Two years ago Ole Miss had 4th and 1 with the chance to end the game, Lane decided to punt, they lost to Kentucky.

Tonight 4th and 1 with the chance to end the game, Lane decided to punt, LSU loses to Kentucky.

Lane is a coward and a dick.

I was very surprised he didn't go for it on 4th and one that was the obvious thing to do in my opinion

He's a coward. I have no idea why he has the reputation of being an aggressive coach anymore. Whenever he's presented with an opportunity to be aggressive or embrace the math and end games, he punts or kicks instead.

It’s like when people called Ron Rivera “Riverboat Ron” because he liked to gamble on 4th and he like never did.

All it takes is one and you're stuck with a nickname for life. Ask basically any military member about their dumb nickname. Half will be "yeah I shit myself from food poisoning once in boot camp and they called me Browntown the rest of my career."

My best bud mispronounced Titus as Tittus in Sunday school when he was a kid. Over 2 decades later my kid and everyone in my life still call him Tittus. I don't think my kid actually knows his real name.

The one season he was on the hotseat he went for it on 4th and short (with Prime-ish Cam Newton mind you) an at the time unthinkable like 5 times in unusual situations and the nickname stuck for the rest of his career, despite him never really doing it again after that season (I want to say 2013)

It’s because he runs up the score when he’s already got the game in hand. People are misinterpreting that “aggression” in situations where he doesn’t show it.

His tendency is to gamble earlier in the game if I remember correctly. He'll go for it in the 2nd quarter when he has time to correct an error

he lost his fangs after the "Get your popcorn ready" game against bama. went for it aggressively and the game was over in like 20 minutes

To be fair if they go for it and don't get it then he's called an idiot but yea at least he had balls.

I don’t really think so honestly. I think people would’ve understood going for it when you need one yard to win the game, even if it didn’t work out. But punting and then losing anyways just makes him look like a complete buffoon lmao.

Go Bulls!

I was there and we were all joking yelling “you should totally punt it” and we were all so confused. We left that stadium last night feeling like maybe we had missed something behind it that was obvious to tv watchers and we were just dumb but nope, just a weird call.

Pineapple on pizza is fine, but I'd never even considered someone asking for whiskey and Pepsi. Jesus

Depends on the quality of the whiskey. If it's Potters...

My buddy drunk Mike in the dorms in Eugene freshman year would always give us a free shot of Potter's whiskey any time as long as he had some so long as we either took it straight or if we absolutely needed to chase it, he'd only allow it with water. Dude pulled a Bluto Blutarsky one term and got a 0.0 GPA. Shocking development he got pulled from UO by his parents after freshman year.

Lane puts half full cans of beer back in the fridge to finish later.

Reminder that Kiffin refused a running clock against McNeese because "they weren't like that"

Lane gets a lot of elite coaching attention for a guy who has literally never won anything

I guarantee you the math says punt. But there has to be some feel with what you team has done and can do in that moment. I know a few/fair amount of the college coaches. I don’t know lane. And my friends say he is a robot awkward turtle. So it makes sense

Dude the other team’s kicker had shit the bed twice in a row. It’s not like they had a solid leg to lean on. You have to watch the other team too

u/Sargentrock Kentucky Wildcats 6d ago

I was shitting the bed when they sent him back out.

My stomach literally dropped after reading that first sentence. I had trained my brain to forget that game, and you ripped the memory out of the depths of my brain like King Arthur.

God I dont know who I love to watch fail more Lane or Shane. I honestly think I have to give it to Lane bc he’s been such a massive PoS at literally every stop lol. I’d love if SCar somehow hired Lane

u/HighOnGoofballs Ole Miss Rebels 6d ago

That’s the week Lane spent stalking a chick instead of going game prep
