cancellation is "in the national interest". The justification for doing so can be classified.

Let's see what happens.
