Graduation Fall 2026 Commencement
Hi everyone,
I graduate in December of 2026 and am trying to gather as much information as I can.
I know Spring commencements get a Latino Celebrate that is separate from the main one, does this also apply to the Fall graduates as well? If so, where can I apply? If it isn’t open yet, when does it open? How many tickets do we typically get for this celebration.
As for the main commencement, how many tickets do we get? Is there an idea of what day it would be on or weekend? For reference, I am a Psychology Major.
Any and all information is helpful! Thank you 😊

Hi!! I graduated Fall 2025 and we were given 8 tickets, but we were able to claim 2 more free (but limited) tickets after the initial 8.
For us, we were able to register by like the second week of November and the extra ticket email came through like 3 days after so be on a look out for those in case they decide to release limited extra tickets. (:
Fall 2025 commencement was the weekend right after finals so it should still be the same for Fall 2026.
Congratulations by the way!!

I wish they told us the date ahead of time. I have already declined attending a wedding on the off chance commencement is that weekend.

My advisor said it’ll most likely be the 19th

It can be anywhere from the 18-20th as it depends on Golden One and their availability.

I’m pretty sure it should be the same as last springs, so 7 tickets. I would find that pretty unfair if we got less.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s less. I hope they go up a bit though because that stadium is big and I know the previous Fall commencement didn’t fill that stadium.

sadly commencement in the fall doesn’t have a Latinx ceremony, only in the spring.applying for graduation in the Fall is due Oct 1st, it was recommended to submit your petition by October if you are looking into graduating in the Spring so that the registrar office can have time to process your petition. as for the tickets, I believe it is about 5-7 tickets.

Really? That really sucks! I was hoping they would hold one for Fall graduates.
Do you by chance know if the tickets have an age restriction? I have two kids so if I can use two tickets for others that would be awesome!

Yes, kids over the age of three must have a guest ticket to enter but im not sure if they updated the age restrictions

Every person needs a ticket regardless of age

So infants require a ticket? That doesn’t seem correct. Probably just going to have to wait and see.

Ages 1 and 2 do not need a ticket if they are sitting on a lap
This was information from the spring ceremony https://www.csus.edu/president/commencement/tickets.html1

Which is what someone said previously and doesn’t fall under “every person needs a ticket regardless of age”.

I was trying to be polite and corrected myself and pointed you to were you could read the information yourself. It was a simple error and was found by doing research.

Understandable and thank you for correcting yourself. I would hate anyone that crosses this thread to get the wrong information.

I hope they’ll tell us during grad fest on the 13th or 14th cause I need to tell my family to take the day off as well. Hopefully it’s on a weekend. Also congrats I’ll see you in December🫡

I’m really disappointed in the lack of information regarding the logistics of Winter Commencement. I’m the first person in my family to graduate college so anyone I know is also in the dark about how it’s supposed to work. Is this because there are less students graduating in the fall? Is Winter Commencement just not as important to Sac State? Either way it’s frustrating.
