Announcement We’re James Spader and Terry Matalas from Marvel Television’s VisionQuest. Ask Us Anything!

Hello r/marvelstudios
I'm James Spader, and I'm joined by Terry Matalas, Showrunner and Executive Producer of Marvel Television's VisionQuest.
The series picks up Vision's story as he searches for answers about who he is and where he belongs after the events of WandaVision. You can watch the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oSVTAUKyrL8
We're excited to talk about making the show, revisiting these characters, crafting a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and whatever else is on your mind.
We'll start answering questions at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST, Monday 12 October.
Let's do this.
Thanks all!

Discussion Sorry, was this intentional?
I've noticed that in the more recent MCU movies, most heroes defeat the antagonists with some kind of line that makes them change sides!
I don't know if it's intentional or if it's because some of them aren't really villains in the first place.

Discussion Nebula going from an emotionless machine to breaking down in tears over her friend Rocket is one of the best and most unexpected character developments.
It’s why I love the MCU and its ability to develop and explore certain characters beyond their comic versions and how we can grow attached to them in unexpected ways.
Would’ve never thought we’d see a side villain in the first guardians film eventually become an Avenger and one of many reliable heroes within the universe

Discussion After more than 10 years it might be easy to forget how cool casting Paul Bettany as Vision was
While a lot of AoU's deviations from the comics are divisive, using JARVIS as a component of Vision and giving the role to Paul Bettany made the concept of the shared cinematic universe potentially even more rewarding, like the smallest things could turn out to become huge. And it just so happened to be perfect casting. Something that no one could see coming, but turned out to be great. Truly inspired, and still one of my favorite creative choices in the MCU.
And it's gotta blow Bettany's mind that doing a little voiceover for like an hour snowballed into a high profile role that's been going for more than 10 years, and for which he got his first Emmy nomination.

Question "But I do not have the Mind Stone."
"And I do not have one single ounce of original material."
This was the conversation between Hex Vision and White Vision at the end of WV. Btw - this is my favourite post-endgame scene in the whole MCU.
Anyways, I still don't really understand this part. Neither of them has the Mind Stone, yet Hex Vision's retort seems to act as if he does. I know that in Wanda's Hex, Vision has a recreation of the Mind Stone, but at this point in the show the gig is up, and Vision knows that he, in fact, also doesn't have the Mind Stone. To me, the quote would have made more sense if White Vision was like "but I don't have any memories" or something like that.
Am I missing something?

Discussion The pairing of Nebula and Rocket sounds so odd compare to the other character combos, but it actually works so well. It's actaully one of my favourite parts of endgame.
It's crazy that these 2 amazing and complex characters in the mcu sphere, seeing 2 out of 7 members of the GOTG being the last members to survive in the post Thanos world, and it's actually works so well especially with the other surviving members of the Avengers, and I think it gets less attention when we talk about Endgame as a cinematic celebration and event that everyone was there and saw 8 years ago.

Discussion Its safe to say that we all know that Doom is winning in Doomsday, right?
There is no way people think the Avengers are winning.
I am saying this PURELY because the next movie is Secret Wars.

Question Okay, plot armor aside, who is LOGICALLY going to win this big clash?
Doom is obviously winning in Doomsday due to plot armor and the highest possible levels of nerfing GoS Loki, but powerscaling-wise, who wins?

Discussion Today marks 3 years since the Battle of Earth from Avengers: Endgame, which took place on October 17th, 2023 in-universe. What would've you been doing during that day if you were living in the MCU?

Interview Michael Waldron on whether he'll direct Nova - "I don't know what I can say without my computer catching on fire.I love Nova, I love Rich Rider. I worked so closely with Sam Raimi and watching how he did was my film school. So, to get to write and direct a movie for Marvel would be a dream come true

Discussion Once the Fantastic Four join Earth-616 permanently, do you think we'll see them influence society like they did back on their own Earth?
I'm just curious because, in order for a Marvel universe to work, it kinda has to resemble our real world. Characters like Daredevil and Punisher don't really have a purpose if society is cleaned up and the world becomes a utopia. Those stories thrive off the dirty criminal underworld, but 'First Steps' established that the Fantastic Four can easily clear up any problems they want very quickly. I mean, there's literally a scene where Reed "baby-proofs" the world by going after all the criminal gangs lol.

Discussion Two people who literally LOST EVERYTHING and STILL chose to do good..
There are countless characters that went through challenges, but none like them.
I will forever look up to these two individuals for what they have always done. No matter what they went through, they still chose the right path.
