As an author who has a few of these: A few nice comments and kudos actually got me back to working on them. I wouldn’t have picked them back up so soon without encouragement.

I get it. I’ve found a ton of them as a reader. I try to comment when I can and if not I at least leave kudos.

A lovely comment almost had me continue a fic I'd left sit abandoned for 10 years. I didn't, only because I was busy working on community event stuff that head deadlines. But almost...

I'm used to it. I don't mind reading fics that may never conclude. It's the experience in the moment that is fun.

Those are the best kind! I love finding newly posted ongoing fics and giving the author verbal kisses to encourage them. In a dying fandom that's the best tbing you can do.

So many, and it hurts so much. I always leave a kind comment of encouragement, but that's only worked once.
