Life Stories I cried while doing laundry and honestly that's peak adulthood
Have you ever been so done with life that you started crying while doing the most mundane shit imaginable?
I genuinely had a moment where I was crying while doing laundry π
Like damn, bro, I'm really out here fighting for my life AND making sure my clothes are clean for tomorrow HAHAHAHA.
Adult life is actually insane.

I used to cry on my way to and from work in my van for my 15-20 minute drive. Pretty cathartic. Love being an adult lol.

Well my van doesn't work anymore so I've been too depressed to have a good stress cry but I'm working back up to it. But thank you β€οΈ

I would say doing it while driving is also a good one. Not speaking from experience or anything....

Yes, I just have to refrain from actually talking to myself while driving. Somehow that's more distracting than just thinking miserable thoughts.

Not crying but randomly went and took a nap in the middle of deep cleaning the bathroom. Shit had me exhausted, Iβm getting old itβs not funny anymore

This is coming from someone with a deep history of mental issues including being diagnosed with depression 19 years ago before I was even in high school....few things to me feel better than when I actually have the mental energy to do chores. Makes it actually feel like I'm actually doing alright.

This one time I was cleaning my room and bought a new bottle of air freshener and as soon as I sprayed it and the new scent was inhaled I just had this draining feeling come over me and all I could think was "Damn...this is all there is."

I see you, friend. Two nights ago I felt a mental breakdown coming as I was winding down for bed. I just thought 'God, get me through wrapping up my hair at least'. Proud to say I made it all the way until I'd tucked myself in to violently cry into my pillow.

When my mother was dying under hospice care, I kept it together when I was with her.
However, every time I left her home, I'd sob in the car.

I'm so sorry you went through that. Sending you a hug π«β€οΈ

It was how I coped.
Both my parents died from yobacco-induced cancers. I'm still pissed off that they made me go through it twice. I used to beg them to stop smoking, if not for themselves, for me.
Addicts don't care about other people.

Damn, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how painful it must've been to go through that twice, especially after trying so hard to get them to stop

Laundry's a sneaky trigger, it's quiet enough to let your brain run wild. Crying over socks is a rite of passage.

Not laundry, but shortly after I bought my house we had torrential rain storms and it started flooding my basement. I was trying to use a carpet cleaner to suck up some of the water then blew a breaker and the breaker box was screwed shut and I didnt have a drill. I cried and called my dad lmao.

I started putting on a podcast during chores so my brain has something to chew on besides the dread. Doesn't fix everything but it stops the spiral.
