Northwestern would of totally blown that game if Fitz was still HC, thankfully he's on the other team and blew it for them

Explain to me how he blew the game? YOUR coach is the one that called that absolute brain dead fake punt to give us the ball under 3 min on your side of the field in a tie game. Please explain to me how Fitz blew it?

Dude, nobody knows or understands how, but Fitz is always on the losing end of close games that his team lowkey had no business being competitive in anyways.

This is revisionist history that could only be believed if you enrolled after Covid. He was famous for winning one score games before the wheels fell off (mainly because of recruiting).

I think we won the breakup and I'm not upset he's gone but I think Northwestern fans have really veered into Making Shit Up Territory.

Yeah, the Thorson teams were masters of keeping it close and ugly and just executing better down the stretch

tbf I was also there before covid but not that long. all the upperclassmen had good stories to tell, but i didn't get to watch anything good except that orange bowl season while stuck at home.

Fitz played it too conservatively for the FG instead of playing for the TD on their final drive. They weren’t going to be able to milk enough time to justify that decision. NU was always going to get the ball back if MSU didn’t get the first down.

Yeah fuck him for not putting the game in the hands of the QB that was missing wide open TDs all day.

Easy, he got the ball in a tie game with 3:30 to go on the NU 28 and ended up with 0 points and still left a minute of game clock up and then let Northwestern march down the field with time to just let 20 seconds burn before the final spike. He always lost these games at NU and it's no difference here. It comes down to the coach.

Failing to mention the kick was blocked like its his fault is just disingenuous. What did HE directly do as a coach to blow the game? What decision did he make? You still havent answered that

I did answer, you just chose to ignore it lol. "left a minute of game clock up and then let Northwestern march down the field with time to just let 20 seconds burn before the final spike". It's also not disingenuous because the end result was because of overly conservative play calling that lead to a blocked kick with a minute still on the clock. Even if the kick was good the defense was still at minimum going to let 'Cats tie that game because of Fitz playcalling.

No you cant say fitz blew the game when you are using examples of things that happened that involve several parties including personnel and other coordinators. What did Fitz directly do to blow the game? Is there a decision or something you thought was an obvious "What is he doing?!" type moment? Because we had that with your coach

Your choice to just ignore the examples of what he did that I literraly just commented on is on you. I'm not wasting my time with an unflaired bot user. If you want to know what he did actually read the comments. I will not be responding after this.

Ahh ok so Fitz was playing defense and Fitz missed his block on our FG attempt. Got it. You cannot name me a single thing that he directly blew? Youre saying he left a minute on the clock as if he could have drained any more time without putting the ball in the hands of a QB who was missing wide open TDs all day. Does Fitz even call plays on defense? Somehow that was entirely and directly his fault as well according to you.

Overly conservative? You guys had two timeouts, you run the clock out and take the ‘easy’ FG, and hope your defense can show a semblance of life with a minute left. We did get one first down running the ball as well.

Sure, we could’ve thrown the ball on 2nd or third down. But our QB was playing like ass all game, so you risk not only failing and stopping the clock, but also a turnover.
