In a span of 19 seconds:

  • Arch throws a pick

  • Mateer completes a pair of passes for 33 yards to get OU in field goal range

  • OU wins via walkoff field goal against the #1 ranked team in the country

Absolute disaster for the Horns.

DO NOT check the game thread for Oklahoma flair comments. They always believed.

I straight up did not. My goal was one first down in the first quarter. What a fucking time to be alive

That’s what I’m saying Mateer was scaring us for a bit and the line was not doing him any favors

First fucking drive i wanted him pulled out when he stood there like a dumbass and fumbled. He finally chilled out.. took a lot of shots too

He really had a solid game after the first quarter or so. Definitely played way better in the second half

I had given up when the first points were scored. Had nothing but the worst expectations and Mateer's play in the first didn't help.

Didn’t achieve your goal and still pulled out the win

Every true OU fan knows that if we were going to win, it would be this exact type of game. Sure as fuck wouldn't bet on it though.

Told my friend Sooners would need two non offensive touchdowns to even make the game competitive and low and behold

Doesn’t matter how it happened, the hat’s in Norman and the River’s running Red again

I dunno man, I started feeling pretty fucking hopeful around half time. Not certain, but hopeful. As soon as we got within 7 I started letting myself believe, even more when we tied it. But the pick 6 ... I was all in.

From what I've seen... they believed OU stood a chance of the defense and special teams scored points. Both of those things happened.

Mateer made two clutch throws in the end, but don't get it twisted.... OU won despite Mateer being a dunce at QB because the rest of the team picked up his massive slack.

I believed so much I didn't even watch the game live.

Not true I hate this team and I think we should send our OC to a middle school in west Texas but also fuck UT and fuck arch Manning get bodied nerds

If OU is up by 72 points at the half at OU/TX and you believe they’ll win you are a FOOL.

RRS is its own chaos and it’s never over until it’s over.

My comment history is calling OUs offense a special kind of bad. I still think it is.

2

u/Bernawdjuhnson Oklahoma Sooners 7d ago

Never said a bad thing about this team. Trust me bro.

u/Toomanymellons Kansas Jayhawks 7d ago

I absolutely did not fucking believe. Our offense is almost a war crime for how bad it is.

u/BobStoops401K Oklahoma Sooners 7d ago

I had hope all week honestly, but it's so hard to trust it when you've seen all those turnovers.

But I knew we had a chance if we took care of the football. And we did it

Then they are liars. This team has shown zero capability to do this until now. Especially Mateer.

I went to the State Fair on Thursday in my Sooner gear and a Texas fan asked me how I felt about Saturday, specifically Mateer. I said I had zero expectations of anything great, but it is the Red River game and anything can happen. And anything did.

From being outscored 83-3 the last 2 years, to this. What a turnaround.

u/Same-Sherbert-7613 Oklahoma Sooners 7d ago

Pump the brakes. With talk like that they might keep our online coach. And we desperately need a new one.

5

u/LeoFireGod Oklahoma Sooners 7d ago

Never in doubt baby. No one shuts OU out of scoring a touchdown for 3 straight years!!!

Why did the YouTube TV broadcast pan over to the motherfuckin sidelines during the kick!? We all thought it was still on timeout and then everyone started celebrating!

Happy for the Sooners but that was some BS camera work

ESPN's stream did the same. To see the final field goal, I had to come here to Reddit.
