🛡️Mod Post FEEDBACK REQUESTED-Dating Advice Rule

I typed out this message as a response to a dating advice question in this sub and I'm tired so I'm just going to copy pasta it, but tldr: please give feedback regarding the dating advice rule for this sub. as it currently stands, it's sort of discretionary, and I tend to remove low effort dating advice questions, especially if they only mention the sun sign.

it's not that dating advice questions are flat out banned from this sub, but this sub was founded on meaningful conversation rooted in astrology and appreciation for cancer placements. there are a couple of reasons that I am inclined to remove dating questions from this sub:

  1. the dating questions that I see have more to do with psychology than astrology. I created this sub with the vision that it would serve as a place for self-exploration through astrology. while I strongly believe that astrology and psychology are complimentary forces, I'd be remiss to allow dating questions that use astrology, particularly sun signs, as a cop out for poor coping mechanisms, maladaptive behaviors, attachment styles not conducive to a healthy relationship, etc. It's one thing if the person with sun in cancer is asking questions like these, but it almost always comes from someone else-so not as a tool for SELF-exploration, and reduces the cancer in question to just their sun sign which is not useful in the context of dating/love/romance/intimacy. which leads me to reason number two...

  2. I refuse to advance pop astrology that reduces people to just their sun signs. the way that someone expresses themselves in love/intimate relationships has very little to do with their sun signs and is more attributable to their moon, mercury, venus, and mars (and their rising). this doesn't even contemplate the fact that there is synastry at play here-if you really want to consult astrology to gain sound insight into dating a cancer, you would at least need their other placements, let alone a synastry chart which could shed light on how both parties placements play out in relation to one another. we cannot give an accurate response based solely on someone's sun sign.

we've had a large influx of new members recently so I think it might be time to revisit/potentially revise this rule. although I've mentioned my vision when I created this sub, I recognize that this sub is for the people, and with more people might mean adapting this rule.

Cancer vibes Was a discord server ever made and is it still active?

Hi, I’ve seen a few posts discussing a discord server and found a link but it’s no longer valid. Is the server still going? I’d love to join and get to know some people that actually understand me!

I feel so seen with this. I've seen a lot of mention of a Cancer's cut off game, but it's really not a game, it's completion.

CancerTheCrab ♋ so tired of being done dirty in friendships/relationships

hiiii i just want to rant and maybe someone can relate to me and share in the comments how they deal w this? because i feel like it’s a typical issue for cancers…

so i think as cancers, we can be a very safe space for the people we choose to love and open up to… and when you get this from a cancer it is more often than not very genuine, pure and loyal. like i just feel that the few people i give this love to, i do it in a way that is very genuine and caring and aware of all the ways that makes them comfortable/feel seen/feel loved and appreciated…

but after a 2 year relationship with an ex who cheated and then gave me an std (lol) and then a 1+ year friendship with someone i just got super close to, like best friend and they said i was like a brother to them, just ended because they’ve become a shitty friend due to being kinda male centered and just forgetting about me because they’re a serial monogamist who can’t be alone (it’s fresh, so i’m currently bitter as you can maybe tell, sorry about that)

and again i’ve had this same pattern with so many friends before too. it’s to the point i question if im the problem. i dont really think i am? it’s always that i have an amazing reciprocal equally loving friendship or relationship and while i never stop putting in the same effort, the other person stops and i feel undervalued and disrespected as reciprocity becomes less common over time in these relationships and friendships. it really hurts. its just been such a long lasting pattern that im kinda over it and i dont know if it gets better or if theres something im doing wrong?

and i just had another cancer friend go through the same exact thing with her roommate at the same time. just getting done so dirty and idk it just seems like cancers love so hard and people rarely value that enough to respect cancers.

anyways thats all kinda just brain dumping but if anyone has similar experiences or maybe figured out this dilemma please share lol. hope u guys r well 😁🦀🫰

CancerTheCrab ♋ I love being a Cancer and the fact that people do not like us.

Im a Cancer and I'm always hearing stories from different signs about their experiences with other Cancers, it's almost always negative. We are so disliked when it comes to astrology, everyone says we are "sensitive" and "too emotional" but I genuinely wish that other people felt things the same way we feel. As a fellow a Cancer, it's true we ARE emotional and intense but that's what I've always loved the most about myself.

Since I was a little girl I've always been emotional, I use to always question and even judge myself for being this way until I found comfort in it. Not everyone has the ability to feel things in such a deep and profound way like us and that's okay! I try my best to empathize with signs that aren't compatible with us like fire/air signs, but I've came to a conclusion that they just don't care the same way we do.

