Questions & Discussion 3D modeling

Hi everyone! 👋 I’m currently using Maya, but I’m still learning the 3D modeling side of it. Where do you recommend taking online classes with a real instructor (not YouTube tutorials)? Or is there another 3D modeling software that’s more beginner-friendly, intuitive, and faster to learn? I’d love to hear your recommendations and personal experiences. Thanks! 😊

3d is hard. That's just it. There is no easy way or magic secret easy software.

I recommend looking into the Rookies school rankings: https://www.therookies.co/schools/rankings

Additionally if you want more advanced tutorials you can check out The Gnomon Workshop https://www.thegnomonworkshop.com/

Do yourself a favor and buy Elementza hard surface training is 2 full courses with very cool projects and his first videos he teach you about Topology, Edge Flows and Redirection Edges. The cons is that there is no discord server or community for the courses

Hello u/gennyelizabethgall. Welcome to the best craft there is.
If you are after courses with 1:1s and individual approach, clearly laid out path, discord server and plenty of experience, check us out at polynexia.co.uk
Sadly, we currently only offer 3dsMax game-ready course. Whether Maya is ideal depends on what sort of 3D you want to do. Maya is generally regarded as best for animating, not so much for hard-surface modelling and unwrapping.

In any case, I hope you enjoy your learning journey!

The first thing i see on that site is horrible topology on that car. But i guess the beginners will not notice that.

You are absolutely right (the topology part). We'll work on that. One of the things that slipped through the cracks when we went life. I appreciate the message.
