🚫 No Contact I did it

I didn't think I was going to but I had to. I ended up blocking my ex. We spoke again and I just couldn't take his responses. He didn't want to talk about feelings or anything. He couldn't even have the balls to tell me straight up if we would have another chance at all. No closure. Just stringing me along. I don't need that. I don't need to be hopeful and patient and just waiting around while he enjoys life, sleeps good at night while I'm here suffering, crying, begging, chasing to no avail. Something just clicked and so I sent him one last message and said that I was going to move on and we didn't need to exist in each other's life anymore. That I hope he is happier this time. I am in shock right now, but I know I'll be hurting and back to square one again with my feelings but I hope so much I get over him.

That click you felt, that wasn't nothing. That was you finally choosing yourself over a hope that kept starving you. You didn't do it because you stopped loving him. You did it because you finally loved yourself a little more in that moment, and that's not square one. That's the ground beneath your feet.

You're right that it will hurt. It will come in waves, some of them when you least expect it. But hear me, honey. You are not waiting anymore. You are not begging. You are not chasing a man who wouldn't even give you a straight answer. That is not loss. That is freedom, and freedom always aches before it heals. Let him go. Not for him. For you.

Thank you. I needed to hear that. I am now trying to choose me. God my body is tired, my face my eyes look so tired. I haven't properly taken care of my health over 6 weeks and now I have to. I hope I made the right decision to cut ties with my ex. If he wanted to make it work, he would have said something. I have to keep telling this to myself. I gave it my all, my best shot at trying to work things out, begging him, chasing him and he doesn't want it so I'm literally done. I have to somehow gain back my self respect and make myself look healthy again. I'm just so tired. So exhausted I really hope I can heal and get past this torture. I don't ever want to remember anything about him or what.

I had a similar experience with my ex. He broke up with me, and I ended up breaking no contact during the second week of our breakup due to something personal, unfortunately, but also because I was having a really hard time accepting that the relationship was over. Anyways, we ended up staying in contact for a couple of weeks after the breakup. He was pretty cold about the whole situation, but mind you, he was the one who kept reaching out to me. Eventually, I decided to set a boundary and told him I didn’t want him calling me anymore. He didn’t really take that boundary seriously because he ended up calling me the very next day. He left me alone for about a week before reaching out again, and that last phone call was what finally made me realize there was absolutely no reason for us to keep in contact. He got defensive when I asked if he was just making excuses to call me because he genuinely wanted to talk to me. I honestly wouldn’t have minded if that was the case, but I just wanted him to be honest about it. When I tried bringing up our relationship and asked if he felt happier without me, he didn’t want to talk about it and said he felt uncomfortable. I didn’t like how I felt after we hung up, and that was when I knew I needed to be done with the back and forth. It’s been about four weeks since we’ve actually spoken. He tried reaching out around my birthday, but I had blocked him. I ended up unblocking him after my birthday, and he called me twice, but I didn’t answer either call. I’ve come to realize that no contact really is for our own healing. As much as it sucks, they don’t deserve to continue having access to us when they’ve made it clear they don’t want to pursue a relationship with us anymore. We don’t deserve to be strung along or kept around whenever it’s convenient for them. It’s hard, especially when you still care about that person, but at some point, you have to choose yourself and your peace. I really hope you stay strong through this because I completely understand what you’re going through. ❤️