I mesh really well with earth/ water signs, my mom is a Virgo, my bestfriend is a Taurus, & our relationships have always been very solid. We can come to each other for literally anything without feeling unheard, however I can't do the same with my other fire/air sign friends & family. It's just not the same, we all view things differently and we approach life with different perspectives. Like I said that's okay, but if you're a Cancer and feel as if you're too much for someone or too emotional or sensitive, just remember how rare it is for people to actually feel things like us. We are so unique, thats why people love us and that's also why people dislike us.

Question? Is crying inside bathrooms a cancer's behavior? Art by @meyoco

Post image

I've noticed that I've been crying inside bathrooms since i was a teenager and it's frequently when i have heavy feelings to be processed. I feel safe inside this kind of place, just like my room.

I'm sure it's a personal practice of mine, but i wonder if other cancers relate to it as well. Is this a pattern or not?

CancerTheCrab ♋ Cancer x Taurus crazy story

Hello everyone,

I would like to apologise to all Tauruses right now and say that I will definitely be dealing with them from now on.

Background: Me F26 cancer sun, libra rising, cap moon, cancer mars, Leo Venus, cancer mercury. Him M36 taurus sun, Gemini moon, Taurus mercury, Pisces Venus, Pisces mars. (Don’t know his rising)

Basically I’ve known this person for years as we used to work together. The tension has definitely been building for ages. And I’m talking tension to the point where I couldn’t work with this person because I couldn’t stand the tease. And yes, IT WAS THAT INTENSE. Like even just feeling their fragrance in the hallways was making my knees melt lol. This person helped me a lot because I was always in trouble (bcs of me btw) at that workplace. I admire him a lot and I always found him very appealing.

Fast forward to recent events, we met and the inevitable happened. Let me tell you, (TMI incoming !!) Best s*x of my life I swear! I’m not someone that sleeps around at all and I don’t do that unless I’m in a relationship but let me tell you, I risked it and I’m so glad I did it. He’s a very sweet person, visited his workplace with a friend and he is generally very attentive, very sweet and he remembers the little things. My friend even said that it’s clear he cares about me and that he is a great person. She and I also appreciated that he didn’t even for a second try and talk to her as opposed to how other men do when they try to have you AND your friend. Which honestly stands with the loyalty I kept hearing about when it comes to Tauruses.

As a cancer, it’s very hard to make me feel seen, understood, desired, cared for etc and he managed to do just that. I’m just very picky but this person seems to literally read my mind. Even during intimate time, he was doing everything I love and things I didn’t even try yet but wanted to lol. And no, we didn’t discuss anything prior. When I said my boundaries, he respected them straight away, no questions asked. I was genuinely feeling like this person reads my mind, it was a little scary but I loved it😂. A few times I was thinking to myself “omg I’ve always wanted to try this, how did he even know”. And mind you, I’ve had a horrible experience with a Pisces man where I was trying to explain to him what I like and he didn’t get it lol, but this Taurus did it without me even mentioning it. I have heard about Tauruses being receptive, caring, attentive etc but I genuinely didn’t think it’s at this level.

Also, he was actively listening to what I was saying and showing genuine interest in the things I talked about. I have a bubbly personality and he’s very masculine so sometimes I would say things that to him might seem ridiculous (even though for me are very serious🙄) but then he was explaining to me very patiently what needed to be explained about the situation. And yes, I do love that dynamic and since I’m very bubbly I do need someone that it’s grounded. Which brings me to another trait of Taurus that I’ve heard about and finally got to experience.

I am left with a very good impression about Tauruses now. Hands down the best experience of my life and we aren’t even together.

I appreciate and admire this man so much!

Also, the sign that I usually admire A LOT are Capricorns. I feel like Taurus it’s similar to Capricorn but in a more patient, emotional way, don’t know how to explain it and I like that. Taurus is definitely going up on that admiration and fascination list now!

This is obviously from my perspective only, I have no idea how the other person views this situation and this experience because we haven’t talked since this happened.

The last things we said to each other were basically a confirmation that the tension was building and it was finally time to get it out of the system. He told me “you should’ve just said what you wanted, you already knew the answer” (because I was beating around the bush before the fact) and I joked around saying I didn’t know the answer. Then after a few minutes I said “yes I knew the answer. And this was long overdue by the way” to which he replied “yeah I know” and then gave me a kiss.

So im guessing the perspective might’ve been similar to mine but I don’t know for sure. If anyone dealt with cancers/cancer women definitely let me know how you perceive us (pls don’t bully us too much lol😂). But for me, as I said, changed my perspective completely and I’m feeling great after experiencing this!

