Question Best bra type for breasts with a wide gap Spoiler

• Upvotes

Hi everyone !!

I’ve found that usually, when I purchase bras my breasts seem so wide apart that the bra either digs into my skin causing spillage, or when I wear push up bras, it doesn’t even push me up. I’m a 34c , and i’ve found that only wireless bras don’t dig into my skin and give me a slight pushup which i think is because it pushes them together slightly, although, i would like to make the switch to wired as i feel the look is just nicer. what is the best bra shape/specific bra for breasts with a wide gap?

balconette bras in specific really accentuate the gap between my breasts and frankly makes it seem like i have no possibility of having cleavage.

also, could it be my size is just completely wrong? my band is around 31.5-32 inches while my bust is 34.5-35 inch

Measurement Check Online options show a smaller underbust size than the recommended size for my underbust Spoiler

Hi,
I’m new to this sub and recently took my measurements to discover my recommended size is 36FF (UK)/ 36H (US)
These are my measurements:
Underbust
Loosely - 36.5
Snuggly - 35.8
Tightly- 35
Bust
Standing - 42.5
Leaning forwards 90 degrees - 44
Lying down - 40

I’ve been wearing 38C/40D my entire life and was really surprised to see this size and a bit concerned because I doubt I’ll get an H cup sized bra in my country (India).
I’ve look online and the highest size I got was a 36F but in those size guides the underbust mentioned is around 32 inches which is much smaller than my underbust.
Is my recommended size correct?

Washington folks! *The Pencil Test* Spoiler

If you live near the Seattle area you’ve got to check out the store “the pencil test”. There is also a location in Oregon.
The help at this store and the selection are both on the next level!! The staff is very professional and helpful, I was sized and got put in bras I would’ve never chosen for my self and one after another felt incredible. I could’ve easily bought 25 bras, the selection was truly insane and I’ve never felt so perfectly sized. I wound up buying 6 bras all around the $50-90 range which I was very happy with.
I had previously been a Victoria’s Secret wearer and sized at a 32D, turns out I’m a 32DDD-E!!! No wonder I wasn’t feeling comfortable.

Recommendations? Looking for an affordable 32B bra Spoiler

After thinking I was a 34A and living in sports bras, I got measured + used abrathatfits. I think I am a 32B, I have tried on many 32B bras since then, and I think it checks out.

If anyone has recommendations for a bra that's under 25 USD, I'd be forever grateful! Victoria Secret bras seem to fit but the prices don't work for me.

ABraThatFits says I'm 32C, maybe I was trying on weird bras that made me think I'm 32B, not sure. Here are my measurements if that is informative.
- Loose Underbust: 76cm

- Snug Underbust: 75cm

- Tight Underbust: 73cm

- Standing Bust: 84.5 cm

- Leaning Bust: 86.5 cm

- Lying Bust: 83.5 cm

Non Underwire Bras that work for Big Boobs? Spoiler

Does anyone have recommendations for non-underwire bras that actually work/are supportive for larger boobs? I'm a size UK 34F/US 34F, and really don't like underwire bras. Before anyone hits me with a "are you sure you're wearing the right size bra?", I recently got a professional bra fitting done (this is also my ABTF size) and bought bras recommended by them from great brands. They fit like a glove, I just don't like the feeling of an underwire on me all day. I'd love a bra that still smooths me (ie: I can wear under a tight shirt, ideally that has padding so I'm not showing nipple so I can wear them to work) and gives good support without the underwire. Located in Canada but I'll be spending 2 months in Portugal coming up so I can always get things to ship there instead.

Recommendations? Freya Deco molded plunge bra too tall for shallow chest, what bras to try instead? Spoiler

I recently gained more weight and truly can't stay in my old bras anymore (65D EU but in need of a smaller band). Bought the Freya Deco molded plunge bra in size 60F since all my previous bras were molded cups and either plunges or tshirt bras but turns out I could've fit a whole boob on top of mine. Did not expect the bra to be this tall. I tried a 70D plunge bra in Hunkemöller since they don't carry 65E anymore and the cup did fit pretty well so I thought that would translate well into a smaller band bra. The band on the Freya Bra also wasn't as tight as I hoped for, more so comparable to my current 65 band bras. Does anyone have reccomendations for more shallow, wide set bras in a 60EU/28UK band? Preferably some plunges or t-shirt bras. Anything with side support!

