ND strong armed BYU (as they do many teams) into giving up a home game in an already lopsided series agreement. Sigh, at least this is a home and home.

They gave up a home game to get a home game in a home and home?

No this is separate from 26/27 series.

They agreed to a 4/2 (four in SB, two in Provo) six-game series in 2010. Most of the games got canceled a couple years into it bc of ND agreeing to that ACC scheduling agreement.

So BYU played the first two in SB in 2012/2013 and the only “home” game for BYU that ND didn’t cancel was a game they moved to 2022, but forced BYU to play it in Vegas, make ND the home team, and gave them a higher ticket count than BYU.

It’s in the article, the downvotes are crazy lol.

I was bummed they canceled the series. Would have been a lot of fun too.

Yeah, I think ND would have not gone that route had the ACC agreement never happened. It wasn’t black and white.

BUT they have a lot of influence and they will and often do strong arm teams to give up home games, because what else are they gonna do? Playing ND in Timbuktu will still generate more money than whoever their replacement is. ND has a lot of weight to throw around, it’s impressive.
