Into the void I can't
I've been watching this TV show lately and I just saw the wedding that's the finale of the show. all of the beautiful moments that the bride had with her dad and her mom and I just feel like my soul is just crushing more and I didn't even know that was possible . I've been engaged for about two years now and I keep putting it off because I know my wedding will not be the same without my parents and I just don't know how to get past that. I just really want to give up. I'm so tired but I know that's not what my parents want. I don't know how I'm gonna live the rest of my life without them.

I feel for you. My dad died 10 years ago and my mom just about a year ago. Witnessing major life events without them, especially my mom, is tough. But, as you said, think about what they would want for you. I know it’s tough. But they would want you to embrace the joy in the life you have, the life that they gave to you and nurtured you into adulthood (this is assuming you had a loving childhood). For me, I know it can be comforting to wallow in sadness and sorrow. For me it’s a form of remembrance, like if I stay rooted in my sorrow then my parents won’t be forgotten. But logically I know that’s not true. I know I won’t forget them, even if I allow myself to be happy. Allow yourself to be happy! Don’t self-sabotage.