Looking for a bra to play Janet in Rocky Horror

In kind of a specific situation and hoping to get some suggestions! I’m in rehearsals for Rocky Horror right now and in the show I’m in my underwear for most of it. I do a lot of running around the theatre and I think my current bra will just end up with my boobs out. I have quite big boobs and need a bra that’s cute but also has some real support. I got measured at Victoria’s Secret and was a 36DD and the bras fit kind of weird, as well as being really plain. So really in search of a white bra that’s flattering (maybe with lace or otherwise cute) that has a lot of support.

Does anyone have any suggestions for brands? I’ll have to order online.

Thank you!!

Measurement Check Need sizing help, first time wearing a bra Spoiler

Hello! I’ve never worn a real bra before due to being autistic and struggling with sensory issues. I’ve kept to sports bras in guesstimates of sizes and baggy clothing to hide my shape.

I’m 24 now, and as I’ve gotten older I’ve become obsessed with fashion. I want to start wearing bras so I can be more confident in fitted tops and dresses.

I did the sizing test and I received a 32DD.
I used cm, in order it’s: 80 loose, 78 snug, 72.5 tight, 90 standing, 100 leaning, 91 lying. I’m not sure if these were done completely correctly as I found it quite hard to measure myself lol.

I’ve tried a wireless bra today in 32dd and it feels off but I’m not sure whether it’s just because it’s new to me. The band feels tight, you can see slight bulging on the skin but it’s not unbearable. the straps also felt tight but if I make them looser the whole bra loses shape, collapses on itself/ roles underneath bust and a lot of flesh bulges out under my arm.

is this normal or does it mean my band or cup is wrong? Or is this just what wireless bras are like? should I look into other types?

thank u

Do Victoria's Secret Strapless Bras Actually Work? Spoiler

I'm a 40D (measured by Victoria's Secret, i know i know, but since I'm looking at buying there I wanna buy that size from them) and am wearing an off the shoulder dress next Saturday for an event. Do Victoria's strapless bras actually give support? I'm a teardrop shape too! If not, where's somewhere in person I can buy a good strapless bra for under like $70?

Thank you guys!

Thank You! Finally some bra success that made me cry!!

I am a large chested person with an "odd" breast shape. Originally the calculator told me that I am a 40J/K.

I have tried on so many bras, all different types and styles and sizes. VS only ever sized me for what they carried in store so I forced on a 38DDD and said that it will have to do. However it was also so uncomfortable that I went back to wearing sports bras and I have worn that bra maybe twice.

On the hunt for a potential strapless bra, JCPennys only carried up to a 44DD in strapless. I learned that a 40 band fits perfectly, as the calculator said, however I am certainly larger than a DD. While staring at the mirror, I had a thought... Why not take my band size and subtract from the standing rather than the leaning. With this, I decided to step away from strapless and try on the largest cup size i could find in this particular store: a 40G... still a smaller cup than what the calculator said, but I will try it on.

IT FIT. It fit perfectly. I was in awe! I also learned in that moment after browsing this sub some more from the fitting room trying to figure out why it fit so well yet the gore wasn't flesh with sternum that I have tubular breast. I always thought that this shape was only in smaller chests but after looking up examples of large tubular chests, I noticed it looked exactly like mine! (This also is likely why I fit in a G, with the J/K option not account for how much I could push in my chest and such)

The JCPennys bra I was trying on was a full coverage. This subreddit led me to go to a different store (I went to Lane Bryant because it was next door and I knew for a fact that they would carry a 40G) and try on balconette bras. They fit me perfectly with a more flush gore and the wire didn't stab my under arm.

All this to say, thank you ABTF! After about a week of exploring this page and learning about different bras and how shapes of chests can affect sizing, I have finally been able to find a bra that I feel comfortable and CONFIDENT in! I genuinely started crying in the car after buying 2 bras that fit me perfectly because I have been wanting this since for almost 10 years. i truly started to feel hopeless. Thank you, ABTF community. Everyone who has ever posted here has truly changed my life today.

