Fire
The house across the street from me, in an older neighborhood on very small lots, burned down the other night. I slept through the entire thing. I’m serious. My car was in front of the house and approximately 30 feet from the burning structure. The entire neighborhood smells like smoke, as does my car. Can I get someone to pay for a professional smoke cleaning?

Your neighbor's house burned down, displacing their family who is now facing unbelievable financial struggles and the loss of their home and you want someone to pay to clean your car?
No, you need to take care of your own car.

Making some awfully big assumptions, aren’t you? The house was vacant, it wasn’t insured…Hell, I’ve already sent provisions to my friends in each of the houses on either side.
I was including my own insurance company in the possible answers. I’m not gonna make a big deal if they aren’t gonna cover it. Just looking for someone who might have gone through it.
I know being holier than thou is a burden on you, just…be better.

You might be able to get the city to help. Not the same but had a tree branch fall through a car window as it was backing down the driveway and the city paid for the window and cut the tree down. Tree was on city property.