CancerTheCrab ♋ Why is it when we open that can of worms...

Why is it when cancers ( are at their wits end) flip out on others are we the bad guys? Chance after chance, crossed boundaries after crossed boundaries, dropping hint after hint. why are we the bad guys for finally exploding and telling you how we really feel? Are we really fake? ( as ive been called before) because u didnt take the time to get to know me (good side and bad). Or are u surprised that im no longer gonna go along with everything just to make u feel comfortable? Listening to every problem, giving advice ( thats ignored) being that shoulder to cry on, being there when everyone else abandons you. How at the end of the day the "emotional fragile is always the person you call on?

CancerTheCrab ♋ Do yall use your friends to get you back with your ex?

Do you directly try to contact your ex again after not talking for a long time (like 2 years) or do you use someone else to do it for you?
Especially after you initially broke up with them.

First of all so glad that I got into astrology because my combination totally explains why people don't realize how sensitive I am right away. But back to the point, I have been trying so hard to live peacefully with this Moon placement. Any advice?

Discussion Any one else have an ex reach out this Venus retrograde?

Thought I was going to make it thru unscathed. Then I see my Scorpio ex has unblocked and added me back on social media again. Has yet to say anything. It was a toxic relationship from the start but I’m always a sucker for Scorpio intensity, and obsession. It ended badly when we had been out for new years and I pulled over in a parking lot, then was arrested for my first ever dui. He had already had one from last year. I was taken to jail and he had his brother come pick him up, no charges. After I was bailed out, he ghosted and then blocked me on everything. It took a lot of healing and such to get over all that, and I’m still dealing with the consequences to this day. He loved bombed me the whole time we were talking and we were probably only officially together for about 3 days before all that happened. I couldn’t believe how someone who claimed to love me, abandoned me when I needed support, especially being the one who was with me when it happened. Now I’m sick with wondering why he is now trying to reach out again. Anyone else dealing with toxic exes this Venus retrograde?? Is it best to just leave it be?

CancerTheCrab ♋ The side of your ♋CANCER sign that people should never underestimate

For Cancer ...

... YOUR COMEBACK | CANCER • ARIES • LEO

... YOUR LOYALTY | TAURUS • CANCER • SCORPIO

... YOUR BOUNDARIES | CANCER • SCORPIO • AQUARIUS

... YOUR INTUITION | PISCES • CANCER • SCORPIO

... YOUR OBSERVATION | VIRGO • SCORPIO • CANCER

People might often call Cancer a overly emotional. But what most don't realize is that they are quietly watching your every move (Observation). They can instantly sense if you are being genuine or fake (Intuition), they know how to cut ties when you cross the line (Boundaries), they stay loyal to the very end (Loyalty), and they are more than capable of picking themselves up and rebuilding after getting hurt (Comeback).

CancerTheCrab ♋ Leo mars, are you guys dramatic?

As a Cancer, I like to keep things private and stay out of the spotlight, especially when it comes to my vulnerabilities. But I don’t understand this side of myself.
Once I feel overwhelmed with emotions, suddenly everyone needs to know about it 😭 I’ll confront everyone in the room and be so dramatic about it.
Then I regret it afterwards because I feel like I’ve exposed too much of myself. Like, wtf was that? 🤷🏻‍♀️
So I end up making jokes about it to lighten the mood and smooth things over.
Anyone else with Leo Mars experience this?

Weekly Check-In 🔮 Weekly Check-In: Intuition Over Logic

Hey, intuitive beings 🌟
Cancer is ruled by the moon, the ultimate symbol of intuition and emotion. This week, let’s check in with our inner knowing. How often do you listen to your gut? Sometimes, logic and reason can cloud our instincts, but Cancer energy teaches us to trust what we feel deep inside.
Is there something your intuition has been whispering to you lately that you’ve been ignoring? Maybe it’s a subtle pull in a certain direction or a feeling that something needs your attention. How does it feel when you trust your gut, even if it leads you down an uncertain path?
Let’s make space to listen to our inner wisdom and allow it to guide us through the week. 🌙✨

Need Help Where would I find the one?

Im a 34yr old male scorpio. I look for deep connection and someone who will embrace my love and affection and not think it's too much. maybe only another water sign can handle that.

I'm having a hard time finding someone that's in it for the long haul. I'm reserved and mostly a homebody. I like to watch anime, play guitar and play video games. I can be romantic and like to cuddle.

Where would I be able to find someone who will match me?