Calculator says 32DD or 34D. I've been wearing 36C.

I am 40, have breastfed 3 babies (lots of up and down - was a US 34F for a while) and have recently lost weight. My boobs are fairly depleted and pendulous.

Sometimes, 36C is too big in the cup, sometimes it's too small. I know a lot depends on shape. I just don't know what shape to get, now that they're softer, some stretched skin at the top.

When I lean forward, they're sort of tube shaped now, when I stand up they're more teardrop shaped now. I just don't don't know what to do with them anymore.

They're also set far apart, and i have a long chest before my breasts start. I have an average to wide root. I can take any measurements that would help.

I'm looking for unlined support, preferably without an underwire, but I'll take one if I need to.

I also get some back pain from 36 bands that run a little small.

Question This came with my bra, how do I use it? Spoiler

It’s to convert the bra into a racer back but I have no idea how to use it lol. There’s a loop on the opposite end of the hook. Here’s a picture of it.

Measurement Check Korean swimsuit sizing conversions- 28DDD Spoiler

Hi! I just recently discovered this sub and am learning so much!! I haven't worn a bra in a few years, but I've been eyeing this swimsuit top from a korean brand that uses bra sizing and so I've been doing some research to find my correct size for good.
I took the ABTF test and got a 28DDD in US sizing, and a 60G/H in JP sizing (since I couldn't find anywhere online that confirmed KR and JP used the same sizing.

Here are my measurements:

  • Loose Underbust: 70 cm
  • Snug Underbust: 68.5 cm
  • Tight Underbust: 65 cm
  • Standing Bust: 80 cm
  • Leaning Bust: 85 cm
  • Lying Bust: 81 cm

I realize that each brand probably has their own sizing conventions, but since I can't find their sizing guide anywhere, I thought I would come here and see if anyone has any experience with KR bra sizing or just any advice in general!

Measurement Check Size check and recommendations for someone with Bra Strap Syndrome? Spoiler

Hello!

I am finally trying to find bras again that actually fit after I have developed Bra Strap Syndrome. I thought my old pairs fit fine but apparently I was wrong.

The calculator this reddit provides says I'm a UK 38E (apparently 38DDD in USA) and live in the USA. This feels very large compared tot he size I got in the past (C) and a tiny band (last time I bought 40Cs)

My measurements are (in inches) 39 loose underbust, 37 snug underbust, 34 tight underbust, 43 standing bust, 46 leaning bust, 44 lying bust.

My shape is as one chart in the guide mentions Even 2/5 I believe? (this guide https://imgur.com/a/zU9AY3r provided by this reddit)

I know I'll need wider straps to support everything and avoid my shoulders and neck taking the brunt of the weight. I am having a hard time on what kind to look for?

I'm not a fan of underwire but I'm willing to look at them, but I would like a brand or style I could start with to try on once I finally have the time to drive down to different shops. If it helps I know I can easily drive out to a Hanes, Dillards, Bloomingdales, and a place called Soma.

I guess I just need a step in the right direction. I'm horribly out of depth and having a reading issue to boot makes all the guides incredibly hard to read. Been trying for days now to understand it before posting here.

Recommendations? 30 E/F Looking for recommendations for bras for wide roots, even fullness, and a slightly side set. Spoiler

Measurements:

Loose: 30

Snug: 29

Tight: 27.7

Standing: 34.6

Leaning: 37

Laying: 36

Self diagnosed wide roots, even/slightly outer fullness, and slightly wide/side set, just based off beginners guide and pictures. Bending forward and from the side I see even tissue and from the front there's a little more tissue on the outsides.

I've tried panache envy in 30F, everything fits pretty good: the gore sits flat on my chest, the band is snug, breast tissue doesn't spill out of cups, BUT it digs into my sides/armpit area and gets really uncomfortable after wearing for a couple hours. I feel like it doesn't push in my breast tissue on the sides enough and just kind of sits almost on top of it? idk. It kind of gives me armpit boob. Also it doesn't really stay in place and shimmies up and down.

