Tip / Guide 7 Addons that replace your WeakAura
i wanted to share what i replaced today or what i tend to use/test on Prepatch :
- currently its not possible to track pots, trinket or racial in the cooldown manager, so i will test this: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/mtt-midnight-trinket-tracker
- Kaze MRT Timer Weakaura was literally a must have for every Raider and its now a feature in the NSRT. Many will already have/had either or both already in use anyway: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/northern-sky-raid-tools
- i am very confused at every season start which ilvl range each item has and which crest i needed. the weakaura was very tiny and inside the tooltip its a 1:1 copy replacement: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/betterupgradetooltip
- One button for spamming world marks very fast (check keybind options inside). Addon seem a 1:1 copy of the WA: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/worldmarkercycler
- Didnt checked the replacement yet. but i expect similar as the weakaura helps making decisions if casts will go on you: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/targetedspells
- There many Dragonriding / Skyriding Weakauras and this addon just looks nearly same as i displayed it.. there many ways to edit it: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/falcon
- Very Popular weakaura to display Boss Abilities / Mechanic Timers. i havnt used it but i wanted to highlight it, since its good: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/better-timeline
edit: since like 50 people comment those 7 addons wont replace weakaura addon entirely. each addon replaces 1 weakaura pack/group :P those are just some suggestions for commonly used weakaura packs / stuff that i use (outside of class weakaura packs).

Just wanted to throw my hat in the ring for all of you who will miss your buff reminder weakauras like I knew I would.
My addon, Missing Class Buff, tracks class buffs, rogue poisons, auras, pets, food/flasks, and more with click-to-cast. It even has a custom buff tracker that takes spells/items/toys for the click-to-cast functionality.
You can get it on CurseForge here
I started working on this a little less than 2 weeks ago. I'd never written an addon or in Lua before this, so it was a crazy experience. I now have mad respect for developers of the larger projects.

u/sonicrules11 Jan 18 '26
Wont this literally not work in 2 days? The reason WA isnt coming back is due to the lack of tracking self stuff right? Thats exactly what this does.

WA isnt coming back, because they cant do half the things they want, and they dont wanna recode the entire addon.

Your add on just solved two problems I had in one addon. Great work! Thank you!!
1
u/Sinsai33 Jan 20 '26
Little bit late to the party: Does the tracking work in m+ or raids? Maybe i'm wrong about it, but i thought they would completely disable tracking stuff like that in m+ for example and not only in combat?
1
u/kaloryth Jan 20 '26
It doesn't work in m+. It should work out of combat in raids but I couldn't test.

Just what I wanted, 7 add-ons instead of one. Ty blizzard

Lets not kid ourselves, Weakauras was 100 addons in a trench coat.
A very, very large trench coat.

u/erizzluh Jan 19 '26
my gripe isn't even that it's going to be less convenient. my gripe is that these addons won't be nearly as customizable as weakauras. like the kaze weakaura, i could change the font or font color or font size on the text exactly how i wanted. i could assign sound cues to them. i could pretty much make weakauras look and behave exactly how i wanted them to without knowing how to actually code.

u/tawn0s Jan 19 '26
Aren't you still dealing with 7 weak-auras? You would still have to program 7 different weak auras or download other peoples for the functionality you want. I mean I'm going to miss some of my weak auras but to say that maintaining 7 addons vs 1 addon plus 7 featured WAs seems negligible to me.
3
u/Burgamerx Jan 19 '26
I was thinking about it yesterday that it might paradoxically be more convenient since these addons will be searchable and updatable via the curse forged thing too. Manually importing auras from a second website or using the wago auto-update thing is fiddly in it's own right. The loss of customizablilty is obviously a downside though.
1
u/Extrahitch Jan 19 '26
These add-ons cannot do everything WA could do. We are getting what we asked for, add-ons not able to apply combat logic.
It's the WA developers' choice to discontinue their add-on. If you're feeling salty, it's at them not Blizzard. They could have adjusted their addon to remove combat logic and preserved all these many other uses, but they chose a temper tantrum instead.

