FO [FO] So much brown...
The pattern is The Moth With The Pearl Earring by BlackAida. You can find it on Etsy. I absolutely loved doing this. The details didn't immediately jump out at me as I was sectioning it (I like a small hoop) so when I popped it out for the last time I actually gasped.
Yeah, she needs a proper press and I'll frame her when I'm ready but for now, meet Martha ๐ค

I absolutely love her ๐ I am a crazy bug lady so I do have a soft spot for moths. They're very underappreciated creatures.

I was looking at it like ๐ง this feels very familiarโฆis that a fly? ๐ค Then I read the caption and was like OF COURSE! lol Martha is beautifully done and will look even better once she is pressed and framed.

I adore this omg! Can totally see how the brown shades would get boring fast, but it looks stunning. Such a fun pattern and your needle work is amazing

Thank you everyone. She didn't take me too long either and thank you u/wasraelx for the compliment. I've spent a very long time learning not to stress and go with the flow of the needle ๐

Your stitches are gorgeous! Do you stitch by hand or in a hoop?

I always use a hoop. I try and use the smallest one I can and make sure my fabric is cut to just a little bigger than size before I use it. Big frames annoy me and keeping the tension is a pain on them. I'd rather do it in sections than see it all come together at the same time. It keeps my place in the pattern ๐

Omg, I love this! It's so cute!! ๐ฅน I also really appreciate you showing the back! It's always nice seeing someone else's work that looks like mine does on the back. Makes me feel a little less alone haha ๐

Thanks for posting! We love seeing all of the FOs. Please note that starting May 1 2026, all [FO] posts are required to include at least one close-up photo of the stitching. You do not need to re-post. This can be done either in a comment or in the body of the post. It can be a close-up of just a small part of the finished object, just so we can verify that the items are hand-stitched. How close do we want it? The perfect close-up pic is one where we can clearly see the stitches and fabric on the mobile app without tapping or zooming in.
