Can Progesterone fix tuberous breasts?

• Upvotes

i took bio-identical progesterone orally for 18 months, but it didn't work, so I decided to look into breast reconstruction surgery.

I've recently heard that taking it rectally means it is more effective. Should I try rectal? How long would it take?

If you took progesterone, did it fix your tuberous breasts? (this is a medical condition different from just small breasts)

Binders? Sports bras?

What would be best for early boymoding in a work tshirt? Its not a huge problem yet as im pretty early in on hrt but if you were paying attention you can already see my nipples pokin out a bit and i cant keep just wearing hoodies daily to work for much longer past this winter😭

Also?

People say binders can damage your breasts early on but is it like actual injury or is it just stunted growth? I really would prefer to stay small on my chest if not flat... if using a binder is legitimately *safe* then im considering that, but it doesnt sound like it is to me.

HRT - Side effekts?

Dear Readers,
I am planning on starting a HRT Treatment, but am still concerned about certain changes. I would be very grateful if you could share your experience and possible solutions.

The tow side effects im worried about most are:

Erektions.
Essentially long Term effects of Hrt on Erektions. I am a person who enjoys them and it feel like they play quite the important role for my sex life. Are there possibilities to maintain the ability to have hard erektions even after years of being on HRT? Through practice or potential medical help like viagra or through low does hrt?

Kids.
Or more specifically the ability to produce sperm that can create life. I have set up a sperm bank in order to be on the safe side, but still wanted to ask have any of you had the ability to have fertile Sperm after years of being on HRT?
I would really appreciate your help in answering these questions.
All the best,
Felice.

Should I half my dose?

My current prescription is going to run out a week before my next appointment and I’m wondering if I should just take 1 pill a day until then to last me until the appointment instead of not having any for a week. I’m taking 50 mg of spiro and 1 mg estradiol twice a day. I tried to call planned parenthood to get a refill and haven’t been able to get through to a human or get a response.

A drop of water from my hair got into my estrogen pill bottle

Hey everyone! I have a question about something that happened the other day, and I’ve been a little worried about it.
I was taking my estrogen pills after getting out of the shower, and while I was leaning over my pill bottle to take one out, a drop of water fell from my hair and landed inside the bottle. It mostly landed on one pill, which I immediately removed and set aside.
However, before I could take the other pills out to check them, the moisture had already dried to the point where I couldn’t really tell which ones, if any, had gotten wet. The pills didn’t appear visibly damaged, but I obviously can’t say for certain whether any of the others were affected.
I’m mainly concerned about whether even a small amount of water could affect the potency or effectiveness of the remaining pills, especially if some moisture briefly got on them before drying.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or does anyone know whether this is something I should be concerned about? Would the pills still be okay to take as usual, or would it be safer to replace them?
Any advice or information would be appreciated. Thanks!

Pressure in chest

Hello. I recently got bottom surgery and had to stop taking my injections. I took my first post-op dose yesterday in the morning. In the evening I had a pressure in my chest and ended up going to the emergencies.

They ran a bunch of tests but found nothing at all, I'm as healthy as can be.

I take 0.10mL from a 50mg/mL vial of EEn (normally every week).

Any ideas?

Any tips for your endo appointment?

I’m going for my second ever appointment with my endocrinologist. The first time around I felt clueless about HRT, the types of testosterone blockers available to me, as well as the type of estrogen available to me. It was all sort of explained to me and now I have my estrogen (in pill form) and my t blocker.

My question is that my second appointment is coming up in a few weeks, does anybody have any suggestions for things I should check up on with my doctor, or certain things I should be asking for? Especially since endocrinologists are sometimes lacking in knowledge about HRT so I wanna hear it from the girls directly who have been through that route ❤️

Estrogen not working anymore?

I'm about 6 months in on 3-4 pills of 2mg a day & 2-3 pills of 50mg Spiro

It's been normal & I've seen changes with my like breast size and puffing, also noticable dark stretch marks around my hip area, smell changes & etc. but now it's started to disappear, I still take it the same and with no issues but now my smell is reverting, puffing around the nipples is gone, breast growth is reduced and has gotten smaller & stretch marks around my body aren't as noticeable as before.

Around 3 months I did a blood test & it showed high estrogen & extremely low too basically 0 T

I'm worried if the estrogen I'm taking is becoming ineffective or if something in my body is forcing T for some reason or if there's something wrong with my body, should I maybe see my prescriber/doctor?

Opinions about latest test please x

Slightly confused over latest results.

