The nightmare was almost over
7.5 months later, she was finally ready to be taken home. About 9 miles away, check engine light came on. Absolutely gutted. Went straight back to dealership. 4 codes triggered.
This has been a horrific experience

That is unbelievably frustrating—7.5 months in the shop and it fails again within nine miles? I’d be demanding a complete diagnosis, a written repair warranty, and escalation to the manufacturer.

I’ve already set a few things in motion before today. I’m beyond furious

I get that, but do a google search or five thousand, and see how many horror stories about GM in the last 10-15 years. I think all you're gonna get from them is delay deny defend.

? That's any large automotive company. And the majority of the GM gripes would be from their v8 lifter issues on various vehicles which this doesn't have.

Just to give examples, Toyota was willing to replace the frame on certain vehicles that were prone to rust. I've seen 15 year extended warranties from Mercedes on a cylinder heat issue, extended warranties from Nissan on their CVTs.
GM isn't doing stuff like that. I think GM lost 80% of its customer base not because they decided they liked other cars better, but because the customers were so disgusted by GM letting them down, either in quality or in service.

Toyota's frame warranty extension came from settling a class action lawsuit. How is Toyota handling their TTV6 issues these days? Answer- not at all. You wait a long time to get another defective engine. Imagine a lawsuit will be the way that gets resolved.
Mercedes is only covering some cylinder head failures on certain models, lots of people online report failures not covered by MB. Also just settled a lawsuit regarding misclassifying emissions parts to try to dodge warranty coverage. And Bluetec dieselgate was quite a failure, too.
Nissan CVTs? Extended warranty was also the result of a class action suit.
So while GM is far from perfect, those other companies don't deserve to be put on pedestals. They've repeatedly forced consumers to sue them.

I noticed bolts were part of the "charges", although listed as n/c. We recently needed 4 new bolts on our cadillac. $35 each!! $140+

Why I don’t go to the dealership unless private mechanics literally cannot figure out an issue. I only use the dealership as a “everything has gone wrong and no one can figure this out, and it’s been too long” my stabilitrak is such thing… no one can seem to center my bloody steering wheel correctly even tire shops

What I find crazy about Cadillac is that their labor rate is about 200 an hour and yet a single tpms replacement is 240 per wheel. No way in hell it takes more than a single hour to do all 4 wheels and yet that’s the cost. Likely not getting another one unless they make the Sollei

Like what? I had a 14 ATS and got rid of it when it started making scary transmission vibrations.

2014 and yeah had to replace the transmission at 110k miles. Oil pan started leaking fixed it. Then the lines started leaking. Got that fixed. On to the catalytic converter next with my rusty ass exhaust.

OMG! Engine out and still throwing codes? Good God! Indeed it needs to be escalated, this is a Cadillac after all, that used to mean something.