Addons are way, WAY easier to manage and update than dumb weakauras.

u/Eva-JD Jan 18 '26
Is there an addon whose only feature allows me to decide what buffs/debuffs my target frame will show?
I know BetterBlizzardFrames does this but the feature bloat of that addon (and a bit messy presentation) makes it not ideal for me.
77
u/DevOpsOpsDev Jan 18 '26
That is literally impossible with the current restrictions blizz has put on addons
16
u/Eva-JD Jan 18 '26
Well fuck
Edit: Can I at least set a limit to how many that is allowed to be displayed?
19
u/DevOpsOpsDev Jan 18 '26
I believe you can limit them, but the ones which would be displayed are going to be semi-random. ie it'll be determined by when they were applied
3
u/Eva-JD Jan 18 '26
Through the official UI or would I have to make an addon to make that happen?
8
u/DevOpsOpsDev Jan 18 '26
I don't think the official ui lets you limit the count but I could be wrong, I haven't looked recently in the beta. I know some addons have the functionality
5
u/HarrekMistpaw Mail Healer Main Jan 18 '26
I have a (very tiny) addon just to control amount of buffs and mouseovering auras, here
1
u/Eva-JD Jan 19 '26
This sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for, thank you for sharing your work! I’ll check it out tomorrow
2
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 18 '26
Nope they would need to allow whitelist or blacklist for that and they don't wanna.
5
u/Sechs_of_Zalem Jan 19 '26
Assuming the raid frames are just as fucked... As a medicinal tree, I do not know how many trees will continue healing next expansion. Filtering out BS, being able to see exactly who has MY HoTs and the remaining time on each is crucial to higher content arboreal healing..else you will more easily go OOM from waste.

There was an addon i used, back in the day, called "TellMeWhen" i loved it so much and it was way simpler and intuitive. Need to check if still works.
4
u/Soma91 Jan 18 '26
Looking at their GitHub it has a good commit activity and looks like it'll be available for midnight.
I'll definitely try it out at some time, but I'd expect it to be significantly less powerful than it was because of the AddOn restrictions.

u/Anakil_brusbora Jan 18 '26
It is also available within the "Enhance QOL" addon (https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/eqol ) that include a lot of quality of life things (like custom unit frame, mouseover action bar, item level on items, auto sell junk, and many many more), if you want more than just the circle cursor. ^_^ It can replace multiple addons doing those stuff separately into one (again only useful for people wanting multiple QOL improvement). ^^

u/DrNicklaus Jan 19 '26
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/cursor-ring
I am finding this quite good, especially bc I can make the circle star-shaped and choose the color, which comes great in crowded places like Nexus King --> orange/yellow and star shaped, you see it greatly on the purple background
1
u/zennsunni Jan 19 '26
I'd suggest a hardware cursor application completely outside the game in order to have zero latency. I've used yolomouse for like...8 years. I'm sure there are others.
73
u/SpunkMcKullins Jan 18 '26
So grateful we get to go back 10 years in progress and, instead of having one ultra-customizable addon with thousands of pre-made offerings to fit everyone's needs, going back to a hundred tiny, one-purpose add-ons with neutered functionality. Thank you Blizzard, I am so very excited for the future of this game.

