In 14 years since Manziel, A&M has had 12 different players start at QB, and one of them (Kellen Mond) started for 4 full seasons.
How the fuck can this program not find (and keep) a good QB
Edit: because some of y'all are missing the point, I bring up Mond starting 4 years because if you remove him then we have 11 total QBs across 10 years. And then if you remove Reed we have 10 QBs across 8 years
Culture. You can see Reeds been partying all offseason and that’s been true from every QB Johnny included. Unless they come with discipline of their own, I am convinced our alumni structure sets these kids up for failure. There’s a reason there’s a bunch of QB transfers that do well elsewhere.
Its your fanbase and boosters are unable to tell what an elite QB looks like. YOu were content with the last 285 mediocre QBs and dreamed a CFP appearance at the start of every season.
I think a lot of it has to do with expectations and pressure. We are a program as piss poor as Iowa, but have the expectation of a program like Georgia. That does not correlate at all. That discrepancy affects our players mindset. Being successful here is just hard, despite the resources and money.
