How it feels being a Captain America fan recently

"Captain America caused Doomsday"
"Captain America is so selfish"
"Captain America never makes the sacrifice play"
"Captain America is nothing without the serum"
"Captain America is a bum/fraud"
"Cap is the worst Avenger"
"Captain America is so boring"
"I hope Cap suffers in Doomsday"
"I hope Cap dies"
And yes, I've seen this from people.

(2nd pic)If you've seen these types of comments too, don't let them bring you down; push through. No matter how bad the slander gets, just push through.

Haven’t see that much of it but even if it was that hard hate, well, I wouldn’t worry

Most people ignore that Captain America was right in both civil wars, didn’t create Ultron and wasn’t a war criminal spamming weapons in Middle East as certain guy.

Was Cap already compromised by the Cosmic Cube in Civil War II? I remember the whole Hydra Cap kerfuffle, but was that as early as Civil War II? Or was that later?

As far as I remember he used the hydra cap suit but I wasn’t talking about that one

Yeah, he was. He had been Hydra Cap since the cosmic cube made him young again.

Why are you bringing up Tony Stark? You only see Tony as someone who is less than a human being, but coming from this subreddit that's already normal, isn't it?

Where in the comment I treat Tony as an alien?

I said that you see Tony as someone less than human, not as an alien. And going back to the beginning, why did you bring up Tony?

Because the majority of the comments OP posted are usually in my experience directly from Iron Man fans who like to ignore all the things Stark has done wrong. Similar to Wanda fans in a way

Captain America fans have spent the last 20 years throwing hate at Tony Stark. What reaction do you expect Iron Man fans to have?

Do you realize the fact that neither fandom is that organized? I could argue you’re as bad as that people but instead you’re discussing it with me in a civil manner

Ultron was Ant-Man's doing.

They could never make me hate or feel bad about being a Cap fan.

I haven’t seen a single one of these complaints

Do you have tiktok or Twitter?

Your experience isn't the only experience.

Ditto.

And nothing in my post was invalidating your experience you know. I was just sharing that these were new to me.

Where is all this hate even coming from?

u/Acrobatic_Yoghurt268 1d ago

MCU Fans and some people on Comic Tok.

Okay TikTok I get but mcu fans? Really? Did they not watch any of cap's movies? He literally makes the sacrifice play twice in the first movie!

I was literally coming here to say this!

And then there's those who think he's pro-government because he doesn't solve the X-Men's problems or kill all the bad people in power like that'll magically fix everything.

In my defense, I hope EVERYONE suffers in Doomsday. Just like I was ready, nah, yearning for heads to role in Infinity War. This may be a Captain America sub and Captain America may be my favorite Hero but Thanos and Doom are in the Top 3 for villains. I want them to shine as well.

Look, I don't like Steve's ending in Infinity War. For Steve Roger's of the MCU, it just feels wrong to me. But what happened, happened. So let him live happily. Which is why I don't think Doomsday Steve is actually our Steve. I think that's Captain Hydra undercover.

If he takes the shield back, I'll know for SURE.

3

u/BeginningPotato3753 1d ago

It's definitely our Steve rogers in doomsday

I respectfully disagree. I just don't trust his vibe. The way he said "Hey, pal", and the smirk after summoning Mjolnir. It just set off warning bells.

I just don't see a reason for it to be Captain hydra
