AP voters suddenly woke up and realized Oklahoma State is good

First time I've seen a small number and felt it was deserved in YEARS.

I remember our first B12 game feeling so accomplished beating y'all. It wasn't a good season for either team. Looking forward to our games really meaning something.

Which begs the question — how fucking good is Tulsa???

1

u/vindictivejazz Oklahoma State • Bedlam Bell 19d ago

Not very.

Week 1 is just weird sometimes

179

u/CumAssault Baylor Bears • Texas A&M Aggies 20d ago

It helps that their star QB is back to balling out. Just disregard week 1

Sounds like someone didn’t watch the Seahawks the first 3 games

4

u/El_Dud3r1n0 Oklahoma State Cowboys • Big 8 20d ago

watch the Seahawks

Why would anyone do this to themselves?

1

u/vindictivejazz Oklahoma State • Bedlam Bell 19d ago

Man, I think even I might’ve been able to throw a TD to JSN in those games. He was so wide open all the time.

2

u/GP_ADD Alabama • Mississippi State 19d ago

Apparently Lock could do what Darnold couldnt lol it was just a joke

u/Kmjada Oklahoma State • Billable Hours 20d ago

More like I am week one quarterback and I eat paint chips

No Lock slander here please

8

u/jataba115 Oklahoma Sooners 20d ago

They just wanted to break their losing streak in historic fashion

5

u/Wes___Mantooth Oklahoma State Cowboys • Hateful 8 20d ago

The ghost of Gundy had to give us one more Central Michigan type loss.

2

u/RepealMCAandDTA Alabama Crimson Tide • Tulsa Golden Hurricane 20d ago

No, no, regard it and disregard last night in Fayetteville

u/Mountaineerhill West Virginia Mountaineers 20d ago

Glad we could help.

Rooting for you guys here on out. CFB is funner when the 'Neers are good.

5

u/BigManWAGun Texas Longhorns • Red River Shootout 20d ago

Wow I’m not sure “State” has carried this much weight in a headline in a while.

5

u/theycallmeryan Florida Gators 20d ago

I've been talking about Eric Morris and Drew Mestemaker a ton. Mestemaker is my draft QB1 and if we didn't hire Sumrall, I would've loved to hire Eric Morris.

Oklahoma State is gonna be an issue for as long as Morris is there.

Meh, they had one of the worse losses this year.  Arkansas destroyed Tulsa.  That game 25% of the cowboys season

33

u/JohnPaulDavyJones Texas A&M Aggies • Baylor Bears 20d ago

Credit where it’s due, they also have one of the best wins in the country, and Tulsa was missing their starting QB, who their whole offense runs through, when they played Arkansas.

-7

u/Big_Lawfulness_8143 Alabama Crimson Tide 20d ago

Thats no excuse to lose to Arkansas lol

-10

u/at2wells Indiana Hoosiers • Navy Midshipmen 20d ago

Bullshit. Offenses don’t run through quarterbacks. Learn ball my man

5

u/JohnPaulDavyJones Texas A&M Aggies • Baylor Bears 20d ago

Of course, they run through the spirits, souls, and veins of every player on the field.

2

u/at2wells Indiana Hoosiers • Navy Midshipmen 20d ago

It’s a sad state of affairs when so many people thought I was being serious. Glad at least you got it….

Tbh i couldn’t tell, but I try to give folks the benefit of the doubt!

Lot of crazies online these days, but it seems like the real weirdos who pop up here always tend to be unflaired.

u/Darth-Taytor BYU Cougars 20d ago

Someone posted on another comment thread that Tulsa didn't have their starting QB this week against Arkansas. That makes a huge difference.

u/jputna Oklahoma State Cowboys • /r/CFB Patron 20d ago

90 new guys on the team. Week 1 loss. Super easy to explain that loss away. Not to mention the offense week 1 didn’t look anything like last years UNT or any other week of OSU football this year so far.

9

u/Murky_Persimmon9289 Oklahoma State Cowboys 20d ago

They overlooked Tulsa and they punched them in the mouth. I’m sure they were holding things back for the Oregon game, 1st game jitters whatever. Were atrocious on 4th down/red zone, it’s not very difficult to see how the Tulsa game happened and the team is still really good.

2

u/JonSnowDontKn0w Oklahoma State • Ohio State 20d ago

8 total turnovers typically doesnt lead to success

7

u/Violint1 North Texas Mean Green 20d ago

UNT’s 2025 ranking transferred to OKST with the rest of the team.

What’s next, are they gonna take our top jazz band and get nominated for a Grammy?

6

u/somethingwittier Oklahoma State Cowboys • Hateful 8 20d ago

We can only hope

2

u/Fletch71011 Notre Dame Fighting Irish 20d ago

How good is Tulsa then???

3

u/SueYouInEngland Iowa Hawkeyes 20d ago

They're a mid-tier AAC team.

1

u/SpadeRyker NC State Wolfpack • Oklahoma Sooners 20d ago

Arkansas must be the best team in the country

1

u/Darth-Taytor BYU Cougars 20d ago

It's tough to say because their starting QB has been out the past 2.5 games. They're definitely better with him than their showing yesterday against Arkansas. And they were a top non big 4 team last year. They're probably not a top 20 team but they're also no walkover with a healthy QB1.

2

u/desertSkateRatt Oregon Ducks • Sickos 20d ago

We'll accept that quality loss, now...!

2

u/redthelastman /r/CFB 20d ago

Mestemaker is the best draft eligible QB,he keeps them in games because their defense is not good.

2

u/sevenlabors Oklahoma State Cowboys • Paper Bag 20d ago

I'm weeping.

u/sean-thebean 20d ago

I think it’s pretty bad that everyone is just choosing to ignore that they lost to Tulsa

1

u/bama92090 Alabama Crimson Tide • College Football Playoff 19d ago

Not only lost. They put up 12 fucking points lol

1

u/vindictivejazz Oklahoma State • Bedlam Bell 19d ago

10 points, actually.

1

u/bama92090 Alabama Crimson Tide • College Football Playoff 19d ago

Even worse lol

1

u/vindictivejazz Oklahoma State • Bedlam Bell 19d ago

Yeah but we all good now. I don’t expect to see any more 8 turnover games where our QB misses wide open guys.

Week 1 is weird
