Meta The attitude of these memory making companies.
As soon as the AI announcements of buying memory parts hit the market, they immediately began pricing up the existing stock! This is why I mentioned the names of the main memory makers. Even if the prices cool down in the near future, I'll wait months before buying any despite discount. I truly want them to feel the pain of low demand despite overstock and lower price. In this test of patience, guys, seriously, we consumers must not lose. What we need to do is be patient with our existing hardware and wait for far away releases such as UDNA, RTX 6000 series, AMD's Zen 6. Before that, I am certain that the newer gen PCs of 99% gamers will suffice for high-end workload. And those that have to upgrade their old hardware (like, really old), please take a peek into the second-hand market which is filled with hardware that must not be e-waste.
Sorry about being so negative, but I am very bitter about how these memory companies are treating us consumers. No, "it's just business" was never and shall never be a valid excuse.

Only Samsung, hynix and micron are the ram players. Rest doesn't matter even if they dabble

Cxmt already producing ddr5 and probably will start hbm production for huawei soon. So, they probably will become fourth big one in the future

I’d say in less than 5 years CXMT is gonna eat a lot of people’s lunch.

Which is good for the rest of us.

A lot of people are doubting CXMT, I don’t. They are proving they can keep up and surpass expectations.
I also don’t see future government parties lobbying against them as there’s massive shortages. They might not get used in government applications but they’ll be made available for consumer goods

They're China backed, so it makes even more sense for them to just flood the market and then expand internationally. With such prices, they basically have free funding to expand at will and they haven't even reached global markets yet.

Hasn't gone mass produced yet. Can't find any actual RAM they are selling either. Their website list down the RAMs line up they have but none for sale either there, and most of it are just ECC RAM not performance/gaming RAMs. Odd they haven't monitized from the RAM apocalypse be it us tje consumer, tech businesses and the damned AI companies.

Supply and HUGE DEMAND.
Terrafab + Intel + Chinese + (maybe one day TSMC if the stop sleeping) will only supply more ram to futur AI need for sure, there is no reason to think that Storage and RAM will go back to normal we have know.

Btw it's already 3 times they artificially increased prices. Hynix, samshung, micron are monopolists and they know that. I hope ongoing lawsuit they loose. Samsung is the company where almost every ex director in jail 🤣

Valve talked about ram pricing when discussing the Steam Machine.
RAM vendors would give them a price, valve could take it or get ignored. No negotiations.
