Violet good, but unbalanced char, her wall and slide is kinda cancer. I don't like that any criticism of Violet is immediately called misogyny.

For me violet kit cool and fun but violet backstory mundane and personality middling. Violets wish isnt strong enough to me to give her proper motivation since canonically in the ritual you actually kill the people attending and idk if her arts worth ending lives to her like that.

I kind of gave up on it, like yeah, but my favorite characters in the game are Danny and Billy, just a cool skeleton and a punk goat. If those are my favorite characters, it's hard to expect other people's favorites to be complex.

To be fair there's a difference between simple and deceptively simple. Nobody knows what Billy's wish is and the origin of his goat head is a complete mystery. He wont tell and it obviously seems important in some way.

Same thing with Danny. His seven voicelines reveal hes under some non disclosure agreement that limits what he can say completely, even not allowing him to say how he was created. Solomon also calls him out for "playing an act", so its obvious that hes an entirely different guy under the salesmen jig. Its likely Fairfax had a hand in his creation in the first place and it was completely unethical and unwanted. He might hate fairfax and might have his wish be entirely different than "get a promotion"

I will just think Maximilian and Danny yaoi and Danny want his skin back to kiss Pocket dad.

Same! people be expecting something else in Violet, as if she had to be SUPER sick, a demon like or smt like that to be in the ritual. but as an artist i say; being an artist sucks, people will treat your job like shit for no reason and you normally would kill to make your job appreciated, i dont expect an artist to be something else, most artists just live in their own worlds creating things outside of reality, Violet is just an okay representation of an artist life and i enjoy playing her!

You right, some character will be normal, like hero lab trapper.

This.

I hear more people complaining and moaning about "misogyny" when 99% of the complaints are about either boring lore, League character clone, generic/boring design compared to the rest of the cast, etc.

I've not even once heard any complaints that "she's for gooners." Just complaints of these complaints

Lowkey, her kit is kind of disgusting. It'll be interesting to see just how fast she gets nerfed once people figure out just how disruptive she can actually be.

3

u/Sad-Personality5698 2d ago

Oh she will be nerfed

It's not misogyny. It's just weirdly entitled to complain about.

If this sub gonna be like this, I might as well avoid until Harrow get added.

Maybe I'm just old or something, but how is this character goon slop? She's literally just fully clothed, nothing on her is revealing?

I mean I've played Street Fighter 6, there's a lot of goon slop in that game, have you seen Cammy?

Short shorts with her legs covered in jizz. I mean paint

Honestly, i have never seen the example of right one - every criticism i've encountered is from left; except violet voters from day one portrait violet haters wiith phrase on the right, which is rather strange. But somehow some people find racism and misogony where it's not present, invalidating most of the proper criticism. Upd. Her kit is not bad in vacuum, but i just know it would be the most janky, broken and rage inducing kit for a long time

I think people are having voter remorse they expected that poster of her transformed into some kind of weird creature to be a hint at something more. I think she's pretty strong I like her moveset.

7

u/dokdodokdo 2d ago

Except most of the criticism people have is whats on the left

Violet is not bad

Maybe it is because i got a thing for painter characters idk

Violet's a surprisingly fun and funny character when you don't have people constantly bitching in your ear about Luna Snow and Kiriko

u/Hy93r1oN 2d ago

Lowkey I don’t get the people calling her goonslop. Like I really don’t like her, she’s the worst hero added to the game so far personality wise but no character wearing shorts like that is goonslop

u/bigtree2x5 2d ago

Remember before we knew the heroes that were coming out there were constant posts of people being like "hehe, what if we had like... A hero that was a mailman or pizza delivery man and he's just a normal guy reacting to all this crazyness!" and people loved the concept and now we have a normal person and suddenly it never should've been made

10

u/Vexifoxi 2d ago

I think its because she takes herself too seriously, people wanted the "normal guy" trope to be a meme character, in concept. Kinda like the Peter Wisdom guy from Deadpool, turning up because he saw it advertised and thought it'd be fun thing to take part in

4

u/Calm_Monitor_3227 2d ago

literally never heard anyone say this

-4

u/N1ghthood 2d ago

Have you considered that not everyone on here is the same person? Those ideas are awful.

-6

u/KingGamerlol 2d ago

not to mention that we also kind of just got

> Normal guy: but floating

and people act like that’s still cool but Violet can’t be

9

u/Flagelant_One 2d ago

Ain't no way you mean Solomon lmao almost every conversation he has hints that he's above needing the ritual and is there just so other people's wishes don't fuck up the world too much

3

u/Godz_Bane 2d ago

Life is much nicer when you dont spend any time on twitter or whatever other social media site you see people bringing up her race.

I only come here for Deadlock news and havent seen a single person bring up her race like its a negative, only people complaining about the idea that others are.

5

u/timmytissue 2d ago

It's ok not to like a hero. You can just play the others. This doesn't need to be discourse.

u/Jastreen Dynamo 2d ago

Meanwhile Violet defenders pivots from "you're misogynist" and "you're racist"

Seems deadlock commnuity has issues with successful asian women.

8

u/Kingofmanga 2d ago

Talk out of your ass more mina is probably a top 3 fan favourite hero

-10

u/Top_Kaleidoscope4362 2d ago

MINA IS NOT FAN FAVOURITE. lmao. People hate her and still hate her. I remember getting flamed for playing mina.

11

u/Laranthiel Graves 2d ago

Likely cause you suck with her, not cause of Mina.

-7

u/Top_Kaleidoscope4362 2d ago

lmao. What a toxic community. Thank God I played the game first. If I had engaged with it first before, I would never have played it. Hating a character becuase she is normal, also don't act like mina hate never existed.

4

u/Kingofmanga 2d ago

Hating a character because she has a normal functioning life with goals and aspirations with a future and she is scared to die in the ritual. Yet she risks her life and ending the lives of six other people because she wants her art to be seen by more people. Mina hate for how op she was existed for the character no it really didn’t

5

u/Kingofmanga 2d ago

Guys mina is hated because i went 1 and 14 on her and got flamed. They are not hating the character i mean people call her a bitch because she is but thats her character

-4

u/Laranthiel Graves 2d ago

Problem is that a lot of the Violet fanboys think they're both one and the same.
