Guys are yall idiots?
How we gonna fend for ourselves if we become independent? Think about it. We'd just make ourselves vulnerable next to a place with a president that would 70% take us and make us the 51st state. I know Carney aint the most popular around here, but would you rather Trump? Think, guys.

Edmontons Friday Oct 16th rally at the Expo.
Nenshi running into Bonnie Critchley in the front row was a fun Alberta lore moment, good to see her out. Their interaction was a lot of fun, I'm meh on Nenshi but he was genuinely having a good time and I love to see that.
Speakers were all similar and on point. GET OUT AND VOTE! This is bigger than us and our generations, long term consequences for apathy await. Your vote matters.
I did have to dissociate from being in a large crowd for awhile so I did some batch counting of the upper bowl seats and likely botched counting of the floor. My estimate on attendance was 6000 to a max of 8000.
Security was thorough and visible which is excellent in these times. From what I saw 2-4 people were ejected for yelling during quiet moments in a section of speech about Veterans. The nature of the yelling was impossible to determine for me but they got yoinked for sure. One person behind me yelled "no more pipelines"... Directly before the Prime Minister spoke with excitement about our plans for new pipelines. Mildly awkward moment for them, not sure they got yoinked or not.
Overall an encouraging and entirely overwhelming experience, nearly slept on the packed train home.

Current Events Us tourism envoy claims that the Canadian boycott of the US is ‘theft’
travelweekly.comThis kind of abusive shaming from the Trump admin isn’t going to work, and it just shows how much pressure they are under to be making such deranged statements.
The funniest thing I noticed was that the envoy is titled ‘Presidential Envoy for American Tourism, Exceptionalism & Values’ 😆

Jason Kenney: "I ask people as they're considering voting, put their minds forward to November 11th [and] the sacrifices of Albertans who lie below gravestones with the maple leaf on them. We do not have the right to rupture what they built and what they sacrificed for."

Guthrie: Tomorrow is the final day to vote in Alberta's referendum. For me, being Canadian is personal. In 1980, when I was just 11 years old, my family was caught in the outbreak of the Iran–Iraq War. Our community was bombed & lives were lost. When we needed help, Canada was there.

Current Events What do you make of these maps? (Referendum polling projections)
The obvious note is that, as with 338canada, nobody polls individual ridings. I've looked at a couple of these polls and they don't even break down Northern Alberta, Southern Alberta, Central Alberta - it's just Edmonton + Calgary + Rest of Alberta.
That said, I struggle with anxiety and am hoping to still have my country. I want my riding to be a part of that. Two of these maps show it as a remain, one (the most recent) for independence. I am nervous.