Also tried the freya offbeat in 30F and 30FF. Both didn't fit me, the gore wasn't sitting flat on my chest and I was spilling out the cups in both cup sizes (even though 30FF is supposed to be too big for me smh).

What should I try next?

I measured 36G but went up to 36GG as im 6 months post op 550cc OTM implants, it seems to fit comfortably, im unsure becuase it is it's not moulded, and i also like a bit more of lift (feel supported )which im used to to conceal my nipples, does anyone have any recommendations please.

Understanding calculator result Spoiler

Hi

Ive put my numbers into the calculator (loose, 34,snug, 32, tight, 31, standing 38, leaning 40, lying 38), and it comes out at 34E (uk).

Why is it giving 34 rather than 32 for the band size? (And any uk recommendations for a shopping starting point? I'm mid weight loss, so cheaper is preferable)

Ta!

Recommendations? 19F Need serious help in finding the right bra as a beginner🌸 Spoiler

Hii girlies!

What type of bra should I try as a beginner?

I'm 19F. I started college a few weeks ago and I'm not sure what bra to wear. I've only worn sports bras and padded camisoles till now so I have no idea where to start with regular bras. Honestly need help!!😭

I'm looking for something padded that gives a nice, rounded and lifted shape under T-shirts, hides the nips(i prefer padded ones), and makes my breasts look a little closer together. I don't like them left right. Mine are naturally teardrop and a bit wide set. I'd like some cleavage without that overly pushed up or pointy look. I want to look more put together in college.😭

I'm okay with underwire as long as it's comfortable and doesn't feel too tight.

What type of bra should I look for? A T-shirt bra, plunge bra, push-up bra, balconette or something else? I'm not looking for brand recommendations, just trying to figure out which style would work best for me!

Thanks in advance. ❤️

EDIT: I just checked in the abtf calculator and I'm 30DD/E

PSA Just a warning to those in UK who have returned Freya bras recently: check your refund amount very carefully Spoiler

I know a lot of people here like Freya bras, so just wanted to warn you that if you're in UK and tried any bras from Freya directly in the last 6 months (which you've then returned for a refund) please double check your refunded amount is actually correct!

I recently brought my first Freya bra to try and had to return it as the cups weren't suitable for my wide and shallow shape. However, they wrongly withheld the initial delivery cost from my refund amount and would not return it. I have had to resort to a chargeback with the bank to finally get this back.

If you have returned your whole order, within 14 days, you MUST legally receive your initial standard delivery charge back. So your refund total should be matching the exact amount you initially paid, with no deductions. Freya are not doing this.

Please double check that there's not a £3.99 missing from your refund, as I can't imagine this is just me they've done this to.

Fit Check [Fit Check] Armpit issues from 38C->38G Spoiler

First time poster, long time pondering. I was shocked by the calculator saying I'm 40G/H as I've always worn stretchy 38C bras. I sized down to 38G since the calculator said people often do this for large cup sizes. I think the cup size is right, but I can't figure out if the band is too small or if I'm just not used to more structured bras... The band itself doesn't feel tight, but I feel like my armpits are being squeezed.

Shape Help What bra shape if my breasts keep spilling out at the front creating a double 🍒 look?

I'm size 36 F-H and I just can't find any bras that fit... Wired bras dig into my ribs no matter what waist size they are, and when I find wireless ones that are comfortable my boobs just spill out at the front and looks rediculous in clothes and then start hurting after a short while..

I've been wearing sports bras for a few years now due to pregnancies and bras digging into my ribs but I'm starting to have shortness of breath (I can breathe if I'm holding them up with my hands lmao) and need to get normal bras but don't know what "shape" I need

I keep crying bras and wasting money.. Just got two sets today and forgot to get a receipt and theyre extremely uncomfortable and I just want to cry

Link for example of how my breasts look

EDIT: calculator results: 34 E / F

Loose underbust - 88

Snug underbust - 81

Right underbust - 82

Standing bust - 100

Leaning bust - 103

Lying bust - 109
