She once hit a fan with a mic. Ticked off Holly is not to be crossed.

That's the Iowa game we took the goalposts down against Minny in the old dome.

Can someone translate this sentence from "Corn" to English? I recognize all those words but not in that particular order

53

u/miboyl Indiana Hoosiers • Sickos Sep 13 '26

Pretty sure it's just the word "have" should be "game", then their sentence makes sense

20

u/the_D1CKENS Alabama • Jacksonville State Sep 13 '26

Yea..that makes way more sense

Minnesota was playing Iowa in the HHH Metrodome in Minneapolis on Nov 16th 2002. Iowa won 45-21. There were so many Iowa fans at the stadium (15K+) That they stormed the field and took down Minnesota's goalposts. I think they went 8-0 in the Big10.

u/TheOrangeFutbol USC Trojans • Tennessee Volunteers Sep 13 '26

That explains a lot. I was confused as to why Iowa was wearing white at a home game, and why Kinnick looked so different

I literally imagined Lane reading that in Kelly's fake bayou Ogeron accent and feel like I have transcended as I understood every word.

Pretty sure "have" was supposed to be "game". It makes sense then.

u/EdmondDantesInferno Sep 13 '26

Iowa won a major game against Minnesota AT Minnesota, and then the Iowa fans actually stormed the field and tore down Minnesota's goal posts. We obviously had to pay a fine for that, but it was worth it that's one of the only times I've ever heard of a visiting team celebrating so hard they tore down the home team's goal posts.

As much as I agree with you I’m pretty sure we aren’t the ones who can ask for this given our drawl 🤣

"Aw, dude."

4

u/Dresden1984 Kansas Jayhawks Sep 13 '26

Lmao that’s amazing. I love it when you see unhappiness on sports media

"I can't believe this guy who just won the biggest game of his life doesn't want to talk bullshit with me"

39

u/TopSoulMan Sep 13 '26

That’s part of the deal with a nationally televised, high profile game. Hell, that’s even a part of games not like that.

37

u/theBirdsofWar Arizona State Sun Devils Sep 13 '26

He also waited for several minutes during halftime to do the interview while they were having technical difficulties and ended up not even being able to do the interview so I’m sure he was pretty justified in telling them he wasn’t waiting around again

25

u/equality1989 Auburn Tigers Sep 13 '26

I get it. That's part of the gig. But it someone runs off to celebrate because they're living in the moment I don't see how you get pissed about it

-15

u/dunno260 Alabama Crimson Tide Sep 13 '26

This may be hard to believe, but when one person is in the moment the other person might be too.

She is trying to do her job and he was rude to her so I think its both understandable and reasonable she is pissed.

And I think ultimately Sark probably will apologize to her in some way (same way Kiffin did to CBS' reporter when he kind of blew her off before an Alabama game a few years ago) and both are fine with it.

16

u/Interesting_Page_122 Sep 13 '26

She’s not owed anything

10

u/Financial_Pay_6687 Rutgers Scarlet Knights Sep 13 '26

Isn’t part of their contract that they do owe these halftime and post game interviews?

5

u/I_Like_Quiet Nebraska Cornhuskers • Team Chaos Sep 13 '26

I would be surprised if it is not.

He did the interview, we all saw it, just was a short one 😜

9

u/Some-Guy-12358 Sep 13 '26

For real. I feel like sideline reporters must have unionized and gotten these halftime/postgame interviews mandated into TV contracts, because unless you're a lover of generic coach speak and bland non-answers, I have no clue who cares about the interviews besides the sideline reporters.

9

u/TopSoulMan Sep 13 '26

It’s the product as a whole. Pregame show. Halftime interviews. Post game interviews.

The television companies pay a lot of money for the product and expect the coaches to play ball as part of that. And it may not always be exciting, but sometimes there’s some insightful things that can be said after a game.

-4

u/KingBlank Nebraska Cornhuskers Sep 13 '26

It's not required

4

u/keo444 Sep 13 '26

aw poor baby got his feelings hurt even though he won the game. dude acted like a little bitch running away like that lmao

10

u/thesymbiont Georgia • Washington & Lee Sep 13 '26

She probably has to deal with TV bro assholes and football bro assholes all fuckin week.

23

u/tomster2300 Georgia Bulldogs Sep 13 '26

And she makes millions doing it

12

u/DBowieNippleAntennae Florida Gators Sep 13 '26

Yep.

She’s paid more than $750k/year to do so, if you believe the internet.

1

u/Unrelenting_Salsa LSU Tigers • Georgia Bulldogs Sep 13 '26

She's really crude herself based off of what I heard her saying to the students near her during a commercial break at gameday. I don't really doubt that dealing with coaches and personalities is the worst part of the job, but she gets along with that type.

At least I'm pretty sure that was her. Right height+weight+hair and did a short segment so I assume it was her.

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '26

If she doesn’t like it she can get a real job that adds value.

u/RGC_1992 Sep 13 '26 edited Sep 13 '26

Everything just turns yellow in Texas in the summer. Especially a dry one.

u/Healthy_Article_2237 Texas Longhorns Sep 13 '26

So I noticed that too but I was up close and personal with my 4k oled tv in the 4th quarter. I’m hoping it was the 4k feed looking weird, our field looked gray too. Anyway, I don’t wish that demon back on him. I saw him at game day this morning (I went down there, I’m in Austin…no tix to game though) and he looked ok.