I'm a 51 year old m2f. I've been on my current dose of 3 x 2 mg elleste solo tablets per day since may, previously I was on 2 x 2mg from the new year. I had my bloods done in April before moving to the stronger dose. My oestradiol in April was 451 pmol/l, my T was 13.2. Just had my bloods done again, my Oestradiol has dropped 287 pmol/l , my T has dropped to 0.52 nmol/l . Free T is 0.004 nmol/l I do not take a blocker. I take tablets at 0700. 1430 and around 2200. Sublingualy. The blood was taken at 1210. Should I keep my current dose? Or move to 8mg per day? Thanks for reading! I'm getting good physical results btw.

Strange effect of adding finasteride to HRT

Maybe it blocks DHT but slightly increases T in me. From ~20 pg/ml to ~35 pg/ml.
Also I got libido when I added finasteride to HRT, while E+T blocker+progesterone alone made me completelly asexual.

I wonder if finasteride does more harm than good in my case, i.e. promotes new body hair grow due to increased T etc.
Increased libido and more oily skin is also hard to explain then and Im worried that's a sign of increased androgens.

Weird dosage

Posting this for my partner; I am cis but am familiar with trans hrt and the prescription they just got from their doctor caught me off guard.

The scrip on mychart is estrogen valerate 20mg/ml; 1ML PER WEEK?? Am I insane or is this an insanely high dose? The scrip is for a 5ml bottle and says it's good for 35 days, so the math seems correct but the dosage doesn't. They were also prescribed spiro but don't intend on taking it; they want to do monotherapy.

Considering feminising HRT but wanting to remain male-presenting, with substantial natural breast growth. Looking for advice and experiences.

Hi everyone,
I’m considering starting feminising HRT and would really appreciate some honest advice and experiences from people who have been through it, particularly those who have continued presenting as male.
I’m currently male-presenting and generally happy with my masculine appearance. I’m not necessarily looking to transition socially or start presenting as a woman in everyday life, but I would really like to experience some of the physical changes that oestrogen can provide.

My ideal outcome would be:
Breast development: This is my biggest goal. Ideally, I’d love to develop naturally large breasts, around a D-DD cup or potentially larger, without implants or surgery. I understand this is uncommon and genetics play a huge role.

Body shape: I’d like to maintain a relatively slim, lean figure, with less upper-body muscle and a softer, more feminine fat distribution. Ideally, I’d want to maximise natural breast development while keeping my waist and overall frame slim.

Facial appearance: I’d like to remain recognisably myself, with slightly longer hair, keep my facial hair and perhaps some subtle facial softening from HRT.

Male presentation: I’d still want to wear my normal masculine clothes, such as jeans, fitted T-shirts, shirts, jumpers and gilets. Ideally, I’d be able to conceal my breast development when necessary and have it noticeable when I choose.

Timeframe: I’m thinking about what might realistically be achievable after approximately five years of medically supervised HRT, rather than expecting immediate results.
For reference, my chest currently measures approximately 37 inches.
I’m particularly interested in hearing from anyone who’s experienced significant natural breast growth while remaining relatively slim, especially those who continue to present as male.

A few questions I’d love advice on:
How much natural breast development did you experience over your first five years, and did growth continue after the first couple of years?
Has anyone naturally achieved a D, DD or E cup through HRT alone?
Is it realistic to maintain a slim figure while developing and retaining substantial breast tissue?
How difficult is it to conceal larger breasts under everyday masculine clothing, particularly fitted T-shirts?
For those who continued presenting as male, how noticeable were your other physical changes?
Were there any unexpected physical, sexual or emotional changes that you wish you’d known about beforehand?
I appreciate that HRT affects much more than just breast development, and I’m interested in understanding the full experience, including the potential permanent changes and trade-offs.
I’m not looking for shortcuts or unsafe hormone regimens, just realistic expectations, personal experiences and any advice you wish you’d had before starting.
Thanks in advance!

Is it normal that my endo wants to lower my dose from 2mg gel a day to 1mg because my peak is 418pg/ml?

Sandrena gel 2mg daily, peak is 418pg/ml, my endo insisted to lower my dose to 1mg daily because he says I'm risking some thrombosis deasese or something and if I get that I'll have to stop the hormone treatment altogether. I even warned him to his face that I will keep getting 2mg daily even if I have to get what I don't have out of my own pocket, and he said that's my own risk I'm taking. Is he wrong or right?

Is this normal?