Well no you don't understand. Having a single framework for light-weight UI changes all easily managed and configured in a single addon in game is way more cumbersome and tedious vs installing 10 completely different separate addons instead. Way better. /s
29
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 18 '26
Also having the ability for anyone who doesn't know coding to easily write a mini addon using templates is way harder than making people learn coding to do very specific things.
2
u/Arstulex Jan 19 '26
It amazes me that after all this time people are still missing the point.
Firstly, the problem with Weakauras was that it was simply too powerful. Its uses ranged all the way from simple resource/cooldown displays (like in this thread) to just straight up automating the management of boss mechanics. Something ultimately had to be done about the latter, and if anything Blizzards biggest mistake was waiting for this long to do it.
Secondly, "a single framework for light-weight UI changes all easily managed and configured in a single addon" is literally still possible. Weakauras could literally still be this under Blizzard's new addon rules, it's just that the Weakauras devs simply aren't interested in making the changes required. That's not exactly Blizzard's fault.
It's not like Blizz banged the gavel and decreed that "addons can only provide a certain number of different functions and must be split up into multiple addons". Weakauras is gone because Blizz made a good (albeit late) call to reduce the capabilities of addons and Weakauras threw in the towel, not because Blizzard is inherently against all-in-one addons lmao.
12
u/Burrarabbit Jan 19 '26
No one is missing the point. Literally everyone knows what Blizzard's intentions are. People are rightfully upset about Blizzard's god awful execution. None of the people defending this addon purge can provide a satisfactory reason for what was so detrimental about the current state of combat addons that required this change to be implemented so urgently to the point of a heavy handed, clumsy execution when WoW has survived and thrived for over a decade with them.
it's just that the Weakauras devs simply aren't interested in making the changes required.
It's not that they "simply aren't interested", it's that to get the addon even functional requires a significant overhaul that simply isn't worth it for the dev to sink unpaid hours into. Something that could have been avoided with a slower, more methodical transition. Instead, the player base gets to enjoy managing 50 different tiny addons over a single tool that has been developed and iterated on for the past 15 years.
That's not exactly Blizzard's fault
This is like saying its not the boss' fault the worker quit after driving the company into the ground. They're the primary reason why this is all happening in the first place lmao.
It's not like Blizz banged the gavel and decreed that "addons can only provide a certain number of different functions and must be split up into multiple addons".
No they simply banged the gavel and decreed that "all the tools you've been using to customize and personalize your user experience for the past 20 years are broken now. Here's some half-baked replacements that don't even work properly half the time. Good luck with the rest lmao."
Weakauras is gone because Blizz made a good (albeit late) call to reduce the capabilities of addons and Weakauras threw in the towel, not because Blizzard is inherently against all-in-one addons lmao.
Weak Auras are gone because Blizzard decided to hamfist their "solution" to the playerbase without fixing the issues these tools were created and widely used for in the first place. Overall, this purge has done more harm to the player experience than good.

