K state joins Nebraska and Oklahoma in the elite club of beating Kansas 18 times in a row.

The crazy thing is KU still leads the all-time series by 9 games. What Snyder did to K-State is arguably more impressive than what Cig did to IU considering the eras they were each in.

There's an argument that what Snyder did is the goat coaching job in the most narrow definition of goat. The singular greatest transformation of a program I can ever recall.

You can argue that he's responsible for a lot of what that university and town are today.

Cig might be top 5 but Indiana was never in danger of no longer being a major university. There was talk in 1980s Kansas that the state might not be able to sustain two flagships and maybe KSU should go to the WAC.

K-State in the '80s was easily worse than Indiana in the '80s and worse than Indiana has probably ever been (the late '80s were actually a pretty good period for IU).

Yeah, plus they were full hoops blue blood back then.

KSU has some basketball history but were always in KU's shadow.

KSU was the winningest program in the Big 8, even over KU, in the late 80s when football was at its lowest.

Then as football rose basketball fell and KU claimed the winningest program mark just before the Big 8 became the Big 12.

The Big Ten TV deal alone makes it so much of a different situation, not to mention IU’s boosters and today’s rule.
