Considering how little we know, I’d like to agree that valve just keeps a tight wrap on things. I would also like to say that Dota and other valve games are similar, they just don’t really have leaks. I’m sure there are Dota leaks, I just never hear about them before Dota release new content IE.

There are data miners in Dota, these are the list from 6 years ago. Some of those heroes already released like bird_samurai, primal_beast, and puppet_master. And these were the latest leaks we got, and some proved to be true. We got the Dark Carnival on late June, still waiting for the new hero tho.

Are data miners really leaking though? Isn’t that publicly accessible information or am I missing something? It’s accessible from the files of the game itself right? I honestly didn’t know those counted as leaks.

I don't remember Dota ever having a leak. The closer we ever had was this tweet by Wykrhm with Ember Spirit and Legion Commander's early model, although this doesn't really count as a leak considering it's coming from Wyk. More like a preview anyway.