u/Soma91 Jan 18 '26
That's the funny thing lots of people slowly realize now. They intentionally killed WeakAuras which also contained tons of out of combat functionality because it was so easy to build and share compared to standalone AddOns acting as a kind of AddonManager.
Now that that's gone you'll have a standalone AddOn for every single little Aura you imported again until we might get a new AddOn that'll emerge as the new manager replacement.
129
u/Zerasad Jan 18 '26
Having to replace 1 addon with 7 is not the direction the addon purge should have gone IMO. Having to download anaddon to replace a previous small WeakAura is a step back IMO. Hopefully this somehow gets consolidated so you don't have to keep up with 20 addons instead of just 1.
128
u/jennifersaurus Jan 18 '26
Thing is - weakaura wasn't really just 1 addon, was it? It was an addon you had to download other things and install into. Every weakaura was basically another addon, just in weakaura form
99
u/GenericFatGuy Jan 18 '26
Indeed. WeakAura was basically an add-on manager disguised as an add-on.
4
u/RareHotdogEnthusiast Jan 19 '26
This was only the case if you never customized or created your own weakauras.
15
u/hotchrisbfries Jan 18 '26 edited Jan 18 '26
WeakAuras is one addon framework, but pretending imported auras are “just imports” is wrong. At the end of the day it's a framework for embedded LUA scripts.
Both addons and auras are LUA scripts with logic, triggers, basically plugins running inside a container.
They register events, run custom LUA code, maintain its own state and execute on every frame, combat log event, or trigger it's setup for.
An imported WeakAura is not its own addon in the WoW addon system sense (no .toc, no independent load order, no separate enable/disable). Individual auras aren’t addons by WoW’s loading rules, however they both execute the exact same discrete LUA programming that WoW allows.
Two different approaches, using the same LUA scripting, for the same result.
→ More replies (2)8
u/Tashre Jan 18 '26
Weakauras is an interpreter, not a compiler. The verbose output may have obfuscating interim steps for the sake of utilizing the UI, but at the end of the day it manages addons. This is why so many imports were so easily converted into standalone addons when it was initially announced that the WA team was going to let support lapse completely (and also why so many people said that didn’t make any sense due to the addon still able to do its core function perfectly fine in midnight).
5
u/Moofishmoo Jan 18 '26
No I made alot of my own weak auras. It didn't trust manage addons. All my cd trackers for myself were custom made for myself using only weak auras.
9
u/Tashre Jan 18 '26
That's one of the core uses of WA. It lays out the LUA groundwork for you in a variety of templates and you basically just fill in the blanks. The strength of the addon is its UI (if not its UX). It removes the need for you to type out and structure code yourself, but the final aura package you might cobble together is still recognized by the game as just a mini-addon equivalent to even the most convoluted and complex addons.
WoW allows for a lot of customization with LUA, but in the end every addon, including Weakauras, plays in the exact same sandbox. You could recreate something as complex as DBM or Auctionator if you wanted to within WA, it would just be an insanely tedious and bloated mess. Hell, you could recreate WA within WA itself technically.
1
1
u/hotchrisbfries Jan 18 '26
Correct, WeakAuras is a plug-in framework that interprets users logic stored as data objects. Lua is always executed by the WoW client.
Even before Midnight, many have exported to standalone addons because they contain the same executable code and event-driven logic. It's also incentivized by Curseforge, because authors get a cut of the ad revenue.
12
u/BlindBillions Jan 18 '26
Except I know how to make weakauras with the built in templates and tools that weakauras has. I don't have any idea how to make an addon. Having to get multiple addons and learn how they all work to recreate my made from scratch UI is bullshit. What's worse, its not like I'm getting anything positive in return for what I'm giving up.
→ More replies (5)9
u/KidMoxie Jan 18 '26
Lol, people roasted me when I said to me there was no functional difference between finding and maintaining 20 WeakAuras vs 20 addons. The WA updater is annoying and slow to update WAs so I kinda prefer addons in this regard anyway.
4
u/RogueEyebrow Jan 18 '26
One you have to download a file, unzip it and move it into your adons folder, then reload your client so you can Enable the adon to reload again so it's live.
The other you just copy & paste s string into Weak Auras, and you're done. You might need to /reload but not always.
How are those two things remotely functionally the same? The former is clearly more of a PITA than the latter.
11
u/dillpicklezzz Jan 19 '26
Lol unzipping and moving files? This isn't 2009. Curseforge is as simple as WA copy/pasting. Intentionally poor comparison on your part.

You could compare it like that, but I always thought of it as just one addon.
You go to WA’s site, copy a string, and import it in. You could then position the element where ever.

u/Soma91 Jan 18 '26
That's a misunderstanding on your part. They never intended to purge AddOns. They were specifically targeting in combat computational stuff aka WeakAuras.
But their drastic solution hit way more than intended and we'll have to live with the consequences until there'll be another form of AddOn manager that allows you to easily import smaller functionalities. Until then they'll all be fully fledged standalone AddOns.

Has anyone found an addon the can replace Myu's Knowledge Points Tracker? This was great for keeping up with professions.
2
u/Burgamerx Jan 19 '26
Given this expansion only matters for a few more months, i doubt they'd remake it into an addon but I hope they'll make a standalone addon for Midnight professions.
3
u/itisntme2 Jan 19 '26
I didn't think I would need to specify that the addon would work for more than a month. There was a version of the WA for dragonflight, there's a version for TWW, and if it wasn't being shut down I'm sure there would have been a version for Midnight too.

