I'm not even commenting on that; I feel like the entire idea of this is silly to start comparing characters whose only broader connection is that they are Asian and "Some people think they are cute."
This update brought confirmation that Mina is a bit more complicated than she lets on with her admission that she might have actually loved Pocket, but she doesn't know or understand, which adds a layer to basically everything she does, because everything she does is to be recognized; it *all* have a through-line of being loved, whether being a premier fashion designer, being vampire sovereignty, or being wedded to an important family. There's something missing to her and she knows it, but can't name it, which kinda explains the way she interacts with others. It's great fucking writing, and it was all telegraphed by the one ability she's built around; "Love Bites."
I'd rather focus on that bit of characters; and as we don't have the juice on Violet, i think this entire idea is just really reductive. I think her design is cute, but its mainly that she's an artist with pen nib earrings, which i think is neat as she seems to like traditional ink art.
Also yes, I like Mina's nuance. Don't misunderstand me as wanting her to be one-note, let alone just in the name of the game having a marketable waifu. Honestly, who IS saying that?
My apologies, this thread of messages named 5 characters like known 3 Asian characters in a row, pointing at the fourth, so i assumed that was the connective tissue. My fault for assuming.
This isn't also pointing towards you, but it does feel like the general sentiment towards is either "boring" or "Goonerbait" which i've seen folks talk about mina, kiriko, and, in general, marvel rivals characters carry that same sentiment; didn't mean to aim it specifically at you, more speaking broadly about the topic and maybe misinterpreting the cut-above-below meaning.
Thanks. All I meant from the above/below thing is that Mina's got some spice in her - which I appreciate even moreso with all that nuance and vulnerability. Have a nice day.

I was going to point that out; I don't even overwatch and i caught she's a lot more sarcastic from the outside than "uncomplicatedly cheery."
