Help
Just started getting into comic book collecting through a friend and found this gem at goodwill. After some research, I realized what I had, but now im terrified to try to take the sticker off.
Copy seems really clean, and thinking of submitting to CGC. Any thoughts or recommendations to getting the sticker off?

Look it up on Google. It will take patience, alot of it. Some light steam and heat. But it can be done. SLOWLY

This guy is correct, ignore all other options. PATIENCE, heat, and potential light steam is the answer.

From the picture it looks to have 11+ spine ticks so wouldn’t submit this for grading personally, or risk causing more damage by removing the sticker. Just keep as is and enjoy

Use hair dryer heat it up then use a Swiss Army knife type blade and slowly blade side toward you from the far corner of the sticker .. as it comes up gently pinch the corner that comes up and lightly retain pressure upward as you pull the blade toward you .. the blade is between the sticker and the paper as you pull up on sticker then toward yourself w the blade .. reapply heat often to keep it loose .. 80% of the time I have success this way . Any residue dab with the loose sticker adhesive side pull off paper .

DO NOT use any sort of chemical adhesive remover on a comic this new! I have experimented with several types such as glue gone, undo, Bestine, Ronsonal, and Naptha and everyone of them took off some ink. The safest way is to use heat as many other people have recommended and a plastic sticker removal tool (they are cheap on Amazon). I have been removing stickers and tape from comics for years, and while the chemicals work well enough on Golden age to Bronze age. Modern Comics don't take well to it.

Maybe use a hairdryer, or go social media and find a professional comic book cleaner!

Unfortunately anything you try will still leave a visible imprunt. I wouldn't waste the the $70+ sending it to CGC. You wont be happy with the grade

Read it. Enjoy it. It's not something worth sending into a professional to have them remove the sticker, nor is it something worth the cost of grading.

Yet to try but definitely going to. A product called "undo" im told it leaves no residue. Deactivates glue then reactivates after it evaporates. Try on something you dont care about first

Hair dryer warm the sticker up to get the glue melter and slowly peel it off

I would just higher a professional presser / cleaner to take the sticker off and then have it pressed. Keep in mind it's probably going to cost a little more for them to remove the sticker.
Otherwise, if you want to tempt fate, to remove the sticker safely you could try to us a hair dryer on low heat to warm up the glue so you can remove the sticker easier. However, this could back fire and you could either A tear the book or B only end up removing part of the sticker and then it would be harder to remove.
Personally, I would go with first option, but if you don't care about the book since it only cost a dollar, take the chance to remove it yourself.

Yes, I remove Goodwill stickers all the time. Just use a tack iron to heat it up. They come off very nicely.

Send to cgc for what? To back up the log and increase wait times for books actually worthy of grading? 😆 🤣
