Humor / Meme I guess I technically still have it on one character.
I lost my Ashes of Belo'ren mount when they purged the buyers accounts. I paid gold for my carry, but still lost my mount because I assume the group I hired was still doing some RMT on the side. Fortunately, I was friends with one of the people involved and they refunded my gold....
... I logged onto an alt today and while I don't have the mount available in my collection, I'm still riding it since that's how I logged out. Pretty funny. Might set this guy aside as long as I can just for the fun of having the mount on my account somewhere.

FOMO as a design policy is what drives the sketchy carry market. This is entirely Blizzard's fault.

Isn't this the CE mount that you can just farm in an expansion or two

u/Slight-Violinist-575 2h ago
Yes on a 0.2% drop chance lmao

u/Aestrasz 57m ago
It's still a 100% drop until Midnight ends, with season 3 gear pugging it might be possible (as long as pugs figure out how to interrupt).

> as long as pugs figure out how to interrupt
Bold statement when HoF guilds mostly swapped their tanks to Prot Pala to handle interrupts in the Twin Fangs because trackers don’t work anymore

u/Aestrasz 42m ago
There's a very big difference between interrupting a preassigned add that will cast exactly at the same time and location every pull, and interrupting an add with RNG timing and spawn.
Prot Pally can cover all the front spawn locations, meaning the DPS have less RNG spots they have to worry about.

Tracking does work for an extend. Lu'ra ads has individual IDs and show up on boss frames so you can consistently track and fetch information for addons to assign people.
Twin fangs had ads with same ID spawn at random locations on each side, so naturally the same method from Lu'ra was no longer viable.

its will be a 5.2% drop chance when the mount event returns

u/Embarrassed-Call7484 57m ago
Is it an additional 5% chance to drop? Or 5% increased drop chance. Two very different things.
Edit: For clarity, I'm actually asking how it's worded because i don't know. Not trying to be sarcastic.

u/DyrusforPresident 55m ago
its an additional 5% but it was only pre dragonflight last time so might have to wait a couple expansions

Yeah the dude above you is lost. Op bought a carry and they took his mount away but you can get this mount still.

lmao that's what I thought, I was trying to figure out how Fomo was relevant
Critical thinking loses again

it's not even the CE Mount. it's the MYTHIC mount. Right now, Lura with a 330 group and some practice is probably sub 100 pulls.

u/Its1207amcantsleep 1h ago
You can farm this in s3 with 100% drop with a raid group. Lura will fall over by then. Dont need CE to get it.

I love my farm that I can do once a week and could potentiall take anywhere from one try to years of weekly tries!!

I like that anything that takes any amount of effort to get in this game is labeled as fomo. It's not like the mount goes away, you can either put in the effort to get it this expansion or wait until the instance is soloable with a low drop chance. Neither of these things are fomo. It's also time people take some semblance of responsibility and self control instead of just throwing their hands up that they are powerless against a psychological marketing tactic that is well known and obvious to spot. You make the choice to feel fomo.

Thats cope. Wow is an MMO. If you want the rewards, game for them. This is such a bad take idk

u/WhimsicalMushrooms 1h ago
Yeah. Having no chase items that expansion or season makes the game feel stale. I would agree that blizzard is starting to cross the line of having TOO much fomo, but having some of it isnt a bad thing. Imo, the people who hate it entirely just dont want to work for the stuff in game. Having fomo items you really like means you have a goal, and if it does something to improve you as a player, thats never a bad thing. I started doing pvp in df season 2 because I thought the illusion was sick. Im not a pvp player and it was rocky, but I did manage to hit 2100 by the end of it. Every season since then has been considerably easier for me because ive just gotten better over time each season. Since then, ive hit legend/elite on multiple toons with like 20 elite sets gained. Idc about hitting elite or legend, I usually stop once I get all the cosmetics. But sometimes I do it just to see if i can. But participating in pvp has also made me quite a bit better at pve, and thats worth it for me.

So what's your suggestion? Do not add rewards for the last boss of the current raid on mythic difficulty (highest PvE achievement)?
I honestly don't get it. People cry when there is a reward, people cry when there isn't a reward. What would it take to make you guys don't claim that this kind of things are "FOMO"?
Gaming culture is so fucking broken ffs. You don't need to get every single fucking item from a game. Control yourselves.

And WoW tokens exist primarily to support the boost market. Well, they primarily exist to give Blizzard money obviously, but ask yourself why you can buy 250k-300k gold?
Who actually needs 250k gold, and especially more than once or twice a year? It's not for consumables and general repairs; I play quite a bit, do a fair amount of m+ and raiding, and I'm certain I haven't spent 250k on consumables, enchants, etc. since midnight started.
But if I want to buy a raid boost for gold, which Blizzard still officially supports, I can buy ~5 tokens, giving Blizzard 100 bucks and me enough gold for the boost. Remember, real money boosts are against the ToS and can either get you banned or get the rewards taken away from your account, but giving that real money to Blizzard and giving the gold to boosters is completely ok.
Blizzard knows what they're doing. It's not that the sketch carry market is their "fault" it's working exactly as intended.

They are playing the game. How do you think they got the gold?
-19
u/Top-Tadpole-820 2h ago
Most likely? Bought the tokens.

u/mr_feist 1h ago
It still to this day baffles me how there's a direct correlation between real money and WoW gold and people still go "oh! but if you got the gold yourself you're playing the game!".
And the best way to farm gold in WoW nowadays is to get a job that pays well.

u/dumxblonde 2h ago
yeah, just get CE and win the mount against 20 people.. it's so easy, everyone does it, how many CE mounts do you have?
10
u/GreenTeaRocks 2h ago
You're going to farm the mount for everyone in your raid group or you're in a shit guild. Everyone on the team should get it. It's 100% drop rate till end of expack at least.
3
u/Grrv 1h ago
It's actually against 6.6666666667 people because 3 drop per run and you dont have to get CE you just have to kill it before the end of the expansion. So you could even wait until the next patch and get full myth gear and it'll be even easier...
If we're gonna be assholes at least be accurate

is that mount going to be a 100% drop chance until the expansion ends? I might get it next season if so, just like with Jaina's mount back in bfa
