Like I know yhe 2012 suit is largely hated on but in this day and age where we are looking for comic accuracy this suit would've fit in with the likes of DPW wolverine and deapdool and spider-man especially how he appeared in BND!

This suit is a heavily edited disguise party costume

What name did Steve adopt after returning to 1949?

From simply "Roger Stevens," to "Brett Hendrick," to "Nathan Hale," Cap has used quite a few pseudonyms throughout his comic book history. Which do you think he's most likely to have adopted for his time with Peggy? Or has he simply remained "Steven Rogers" in this timeline and just dealt with the consequences of doing so?

How it feels being a Captain America fan recently

"Captain America caused Doomsday"
"Captain America is so selfish"
"Captain America never makes the sacrifice play"
"Captain America is nothing without the serum"
"Captain America is a bum/fraud"
"Cap is the worst Avenger"
"Captain America is so boring"
"I hope Cap suffers in Doomsday"
"I hope Cap dies"
And yes, I've seen this from people.

(2nd pic)If you've seen these types of comments too, don't let them bring you down; push through. No matter how bad the slander gets, just push through.

So I keep hearing arguments about civil war that are something like this Ā« Why is civil war labeled as a Captain America movie even though Steve and Tony have the same amount of screen time Ā»(here is my argument to this statement)

I personally think that despite the two sharing the movie in terms of screen time, it still worked as a Captain America movie nonetheless.

Steve still felt like our main guy because his half of the story was him being proactive and pushing the story forward, and having many plot threads continuing from his previous 2 movies, like his distrust of the government and his friendship with Bucky, while Iron Man was mostly reactionary to Steve’s actions, and they even tied his parents’ death to Steve’s story, as the Winter Soldier, aka his best friend, was the one who killed his parents. Plus, Steve does have 1 extra minute of screen time over Tony, which, yeah, I know it isn’t saying much, but I’ll take what I can get, I guess.

The movie doesn’t have many plot threads and characters from the Iron Man movies like they did with Cap. I mean, Happy Hogan isn’t in it, Pepper Potts isn’t in it, it’s just the parents stuff, which they related to Steve’s friend. Sure, War Machine is there, but he did become an Avenger at the end of Avengers 2, so Rhodey is the only Iron Man character in this movie.

The cast that has the most focus in Civil War are all Cap-centric (Steve, Bucky, Sam, Natasha, Sharon, and them addressing Peggy in the movie), plus Iron Man and Black Panther, which they both related to Steve’s best friend, as he killed Tony’s parents and T’Challa thought he killed his father, plus Rumlow at the start of the movie before he died, but yeah.

Bucky has more screen time than any Avenger outside of Tony, so it’s kinda weird that for an Avengers movie, a non-Avenger character surpasses the rest, as they all were removed from the movie after the airport battle until we see them right before the credits roll.

The movie just has a big focus on Steve and Bucky’s friendship, which is fitting for a Cap movie, since the previous two movies focused on the exact same thing and gave it a conclusion, as the mid-credit scene serves as an epilogue to the trilogy, with Steve knowing that Bucky is finally safe and under protection at Wakanda.

Baron Zemo felt like a Cap villain, as he was using the Hydra book (which, btw, Hydra is related to Cap’s movies) to take control over Bucky, who is his best friend, and we even got some lore on there being other Winter Soldiers out there, making the movie feel like a direct sequel to Cap 1 and Cap 2.

I think calling Cap 3 an Avengers movie is totally valid and makes sense, but I don’t think we should consider people being totally wrong for calling it a Captain America movie, even though he is toe-to-toe with Tony in terms of screen time.

But nonetheless, Steve still felt like the main protagonist of the movie.

What would your reimagining of Captain America and Bucky Barnes look like?

in terms of design, since the story will remain the same as always though they could add a few extra details or tweak the backstory to see what emerges from the reimagining.

Thoughts on Captain America Corps?

Post image
30 Upvotes

Just finished reading the collected edition of CAPTAIN AMERICA CORPS. An Universal Elder, Tath Ki, assembles patriots from all over different universes—Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes (back when he was Cap), American Dreams, USAgent, & Commander A—to face a grave threat that affects them all. In one universe, Steve Rogers was never revived from suspended animation by the Avengers. And that created a ripple effect that horrifically altered the timeline.

They are sent to a dystopian future where they are branded as criminals by the aggressive police force known as the Americops. In this future, the Avengers have disbanded and in its place are the Americommand—a group of patriotic heroes that claimed to protect its citizens but ended up ushering in this totalitarian regime where they rounded up and imprisoned ā€œenemiesā€ (which included mutants & aliens), endorsed a corrupt senator, Miles Brickman, as president and even enacted violent action on those (including average citizens) who dared oppose them.

I know these days multiversal stories are kinda overdone, but I enjoyed this story. Compiling different ā€œCapā€ characters from different universes into one grand team was interesting to see, and Stern did a great job at keeping their own ā€œvoicesā€ unique and I especially loved the dynamic between classic Cap & Bucky (back when he was Cap) with Bucky taking more of a guiding role to Steve.

The whole concept of the Corps works so well I’m surprised it hasn’t been revived in some force since this 2011 miniseries (at least as far as I know). If written well (either by Stern or somewhere else), the Corps could make for another great miniseries or comic event. Then again, maybe I shouldn’t give Marvel editorial any ideas.

For those who did read Captain America Corps, what did you think?

Follow-up question from my recent post, if Captain America would kill Joker why hasn't he killed Red Skull?

2nd image is the OG post

I feel like Red Skull is arguably worse than The Joker and should be killed. (I know he's currently dead atm with Mephisto)

I feel like another reason why Red Skull stays alive is the same reason why Joker stays alive. Sales.

Also, please correct me if I'm wrong(as in, if he has killed Red Skull)

Random Thought- I kinda love how the ā€œmainā€ Captains all kinda have somewhat unique superpowers.

Like, yeah, they’re all expert fighters and acrobats, but that Steve’s basically always at ā€œpeak physical performanceā€, Bucky has a super-powered arm and hand, and Sam has the ability to see through, communicate with, and work with any bird? That’s wildly creative, imo.

When could've Captain America had a kid?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Sorry if this is a stupid question guys but when could've captain America had a kid? In Avengers Endgame Steve went back to Peggy and I'm guessing that scene is like very fresh, that was the firstish time that they'd seen eachother. In Avengers Encore there was an extended version of that scene where Loki comes and --im guessin-- recruits Steve to help fight against Doom. So am I misinterpreting this scene and Steve and Peggy were actually together for years and had a baby?

Need a hand finding the right comic.

Ok. r/CaptainAmerica fans and experts. I am hoping you can assist me in finding the comic with a single description.

I believe this comic was from the early 80s. Captain America is fighting a armor covered person, and his shield is stripped of color and mixed in with others. He throws them at random to no effect. Until he grabs one, says something along the lines of "This is Captain America's shield," while holding it in front of him. Then throws it piercing the armor of the person he is fighting. The scenario I believe was he lost his shield and someone was attempting to replicate it.

Thank you in advance.