It seems utterly stupid that Blizzard would remove functionality for weakauras that track personal character info like seconds remaining on a buff or when a buff is active.
1
Jan 19 '26
This is not secret anymore and has only been for a few weeks during alpha. You can totally track anything personal to your own character. But why would you do that if there's the CD manager?
3
u/Avatar-Encoder Jan 19 '26 edited Jan 19 '26
The reason I liked my weakaura icons for certain abilities is because it would do things like show how long my demon hunters immolation aura was still up for, or when my retribution paladins 3 combo point spender abilities were available to use. I liked how customizable the icons are, and how I could make each one a ridiculously small scale.
The WA icons would also show when my marksmanship hunter successfully hit three mobs with multi shot to use my trick shot ability.
I'm pretty sure Blizzards cooldown manager can't really do that, right?
Edit: just checked. The cooldown manager is so lacking and incomplete compared to weakauras.

There will for sure be replacements for this eventually, like maybe Watchtower when it's further along in development:
1
u/-_Skeletor_- Jan 19 '26
Same here. I used weakauras for some random non-combat stuff (like dragonriding), and then I have specific UI's tailored to buffs I want to highlight, but in different ways: some have bars, others have buttons with clockwise slices, it would depend on the spec and instance. And then, as a lock main, I have my imp and other pet bars for tyrant setup. Or *had*. Thanks blizz.
Not to mention I hate their ridiculous default frame UI, and had it replaced and used custom weakauras made by me to track specific class resources (soul shards, combo points, runes, ...) -- all gone as well.

I'm really curious how much of a performance increase or fixing of micro stutters people will see without all their weakauras. I used to have a lot of them but suffered from some bad stuttering. It wasn't until I asked around in some discords and multiple people suggested looking at my weakauras.
So I disabled it entirely and did some content and sure enough they were completely gone! I purged them and slowly added what I needed. Quite a few of the popular ones would add that stuttering again, so I replaced them with an addon that does something similar.
I'm team add-ons/WA aren't the devil. They've existed since the beginning of WoW, and it was built with them in mind. Certain ones are absolutely problematic.
3
u/Chas9305 Jan 18 '26
You know, I have to thank you here because I thought it was my pc that couldn't handle the game needing more resources, I'll try what you did cause the stuttering has been really bad for me but never thought of the WA, thank you! :)

u/BaronMusclethorpe Jan 18 '26
Question for those in the know. The only thing I use WA for is tracking my own abilities, e.g. I put up a visual marker for when my (bear tank) Thrash, Mangle, Raze, etc, are off cooldown and ready to be used.
Am I to understand that even this basic functionality is going to be broken?
11
u/minimaxir Jan 18 '26
You can do that in the Cooldown Manager now.
4
u/Moofishmoo Jan 18 '26
So dumb. Skills like efflorescence have no cd but need to be cast every 30 seconds. Let me guess you can't track it

No addon will be able to read ability cooldown state.

u/BaronMusclethorpe Jan 18 '26
So you're saying that even my own character state will be hidden from mods come Midnight?

u/Stormzeer Jan 19 '26
That's not quite true. Cooldowns are actually quite visible for add-ons, even in Midnight. Either secret through the blizzard API or calculated by checking when a spell cast is successful (non secret, for spells with no CDR built in).
You can check out TellMeWhen, which has been updated for Midnight if you want a concrete example.
Auras on the other hand... Yikes.

u/minimaxir Jan 19 '26
I admit I was confused by what TellMeWhen advertises and will be investigating that in pre-patch.
5
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 18 '26
Wait for 12.2 when they start walking this idiocy back same as they did the no flying ever in WoD.

