I will never understand what the leadership of MSU's athletic program has been doing for the last 10 years.

Idiotic decision after idiotic decision. Tucker, smith, fitz - all mediocre (at best) head coaches from mediocre (at best) programs. As if our leadership thought it would be easier for them to win here? No $ commitment to recruiting top players. What do you expect? It's like they're aiming for the middle. And then miss.

The new AD emailed the entire fanbase a few weeks ago, basically apologizing for the miserable state of the football program.

I want to say I hope things soon change. But "hope" would imply I'm at least a little optimistic that it might happen. I'm not. Gonna go add a backup flair so I can post something positive in r/cfb once in a while.

To me the big issue is that the failures compounding, I think Fitz is a decent enough HC but he's got 7 years of incompetence before him, I remember when Sparty was almost always ranked and had NFL talent.

Can we interest Sparty in a slightly used Whittingham and Jason Beck?

The issue is they turned down Bob Chesney to hire Fitzgerald, a guy shrouded in controversy, historical mediocrity, and zero experience coaching in the NIL era

And he was 2-20 his last two seasons at NU. He's a great face for the program but he's not a great head coach.
