Two years ago Ole Miss had 4th and 1 with the chance to end the game, Lane decided to punt, they lost to Kentucky.

Tonight 4th and 1 with the chance to end the game, Lane decided to punt, LSU loses to Kentucky.

Lane is a coward and a dick.

I was very surprised he didn't go for it on 4th and one that was the obvious thing to do in my opinion

He's a coward. I have no idea why he has the reputation of being an aggressive coach anymore. Whenever he's presented with an opportunity to be aggressive or embrace the math and end games, he punts or kicks instead.

It’s like when people called Ron Rivera “Riverboat Ron” because he liked to gamble on 4th and he like never did.

All it takes is one and you're stuck with a nickname for life. Ask basically any military member about their dumb nickname. Half will be "yeah I shit myself from food poisoning once in boot camp and they called me Browntown the rest of my career."

My best bud mispronounced Titus as Tittus in Sunday school when he was a kid. Over 2 decades later my kid and everyone in my life still call him Tittus. I don't think my kid actually knows his real name.

The one season he was on the hotseat he went for it on 4th and short (with Prime-ish Cam Newton mind you) an at the time unthinkable like 5 times in unusual situations and the nickname stuck for the rest of his career, despite him never really doing it again after that season (I want to say 2013)

It’s because he runs up the score when he’s already got the game in hand. People are misinterpreting that “aggression” in situations where he doesn’t show it.

His tendency is to gamble earlier in the game if I remember correctly. He'll go for it in the 2nd quarter when he has time to correct an error