Wanting to see your own CDs in a way that isn't a number on top of an icon?? My god, might as well have an add-on just automate playing the whole game for you. What do you think this is? An idler?? Next you'll be asking for the ability to filter out buffs on raid frames or something equally ridiculous. (/S if it wasn't obvious enough)

u/AmbushIntheDark Jan 18 '26
But how will I know if every priest has SW:P up or that Deep Wounds is currently ticking?!
16
u/Amelia_Zephyr96 Jan 18 '26
Friends try it out in the prepatch without add-ons, don't download a bunch of new stuff that over complicats the game unless you actually need it
29
u/SpunkMcKullins Jan 18 '26
"Over-complicates the game" and it's... being able to see information easier.
6
u/BlindBillions Jan 19 '26
Well yea, there's nothing more complicated than...checks notes...seeing my trinket cooldown. Selecting markers in the party menu and then clicking on the ground is also much less complicated than simply hovering over the ground and pressing a keybind. I hate not having to navigate menus to put down markers.
Some people on this sub are so past reasoning with. They are cut from the same cloth as the people that said, "Covenants are a meaningful choice on par with choosing a class! It makes perfect sense to make it as tedious as possible to swap between them. I care about story and role play, so what if the covenants aren't perfectly balanced." I can only hope there's another rip cord for Blizzard to pull for this horrifically bad decision and that they find it faster than they did in Shadowlands.

None of what is mentioned overcomplicates the game slams head into desk. Because of this stupidity is why we are going to need a dozen addons to replace one because people get salty over others using something they don't.

True, but i am missing 99% of my Nightfall procs on my warlock, cause i cant be bother looking at my buffs all the time to check, when im busy dotting everything. I just need a very simple addon that tracks procs. Im currently running betterblizzbars (i really cant stand the original unitframe of classic) questie and plates.

And how is having 7 addons better than having a weakaura. Blizzard did not cook
→ More replies (7)5
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 18 '26
It's not but yeah blizz set the kitchen on fire because of listening to idiots
4
u/Suugoy Jan 18 '26
so they dont do shit about the UI and now we need to download 1000 addos to replace wa. Great job.

I sure do love having to download 7 extra add-ons just to do the functionally I had before with weakauras. Great job Blizzard

u/4xon Jan 18 '26
damn, so instead of few WAs, which I could DL as a pack... now we have to use like 20 addons to do the same thing AND it is even worse to setup? wow, thank you blizzard :)
2
u/Dahkeus3 Jan 18 '26
Yup. Midnight is coming and the game won’t be nearly as different as the idea behind reducing addon impact made it seem like it would be. Looks like it will mostly be many of us downloading even more addons than before and completely re-doing our interfaces all over just to play basically the same as before.
2
u/Afraid_Ad2263 Jan 19 '26
Ty blizzard, who could have predicted that a shit decision would make the game more shit.

This whole situation reminds me of the times before WA and ElvUI and other "all-in one" addons, when you needed a separate addon for each little thing you wanted to do. I honestly liked that because it felt like modding QoL mods into a game like Skyrim or Minecraft

u/SargerassAsshole Jan 18 '26
Until small annoyances start affecting you and you solve them the way they were officially meant to be solved, with addons.
2
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 18 '26
Weird I can play with addons smooth as butter maybe get an actual computer not a calculator.
1
u/Keebs3 Jan 18 '26
All I really used it for was to replace the default fire bananas for the hot streak alerts as I found them really ugly… is there any way to still do that?
1
u/Fun-Explanation-117 Jan 18 '26
Anyone know addon to show spells like Afenar?
1
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 18 '26
either use bars to put your abilities in the center of your screen or the awful cdm which barely works.
1
u/Appropriate_Egg_6314 Jan 18 '26
Anyone have a replacement for my mouse cursor marker WA?
3
u/BringBackBoshi Jan 18 '26
How pathetic stuff like that will get gutted when it's purely visual and an accessibility feature for many people.
1
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 18 '26
don't forget cursor addons and pet status and whether you have augments on whether you have food flask etc.
1
u/Puzzleheaded-Dog9818 Jan 18 '26
I've been away for some time, and now I need to look up what happened. Was just WA purged? Or was there a blanket purge of a certain type of addon?

