Almost 1.5 years ago I posted in the R4R subs looking for a friend. Nothing romantic, just wanted someone to talk to and share my woes and joys.

I was very (still am) depressed and got a LOT of pings, however only less than 5 kept in communication over the following weeks. Doesn't help since Im of Tita age I got more weird requests than genuine friendships.

Enter TravelDude - not his Redditor name, he has been a good constant pen pal. He listens to my drama and I his.

He hit me up yesterday saying he is in my city. Mind you na nasa Pinas sya when we originally chatted. So what are the chances of all the US cities he got to visit was my actual hometown.

Fate talaga the hotel he & his fam was staying at is close to my work. I took him to the best Italian spots sa amin and we caught up.

He is happily with his GF and ako naman told him of my current life updates.

It nice talaga to have a in person ka chikahan. He leaves bukas and though its gonna be months before uwi ko sa pinas, he made a promise to return a favor of him and his GF (hopefully wifey na) to take me on a foodie trip sa Manila.

Who would've thought na ang simpleng paghahanap ng makakasama sa LalalaFest and fine dining would lead me to someone who now gives me reasons to wake up with a smile?

I used to have moments when I questioned my worth, wondering if I was ever enough to be loved. Then she came into my life and gave me affection without me having to ask, without me having to chase. Basta kusang dumating, kusang ibinigay. And God, ang saya pala sa pakiramdam when someone makes you feel loved without you having to beg for it.

This year has been rough. Lost my mom 4 months ago, baon kami sa utang sa medical and burial expenses, lahat ng loans nakuhanan pang ambag sa gastos. Yung sahod ko lahat sa utang napupunta, syempre pangkain pa at bills.

Lunod na lunod ako. Pero yesterday pagtapos ng work ko nagkaroon ako ng urge para mag ayos at lumabas. Yung natitira kong pera eh pinangkain ko ng ramen na matagal ko nang di nalalasahan.

Bumili rin ako ng maliit na cake para sa sarili ko at bulaklak para kay nanay.

Sakto rin na binigyan ako ng bulaklak ng kaibigan ko for my birthday, dinala ko na rin sa mall na parang ako ang pinaka maganda at pinaka mentally stable na tao sa mall.

Ang saya lang. For the first time in 4 months, hindi ako umiyak bago matulog.

not sure if there’s like a contract or exclusivity deal between SM and Brownies Unlimited, but i genuinely don’t know why you can only find them inside SM malls 😭 if anyone knows the reason, please enlighten me! huhuh

First time kong pumila sa health center mag-isa. Na-realize ko lang, dati kapag dinadala ako ng nanay ko rito, malayo palang takot na takot na ako. Pero ngayong matanda na, hindi na ako sa injection kinakabahan eh. Nung nakita ko yung haba ng pila, doon kumabog yung dibdib ko. Alas singko ng madaling araw ako dumating, alas dies ako nakalabas?!

At 31, I didn't know I still had it in me. Yung kinikilig over the little things—exchanges of smiles, stolen glances, playful banter, and those seemingly ordinary moments that make you smile a little more.

No expectations. No grand intentions. Just simple, genuine admiration.

I've realized that I don't always have to deny or downplay these feelings. From now on, I'll allow myself to embrace them wholeheartedly.

Not every attraction needs to be pursued, and not every feeling needs to turn into something more.

Sometimes, it's enough to simply acknowledge that something feels good—warm, light, and a little giddy.

Last Christmas, Dec 25, 2025, ang hiningi ko sa exchange gifts ay notebook na pwede ko gawing journal na may letters na nakasulat sa loob from my family. Given na I was going through a health ordeal with my eyes, nakakatouch na lahat ng wishes nila ay gumaling na ko at makakita ulit.

Akala ko nga dahill sa progression ng vision loss ko, MABUBULAG NA KO at di na ko makakapagjournal ulit. Today, Oct 15, 2026, nakakakita at nakakapagsulat na ulit.

Kaya kung may kahit anong wish ka today, tandaan mo in 294 days matutupad rin yan.

4 days ago, I got hit on the head & there are still lingering symptoms. As for how head injuries go, it's hard to get a grasp of how dangerous a situation is, which makes it scary.

It's been a long time since I went to the hospital, so I don't know how to go about it. My other relatives are busy so I'm opting to go with friends.

We are poor, so it would be ideal to go to a hospital that offers free and/or low-cost fees. And what specific area should I go to? Since I often hear ER & OPD among others.

I would also like to hear your thoughts, experiences & recommendations, thanks!
