Open to suggestions Dinner at industry conference

I'm attending a conference in my field of expertise (not traditional, and very niche) and they have a dinner party with music, dancing, etc. The theme is "dress to impress". I love these stockings but I don't know if they are appropriate. I may also change the dress...I'm planning to wear them with black leather boots (ankle height). What do you think?

I mean I don’t know that it is actually “fun day” but I’m going to will it so with the joy in my office look today. Patterned skirt brings some texture to any otherwise all black ensemble with hints of silver showing in my accessories.

Open to suggestions Dinner at industry conference - new outfits

I learned this is a bad outfit: https://www.reddit.com/r/BusinessFashion/comments/1x9lezw/dinner_at_industry_conference/ so I went back to my limited wardrobe looking for other outfits since unfortunately I don't have time to go shopping before the event. Hopefully one of them works, worst case scenario I'll wear black pants with a blue solid top. I don't have true black sheer tights but I guess I can buy those at Target, I may have time for that. I don't like the sequin look, I feel old but maybe it's just me. I don't have knee high boots because it's usually hard for me to find boots that can fit my legs (my ankles are too thick). I'm also short so I have this feeling they make me look shorter. Thank you again for your constructive feedback.

Smart Casual Need recommendations for your most comfortable oxford/loafer shoes (women’s)

We wear business attire, and for me, that’s typically dress slacks, button downs or t’s, with a smart blazer. My feet hurt too much for pumps or heels and my current loafers are getting tired. I want to get something very comfortable that will last and look the part.

I used to wear Clark’s because the brand used to fit my feet well, but they’re cutting their toebox narrow and they just don’t fit like they used to.

Naturalized used to work too, but they’re cutting their are too causal or you can’t find them in leather anymore.

Ideally, I’d find something that works and get it in every color.

Happy Monday! Kicking off a busy week with more of a casual vibe. Mostly all internal meetings these next two weeks as we prepare for our quarterly earnings. At least the rain finally took a break!

Pants by Ann Taylor, denim shirt by Walmart, cashmere cardigan by Banana Republic, belt by Avara, loafers by Franco Sarto and shearling bag by Chanel.

Help!

I am returning to the office after a year off and need to pull together a wardrobe. I abhor tight clothing on my stomach because I start feeling nauseous. All the “inspiration” I find includes tight pants and belts. I love the look, but know that I can’t tolerate it. What can I wear that looks polished but is looser?? (Dress code is smart casual, and I can’t have any exposed skin on my legs or ankles)
