What do you think?

Slide 1: Outscored every single player in the Eastern Conference Finals by a landslide (235 points, nearly 100 ahead of 2nd place) while carrying the Cavs to the series win.

Slide 2: Dominated the First Round scoring charts just as easily, dropping 241 points against the Pacers to lead the entire field as he outscored every single player in that series as well.

Slide 3: Set the all-time record for the most points in a single postseason heading into the NBA Finals with 612 total points.

Slide 4: Went toe to toe with Toronto's entire All-Star backcourt of DeRozan and Lowry, matching their combined scoring and efficiency output single handedly while also out producing them both in assists and rebounds as well.

Slide 5: Put on a historic shooting clinic night after night, churning out multiple 40- and 50-point masterclasses on elite percentages. With the most noteworthy being his classic performance in Game 1 of the 2018 Finals against the KD Warriors scoring 51 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, on nearly 60% FG% and 43% from the 3. He had a TS% of 69.2% in that game.

Hot Take: Luka will have less success than LeBron did on the Lakers

• Upvotes

Does this count as a hot take? It's pretty hard to win a Championship and FMVP.

It's also weird bc Lakers fans accept Luka way more than they do LeBron already.

I still think that it's remarkable that Charles Barkley led the NBA in 2pt FG% five consecutive seasons and TS% four consecutive seasons at only 6'4" tall as a member of the 76ers. Imo prime Barkley was one of the all-time most unique, entertaining & exciting players to watch in sports history!

Which of these hypothetical Big 3s would you build your team around?

  1. Magic + MJ + Hakeem

  2. LeBron + Kobe + Shaq

  3. Steph + Bird + KAJ

Assume all players are in their prime and spend their entire careers with your franchise.

Who'd you pick?

People don't realize just how good Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was in his prime.

All too many people think his consensus placement of nr. 3 on the all-time list is only because of longevity. And while he did have the greatest longevity ever until LeBron, he also had a top 3-4 peak ever in 1972 (behind Mike, Wilt and arguably Bron). This includes 35 PPG, 17 RPG, 5 APG, an officially estimated 1.4 SPG and 3.8 BPG, along with the highest single-season Win Shares AND WS/48, meaning no player has ever impacted his team's winning like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in his peak. Is he the GOAT?

Doc Rivers and Ty Lue are both overrated as coaches

Post image

I think Doc Rivers and Ty Lue are both overrated as coaches. They’re just really good at playing the NBA politics game and navigating all the behind-the-scenes stuff. They’ve coached a lot of big-name players, but their in-game adjustments are pretty underwhelming. Ty Lue is probably a little better than Doc in that regard, but honestly, I think those two were part of the reason the Clippers never won a championship.

Simmons cooked last night. He is the real generational talent. He has actual skills unlike Wemby who’s just tall

What happens if the 2002 Sacramento Kings won the championship?

This team was amazing. The WCF is one of the most controversial series in all of sports. Whether it was rigged or not has been beaten to death. But I'm wondering if the Kings won, what would have changed in NBA history? Would C Webb be considered a top 20 all time great like Dirk was after he won? Would Kobe and Shaq still be considered as great with one less ring?
