Is it normal that my endo wants to lower my dose from 2mg gel a day to 1mg because my peak is 418pg/ml?

Sandrena gel 2mg daily, peak is 418pg/ml, my endo insisted to lower my dose to 1mg daily because he says I'm risking some thrombosis deasese or something and if I get that I'll have to stop the hormone treatment altogether. I even warned him to his face that I will keep getting 2mg daily even if I have to get what I don't have out of my own pocket, and he said that's my own risk I'm taking. Is he wrong or right?

Is this normal?

I’ve been on hrt for 4/5 years, first 2 years I was on Lupron & e patches gradually increasing, then I came off Lupron and maintained high e and low t for 2 years no problem, during this summer I got my bloods done my t had increased to 2.89 nmol/l, I then got them checked again and my t had increased to 7.48 nmol/l (super alarming) I was really really stressed but I’ve put it down the the fact I was on evorel patches at the time of my test and since have gone back to estrodot and got another blood test which my t was 3.5 nmol/l (not perfect I know but I don’t think it’s in the danger zone). Anways my endocrinologist has discharged me I’ve been on hrt since I was 16 so I don’t have access to blockers anymore, but since I’ve maintained perfect levels before on monotherapy, I’m thinking my e just needs to climb back up after the evorel blib. Also for reference all my tests were done at trough. What do you guys think??

Also nsfw:
I can’t really understand like when I was on Lupron and my t was not even there I was still producing ejaculate, then for a while it stopped completely only a drop, then last year it was a lot but completely clear. Now it’s not a lot but it’s more milky than before; but it really quickly turns into basically water?? I don’t know if that means anything?? Or if I should be worried because it’s been about 3 or 4 months since all this happened and I generally feel completely fine and I’m not having any side effects, but I am constantly examining my ejaculate to try and identify what is happening with my hormones ( I know it’s not an accurate way to tell) but is it possible I can still ejaculate like this even with surpressed t?

Loss of Pelvic Floor / Bladder Control?

Hi, I'm 25 MTF, been on EEn and Prog for about 4 years now.

Noticed that I have a lot of bladder pain in the morning, and also struggling to hold my pee in for longer?

It's become kind of a concern now but I was wondering if HRT affects this?

injections or pills?

as the title says and I’m almost certain this topic has been beat to death, but I just wanted some advice that personally relates to my situation. I’m 19 and I live in the state of Wisconsin and my insurance is Blue Cross Blue Shield.

i’m looking into using plant parenthood within the next couple months to start medically transitioning and was wondering if injections or pills were worth it long-term. I’m not necessarily the most well-versed, but I’ve heard good things about injections, but I’m also kind of worried that they may be more expensive by an amount that isn’t worth it.

I’m not necessarily well off financially as I’m going to college and only working part-time, but I’d probably be able to stomach the cost monthly for this. But I was also wondering what I need in terms of supplies for both. I don’t really know how the injection medication works in the sense that is it an all-in-one (blockers and actual estrogen) or if I need multiple different vials and have to inject multiple times. I am aware that I need other sort of supplies like a sharps container and needles, though. I’m thinking for pills that I think you need different types of medication but like I said, I’m really not that versed. Any help is appreciated!

Is 2mg of E daily too little?

Hi cutiess,

I started HRT on 9/9/26. From where I live HRT is not readily available nor is recognized.Because of the way the legal system work here, HRT is only avaliable for menopausal women.

I was able to find this doctor who specializes in transgender health. I’m not sure if he is a proper endocrinologist though. He prescribes me with 10mg of Estradiol Valerate Injection per 5 days and 50mg of Sprino Acetate (Androcur) daily which equates to 2mg of E daily and 50mg of Anti Androgen daily

I’m traveling to Thailand in 24 hours in order to get a proper endocrinologist. Do you think 2mg of E injections and 50mg of AA daily is too little starting out? Should I talk to my endocrinologist about my current HRT regimen maybe ask for an increase in dose or should I get a blood test for my hormones and see what it’s like at the trough level?

Thank you all💕

Is the stability of your estrogen levels just as important as the actual level itself?

Overly sensitive nipples on HRT

I am in week 6 of HRT now and I recently started to notice that my nipples are VERY sensitive. I have been expecting the "painful" breast period that many describe having, as the bud grows. However, I don't recall anyone discussing just how sensitive my nipples would get. I am talking VERY arousing kind of sensitive. I can't stop touching them and even my tops moving over them, is driving me wild. Is this normal or is it in my head? I don't mind it, but it can be a bit distracting, especially at work.

