hello worms, worm #1 here. the election/survey closed yesterday, so its time to look at the results! except for the survey since thats gonna take a little while to sort through...
1. Minimum Karma Requirement
63.2% (48 people) voted for a minimum karma requirement, and 76.3% (58 people) voted for that requirement to be 500 karma. to clarify, people without enough karma will still be allowed to post, but their posts will be held for mod review (more work for me)
2. Low-Effort Posts
71.1% (54 people) voted that there should be something done about low-effort posts, and 56.6% (43 people) voted that only posts that are "generally low-effort" should be removed. i think this is both great and terrifying because what exactly is a "generally low-effort" post anyways? please give me your thoughts on this thank you
3. New Mods?
82.9% (63 people) voted for new mods to be added, but the results on the method are very split.
- 48.7% (37 people) voted for current mods to choose from applicants
- 44.7% (34 people) voted for an election where candidates are approved by the mods beforehand
- 6.6% (5 people) voted for an election without mod oversight
the issue is, a total of 51.3% of people voted for an election, which makes it the majority. i think mod elections are fun, so we're gonna go with option 2. ill make a separate post about the election soon i promise
4. Post Flair Suggestions
there were a lot of post flair suggestions and i just learned that the cap is 350, so ill add the best ones (sorry, "4" isnt gonna make the cut)
5. Other Suggestions
a few people asked for more events which i definitely agree with, but i dont have any ideas so if you have any please share thanks
also, someone suggested adding a dedicated flair for bug pics, which i think is a great idea, so im adding one more rule: "non-shitposts should use the 'bug pics' flair or a flair for the specific bug"
thats about it worms, worm #1 out
