Addon Release / Update Old People's Toolkit 1.0: A World of Warcraft Forever Add-on

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwL32-CRNCc

Been vibing and working on the Old People's Toolkit version 1.0 release! 😄

CurseForge: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/old-peoples-toolkit

Goal: A fun, immersive and family friendly way to keep track of progress whilst you still take care of your responsibilities and yourself! 😄

A lot of information shows up as in-game buffs and debuffs (toggleable per tool)

Main features:

  • Where Was I?: A summarized pop-up at startup to remind you where you left off last time you played
  • Scroll of Remembering: An in-game notepad to keep track of your thoughts, own side-quests and tag enemies (or friendlies) you need to come back for later!
  • Quiet Times: automatically turns down volume during quiet times you decide. That way your family sleeps while you squeeze out an extra hour (or two?)
  • Stretch Reminder: Makes sure to remind you to stretch and help that body of yours stay vital and young. Only triggers out of combat!
  • Clock and Alarm: Simple clock that you can easily move and resize. Also has a little alarm attached to so you don't have to forget about time
  • Bedtime: Recurring alarm that helps you remember to catch some sleep.

  • Code Quality: We audit addons using Ketho's WoW API extension. Poorly optimized code, unnecessary global variables, or undisclosed AI usage will result in removal.

Not a bad premise, bu ultimately this is really just gimmicky.

I appreciate the effort that went into it, but I really don't see any reason anyone would choose this over alternatives.

Extra points for the video though, so many people don't even include good screenshots.

Definitely not as serious! 😄 I personally really like the buff and debuff icons to bring some flavor. If you're looking for more abstract and pure functional this is definitely not the kit for you 😄

I mostly had a lot of fun making and using it and thought to share! 😄

I couldn't find many, but there are some add-ons that touch on the same stuff.

I couldn't find one that does what mine does exactly, and found none that work with buffs/debuffs / "immersion"(lol).

I suggest a current session timer in case you have to argue how long you played and need proof. Also last session time saved.

Hahah, I'll add it to the considerations 😂
