Michigan State this is going to be the first of a lot of losses in Fitz's tenure where you will be asking yourself "How the fuck did we manage to lose that game?" 

Best of luck. Fitz had gotten extremely complacent and stubborn by the end of his tenure here and that doesn't seem to have changed.

This loss sucks, but I don’t blame Fitz’ coaching on that final drive. Most coaches would opt to run the ball instead of going for a first down on a passing play which also stops the clock. Alessio was missing throws all game.

You take the points & the lead, and hope your defense can at least put up a fight. It obviously went terribly wrong, but we just didn’t execute

I'm not saying he made a mistake. I'm saying a hallmark of his tenure at Northwestern was losses where things would just go wrong in ways that were often seemed inexplicable

I mean in fairness we were down 17-0 almost immediately. More of a “how the fuck did we manage to make that a game” rather than OP’s sentiment.