Can someone make an add on that encompasses all of the addons that have been implemented to compensate for the removal of weak auras?
2
u/Fleymour Jan 18 '26
weakaura is a toolbox or lego. its not a addon that does 1 thing. its a tool that could do anything you want. and youre able to create things on your own with or without the need of coding.
if so there you need to "make" a new toolbox ;)

Any for adding custom sounds to my own spell casts? I know for other people applying buffs to me it won't work... I mainly used WAs for sound cues, and the default Blizz ones do not work for me.
1
u/Fleymour Jan 19 '26
I might need same. But this is outside of cool down manager. I will do that in patch day..
1
u/Beericana Jan 19 '26
I just need an icon that glows when the spell is off cool down, does any add on still does that simple feature?

u/digixu Jan 19 '26
Anything like miks scrolling battle text?
1
u/Fleymour Jan 19 '26
Haven't enabled any combat text since wod. Visual clutter isn't needed and details has all the info combined. That's my take.
1
u/redditlvlanalysis Jan 21 '26
All Scrolling battle text addons are dead due to the secrets bullshit
1
u/yhvh13 Jan 19 '26
I presume there's no addon to replace the overlay-making functionality from WA before? Even if only using the stuff tracked on the cooldown manager.
For example, I think Brewmaster's stagger overlay is too subtle and I used to make it more obvious using WA.
1
u/Fleymour Jan 19 '26
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/senseiclassresourcebar maybe works for you
1
u/yhvh13 Jan 19 '26
Oh, this isn't what I'm looking for, it seems to only alter the resource bar.
I'm looking at the overlays themselves. Another example is the MM Hunter's Lock and Load proc. The ingame overlay is tiny and gets lost in other visual cues, and previously I also used to make it bigger and brighter.
The real impact the addon purge had on me was that with Weak Aura discontinuation, there's no other way to create custom overlays.

Does any1 know if is it still possible to track party member's kick cds? I had a WA that did this and was awesome, it could tell me when to use CCs more efficiently, based on party kicks on cd
2
u/Fleymour Jan 19 '26
From my current knowledge you can't track any CDs from anyone anymore. Outside of the cooldown manager feature.
1
u/DrNicklaus Jan 19 '26
I thought so... Too bad, I will miss that piece of info...
Ty for your reply!
2
u/Fleymour Jan 19 '26
Yeah hurts healers alot I heard. Or externals for tanks
2
u/DrNicklaus Jan 19 '26
Yeah I never played healer in high end content but I recognize that healers kept tracks of tank's and DPS's defensives to plan healing cds accordingly...
1
u/OpportunityOne9246 Jan 19 '26
Wow nice now I have to download a bunch of addons to replace my custom UI
1
u/Periwinkleditor Jan 19 '26
All I really want is expanded access to tracking my buffs/etc in that cooldown manager thing in-game, there's too many exceptions. like I want vivacious viv on my WW monk tracked. Hoping the patch expands on that.

Hello,
I created this addon who replaces the weakauras : "AutoQueue + AutoSignLFG".
AutoQueue:
Lets you auto click the "Accept" when your group leader tries to sign up for something.
Has a very simple minimap button to toggle the feature, allowing you to change roles.
AutoSignLFG:
I also included a feature that automatically sign up in LFG with double-click.
To sign up the normal way, hold "shift" and double-click or hold "shift" and click on "Sign Up".
You can always disable this feature if you don't want it. (/lfg off)

u/Wooraah Jan 23 '26
My new addon, Goblin Toolbox, seeks to replace pretty much all of the gold making related Weak Auras we're losing, and also includes various QoL features. https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/goblintoolbox