Low starting dose?

Hey everyone!

So today I sent my endocrinologist my blood work results, and she prescribed me 1mg oral estradiol a day. No spironolactone at all. She also wants my next check up to be in six months. So six months with just 1mg daily estradiol. Now, from what I've read, it's usually three months between check ups on the first year, or something like that, right? I'm very tempted to send her an email on Monday asking about these topics, maybe up the dose to 2mg? I know on the appointment I had with her this past Thursday she commented on how she usually prescribes up to 4mg later on, which I also think is kind of low?

Now, were it up to me I'd maybe try and switch doctors, but I'm not out to my dad. And I'm on his insurance plan, turns out blood works are really fucking expensive without insurance, so that's the bottleneck right now. What should I do?

What does hrt do to the testicles?

What does hrt do to testicles? What are changes? I saw somewhere that the texture/ smell of it will change. Will only the size change or will anything else change? I couldn't really find any useful info online about this. I want to know the changes that will happen physically and changes in sensation.

Addition question:
What is the so called libido and i read somewhere it changes? How and what may it?

pills having a smell?

hello everyone!! i ran into a snag a few months ago where i was concerned that my hrt got messed up. I take estradiol pills sublingually, and right after i got my refill (i get three months at a time) i left them in a room that didn’t have AC during a heat wave, so they stayed at over ninety degrees for around ten hours. i noticed after that that the pills developed a noticeable smell, almost akin to rotten eggs, but i wasn’t sure if i was just being anxious and reading too much into it.

well i finally got my refill but i feel like my fears were confirmed when my new batch not only didn’t have that smell, but were a much brighter blue. it was the same brand, same shape, color, markings, etc. it was just like it had faded. so after i beat myself up for wasting about three months worth of time I’ve been happy having pills that I know are working again.

except here recently I noticed the smell coming back, an almost sweet smell, like vanilla or cake batter, and it’s only grown stronger. and I ended up comparing them side by side again and they’re the exact same color. I’m not really sure what to do or what I could’ve done wrong, if i did anything wrong at all. I’ve made a point to keep them in a dark space and never let my room get that hot again. there’s absolutely nothing that could’ve triggered any sort of change. they stay in the dark in my bedside table, and I always keep my room cold.

so i’m just kinda at a loss. am I just in my own head about it, or did something cause these pills to degrade? I’m ten months in and I feel like I haven’t really had any changes or progress (my levels were good last i checked, but this was before my pills went bad before.) I just wanted to try here and see if anyone had any advice or if I’m just going crazy and reading too much into things.

Super worried about DHT

Ever since reading that it can happen with low t levels I’ve been insanely stressed about having high DHT levels since I do diy and I CANNOT afford another blocker to block DHT, so I guess if I did have high I would be a transition fraud:(,
My latest tests for blood was 2 weeks ago and I had
t: 1.23 nmol/l
LH and FSH: under 0.3 U/l
However I’m still super worried about DHT since I do catch millisecond whiffs of male body odor when I do stuff but when I smell myself and my armpits it smells like my perfume/deodorant or just smells insanely weakly if I don’t have those things on. Also the longer I inspect my body hair the thicker it seems to appear as each second passes. Is there actually a way for my body to make DHT when my t is suppressed and I’m not on prog yet?

Reality Check HRT Regimen

So I take 6 mg E, 100 progesterone oral, and 50 mg spiro (was on 100 recently dropped to 50)

4 e mg swallow 50 spiro 5 am, 2 mg swallow 3 pm, 100 progesterone 9pm.

Levels 180 E, 30 T. T suppression maybe less now because it was tested at the 100 level and these level were taken at 2 pm.

Is this stable ? Good? Sometimes I add a sublingual day, but was thinking of sublingual three times a day instead.

My results are okay. It’s been 11 months.

Crazy jump in E level

So I've been on oral Estrogen (monotherapy) since last December. Started at 2mg 12/25, upped to 4 mg 2/26, 6mg 4/26 and 8mg 8/26.

2/26 my E was 74 PG/ml, T was 420 ng/dl

4/26 my E was 150 PG/ml, doc didn't order T 😑 said it wasn't necessary to know every time. I asked for it every time after that.

6/26 my E was 192 PG/ml, T was 198 ng/dl

And then 10/26 E shot up to 405 PG/ml, T tanked to 50 ng/dl

All the blood levels were taken before upping the E dose. All the tests were taken at the same time of day, same amount of time from my last dose of E.