I’ve been on hrt for 4/5 years, first 2 years I was on Lupron & e patches gradually increasing, then I came off Lupron and maintained high e and low t for 2 years no problem, during this summer I got my bloods done my t had increased to 2.89 nmol/l, I then got them checked again and my t had increased to 7.48 nmol/l (super alarming) I was really really stressed but I’ve put it down the the fact I was on evorel patches at the time of my test and since have gone back to estrodot and got another blood test which my t was 3.5 nmol/l (not perfect I know but I don’t think it’s in the danger zone). Anways my endocrinologist has discharged me I’ve been on hrt since I was 16 so I don’t have access to blockers anymore, but since I’ve maintained perfect levels before on monotherapy, I’m thinking my e just needs to climb back up after the evorel blib. Also for reference all my tests were done at trough. What do you guys think??

Also nsfw:
I can’t really understand like when I was on Lupron and my t was not even there I was still producing ejaculate, then for a while it stopped completely only a drop, then last year it was a lot but completely clear. Now it’s not a lot but it’s more milky than before; but it really quickly turns into basically water?? I don’t know if that means anything?? Or if I should be worried because it’s been about 3 or 4 months since all this happened and I generally feel completely fine and I’m not having any side effects, but I am constantly examining my ejaculate to try and identify what is happening with my hormones ( I know it’s not an accurate way to tell) but is it possible I can still ejaculate like this even with surpressed t?

Loss of Pelvic Floor / Bladder Control?

Hi, I'm 25 MTF, been on EEn and Prog for about 4 years now.

Noticed that I have a lot of bladder pain in the morning, and also struggling to hold my pee in for longer?

It's become kind of a concern now but I was wondering if HRT affects this?

injections or pills?

as the title says and I’m almost certain this topic has been beat to death, but I just wanted some advice that personally relates to my situation. I’m 19 and I live in the state of Wisconsin and my insurance is Blue Cross Blue Shield.

i’m looking into using plant parenthood within the next couple months to start medically transitioning and was wondering if injections or pills were worth it long-term. I’m not necessarily the most well-versed, but I’ve heard good things about injections, but I’m also kind of worried that they may be more expensive by an amount that isn’t worth it.

I’m not necessarily well off financially as I’m going to college and only working part-time, but I’d probably be able to stomach the cost monthly for this. But I was also wondering what I need in terms of supplies for both. I don’t really know how the injection medication works in the sense that is it an all-in-one (blockers and actual estrogen) or if I need multiple different vials and have to inject multiple times. I am aware that I need other sort of supplies like a sharps container and needles, though. I’m thinking for pills that I think you need different types of medication but like I said, I’m really not that versed. Any help is appreciated!

Is 2mg of E daily too little?

Hi cutiess,

I started HRT on 9/9/26. From where I live HRT is not readily available nor is recognized.Because of the way the legal system work here, HRT is only avaliable for menopausal women.

I was able to find this doctor who specializes in transgender health. I’m not sure if he is a proper endocrinologist though. He prescribes me with 10mg of Estradiol Valerate Injection per 5 days and 50mg of Sprino Acetate (Androcur) daily which equates to 2mg of E daily and 50mg of Anti Androgen daily

I’m traveling to Thailand in 24 hours in order to get a proper endocrinologist. Do you think 2mg of E injections and 50mg of AA daily is too little starting out? Should I talk to my endocrinologist about my current HRT regimen maybe ask for an increase in dose or should I get a blood test for my hormones and see what it’s like at the trough level?

Thank you all💕

Is the stability of your estrogen levels just as important as the actual level itself?

Is having less variation between peaks and troughs and keeping things as flat as possible improve your mental health?

Overly sensitive nipples on HRT

I am in week 6 of HRT now and I recently started to notice that my nipples are VERY sensitive. I have been expecting the "painful" breast period that many describe having, as the bud grows. However, I don't recall anyone discussing just how sensitive my nipples would get. I am talking VERY arousing kind of sensitive. I can't stop touching them and even my tops moving over them, is driving me wild. Is this normal or is it in my head? I don't mind it, but it can be a bit distracting, especially at work.

Low starting dose?

Hey everyone!

So today I sent my endocrinologist my blood work results, and she prescribed me 1mg oral estradiol a day. No spironolactone at all. She also wants my next check up to be in six months. So six months with just 1mg daily estradiol. Now, from what I've read, it's usually three months between check ups on the first year, or something like that, right? I'm very tempted to send her an email on Monday asking about these topics, maybe up the dose to 2mg? I know on the appointment I had with her this past Thursday she commented on how she usually prescribes up to 4mg later on, which I also think is kind of low?

Now, were it up to me I'd maybe try and switch doctors, but I'm not out to my dad. And I'm on his insurance plan, turns out blood works are really fucking expensive without insurance, so that's the bottleneck right now. What should I do?