My doc said previously when I was at 192 PG/ml of E that I could up the dose to try and further suppress T if I wanted to (I would prefer to avoid a T blocker). She said as long as my E is between 200-400 pg/ml that's fine. It's only when it's over 400 that it's problematic.

So two questions I guess:

1) conventional internet and reddit wisdom says 200 pg/ml is target. I've never heard of the 200-400 range thing before. Anyone have any insight? Truthfully I didn't expect my E to double like that, I thought it might increase by like 50-75 PG/ml and stay closer to 200

2) What the french happened that when I last increased my dose by 2mg it doubled my E level and reduced my T level by 75%?

Mental breakdown and hrt

TLDR: I am on gel and had a longer than usual time between applications yesterday. I am wondering if it might have caused a mental breakdown.

Hello y'all, I have been on E gel for 2 weeks now spread twice a day, one in the morning and one before bed.

Yesterday I woke up early so I applied it around 8:30 and went to an event in the evening. It lasted a while and I ended up grabbing food and talking with a friend after so I only got home at around 3:00 so I went about 20hrs between my 2 doses.

During the evening I started being emotionally unstable. I was having a great time but the tiniest of details would make me breakdown :/

My question is whether you think this could have been from taking too long between applications?

i am pretty sure i contaminated a new vial.

ok, i guess im writing this to ask a question that realistically i know the answer to.

long story short, ive been transitioning for a little over a year using estradiol valerate injections and progesterone.

last night was injection day and i drew up the last bit of medicine of one of my vials into my syringe. i noticed it was low, and without thinking i opened a new vial and stuck the *same syringe* in to draw up the rest of my meds. i pulled slightly extra and then squee the excess into the vial.

as soon as i did it i realized i fucked up. transferring meds from one vial to the other is like a biiiggggg no no and i am scared i just wasted a fresh new vial. i feel so stupid and anxious now that i’m down one vial in a conservative state. i need to check when i can refill my prescription.

should i just throw the vial away and cut my losses? that’s what im leaning towards.

Emotions going wild on progesterone?

I posted a "vent" post in another forum recently, but it's starting to become an issue. I may need actual advice.

I am 45. Been on HRT just over a year now. (That egg had a dummy thicc shell, y'all.) Happy with my progress so far. I'm in my second week of prog now (100 mg oral daily). Hoping for some of the boob rounding-out effects some people report. As can happen for those of us starting HRT late in life, my boobs do face outward a bit. Glad to have them at all! But having them fill out in the middle a little would be welcome. But hey, we get what we get!

And sure enough, since starting prog, I've felt the tenderness and aching that tends to happen when I'm in a growth phase. Maybe that's the prog, maybe I was just due for growth. They've been awfully sensitive, though.

The thing is, I don't know if it's the prog or some recent life stress or what, but I have been bursting into tears or occasionally just having mini freakouts over things that should be minor annoyances. And the brain fog is getting pretty bad. I've always had to fight my ADHD - finding workarounds, figuring out tricks to improve my focus when I needed to, etc. But lately it's just been like trying to run in beach sand, you know? A lot more effort to keep up the same pace.

It's not out of control or anything. It hasn't gotten in the way of work or caused any problems at home. But dang, it's making getting through the day a bit harder. I just feel like I'm having a lot more trouble regulating my emotions and concentrating.

And that's something that going on E actually helped for me. I mean, I have been more able to cry in general on E, but overall, I have felt more in control of myself than before I started. Maybe that was the T to E switch or maybe it was just the relief of finally doing something I knew I needed to do. But either way, this has been rough.

Do I just need to wait this out and give myself time to adjust to a new hormone. Am I just going through another weird puberty thing or something?

Oh, and speaking of puberty... That other prog side effect is apparently a thing for me, at least. Without letting this get into NSFW territory, yes, I'm also getting weirdly horny now. If I'm honest, that part isn't the worst thing. Maybe a little distracting, but...

Well, that's the thing! I'm basically sad or horny or overwhelmed or foggy-brained or some combination of the four pretty much all the time and being trans is hard sometimes!

OK. Real talk: Is this the prog? I really, really want to give prog a fair shake. I've been looking forward to trying it for a while. Glad my insurance is playing ball. My doc and I were both comfortable giving it a try at the one year mark. I'll definitely message my doc if things actually become a serious problem.

And if anyone has any advice or experience on adjusting to progesterone, please lay it on me!
